    My cashback got rejected.
    Did anyone else's get rejected?
Lucky I didn't open the box so I can still return it to JB

My cashback just got rejected too (Harvey Norman)

Reason: Unfortunately, we were not able to validate your claim as the receipt provided is only partial. As part of the terms and conditions we require a full receipt showing the date, the products purchased and confirmation that the balance owing is $0.00. Please send through a copy a full receipt/invoice (including balance owing) to [email protected] to validate your claim..

i am not too sure, but the email invoice that i got from HN had all these details.
Have the feeling this might start to get messy…..

        Thanks for sharing.

Its good to know its other people too and not just me.

I'll give them a chance to respond to me, if not ill take it to ACCC.

Might be able to do a mass complaint all together or even send the bikies.

        • +1

i got sameemail. I initially used the online receipt from JB which actually did not show the amount paid. I have now resent the version JB emailed me with the amount paid so I'll see how they respond to that and yes i will be taking further actions if they do not honor this.

    • Super lame, the rejected reason is that the invoice doesn't show "balance owing $0".

But the invoice does clearly states that total $159 and amount paid $159.

They try to play with words and fine prints.

      • +2

I think the issue might have been they didn't know it can be bought for only $159.

They assumed that $159 is a part payment.

Anyone got a screenshot of JB HiFi ad showing $169 and $150 cash back?

  • +1

Ah that's a bit annoying if it's going to be this much hassle to submit the cashback. I'll probably still keep this for $169, it's like a well made little robot

    • +1

I will return and ask for refund if they dont honor this.

    • +2

They will have to approve the cashback in time. It's just a matter of proving payment was made in full.

It's too late to change the T&C retrospectively to include minimum price clauses.

I suspect retailers are getting a rebate from Canon (why else they suddenly sell this camera "below cost"), they now realised that they are being double dipped. :D

  • +1

so everyone happy with the resolution? i thought quality is from 20 yrs ago…

  • +1

I think I got an approved cashback email.
I submitted the electronic receipt if that helps

    • Did you buy it from JB Hi-Fi? Are you happy to share the receipt you have uploaded?

      • +1

Yes I submitted the JB hi-fi receipt that gets emailed to you. Maybe a mugeeb approved my submission 😅

    • +2

I submitted the receipt downloaded from the JB website. Resubmitting with the the pdf receipt jb sent me now so see what happens. Still doesn't say $0 balance.

Reading through the T&C, I can't see where it says invoice must show $0 balance. Can anyone else see the condition?

      • +1

Just received the JB receipt via email (about 24 hours after picking up). I think the difference is the emailed receipt says 'total amount paid', whereas the tax invoice downloaded from the website just says 'total'.

        • You are right, the one from the website only shows "total", but it does also say "collected", which implies it has been paid.

It's fair enough if that's the reason.

  • +1

My cashback got rejected too as invoice doesn't show $0 balance….haven't opened so will do a refund if Canon still doesn't accept it.

    • +1

Same, I just think Canon are idiots….

      • +1

They shouldn't have sold it for so low to begin with. Now they are suspicious of their own pricing. Feels like one department that does promo didnt communicate to the rest of the business.

I submited last night and just got the rejection :(

  • Check S L's screenshot above if you have issues.

  • Rejected for the same reason as well, that should be an issue between Canon and JB to resolve, not our fault that JB doesn't issue an invoice showing $0 owed.

  • Just FYI, I got a better looking receipt from JB but it doesn't have 0.00 still, and it's rejected again.

Have emailed Canon to tell them to sort this crap out with JB or I'll be going to ACCC.

What is required on my receipt?
The receipt for the Eligible Product must clearly specify:

     • the Eligible Product purchased
     • the price of the Eligible Product purchased
     • the name of the authorised Canon Australia retailer
     • the purchase date
     • the receipt number; and
     • that payment for the Eligible Produc has been received in full.

If the receipt is missing any of the above information, or is illegible or indecipherable, it will render the claim invalid.

Also nothing about 0 balance in tnc page

My receipt from JB was approved. I think I used the printout I asked them for in store when 8 did my C&C. The online one was missing ABN from memory which means it legally isn't a tax invoice. JB did also email me an invoice a few days later. I think the emailed invoice should be ok

  • +1

No one complains about how crap the software is? Why can't I just use the USB for webcam…? Or am I missing something here

    • +1

I think the main usecase they built for is to set and forget and not to use the app. Pull out the sd card and copy to PC. If you did that then the product is fine. Any higher expectations will leave you greatly disappointed

  • +1

after seeing the photos and vids, i dont think this is even worth $19…ended up returning it to jb.

    • You opened and then returned? :(

  • +1

my second attempt got approved using the JB HIFI receit they email you, not the one in your account

    • Did you reapply or did you send to the email address on the rejection email?

      • +2

i reapplied. the reply to the rejection email got ghosted…

        • Thanks. I'll give it a go too cuz I've been ghosted also…

    • +1

My resubmission got approved, anyone else who got rejected try and resubmit a new claim with the receipt jb emailed you.

Saying that don't know what happens if you have 2 submissions…

    • +1

Same resubmitted using invoice from email and got approved.

  • +1

Submitted today with JB Hifi emailed receipt showing $159, it was approved in under 3 hours.

  • +1

Same here approved in under 2 hrs today with actual tax invoice from email.

Will suggest everyone to reapply with tax invoice from email who were rejected or asking for more details earlier.
My claim was also rejected with invoice screenshot of online account.
Replied to email with proper tax invoice but never heard back from them.
Reapplied today with tax invoice from email and got approved under 2 hrs

  • First claim of mine was rejected (jb online) however replied to their email with the tax invoice sent a day or so after purchasing and it was approved.

  • +1

    Interesting.
On box it says made in japan

    • +1

Yeah it's probably costing them at least $100 just to manufacture the item. I'm a Nikon user and sometimes look at Canon just to see what else is in the market. Almost everything from Canon is made in Japan.

    • Yea the build quality is great, feels just like their lense.

  • +2

Cashback money into my A/C yesterday :)

  • +1

Finally picked mine up from JB Hifi yesterday. When I opened the box it was pretty obvious that JB Hifi had given me a returned unit! There was even an SD card with some footage in the camera!
So long as it works (I haven't tested it yet), and I can claim the cashback I don't really care. I would have been pretty annoyed if I'd paid full price though.
I'm just wondering whether everything was in the box? All I received was the camera, cable and 32gb MicroSD card (i.e. no charger).
Is that all that's supposed to be included? Was it even meant to include an SD Card, or was this a bonus?!

    • +1

mine just came with the cam and a USB cable for charging

  • +1

Well turned it on today and hate it already :)

Mostly it says it can't connect and to turn off and try again. Now and then it connects, then it tells me to put and SD card in and reboot it… Regardless of what SD card is in it already. Already feels like a disjointed, buggy PITA.

    • Ok iOS device worked ok, had to reformat the SD cards to fat32 in a computer first as well as device could not even format them.

Firmware update went through ok. Then had to manually remove the device from the Bluetooth settings on the android device, reset and started again.

Seems to be 50:50 if it will connect or not, but has not needed to try more than a second time.

It's quite clearly not well developed, more like a beta product. Could have potential if Canon were actively updating it, but I doubt they are given there's not financial incentive.
