Wonder if there will some good Apple sales on Boxing day…

    • +3

If they do any sales on Boxing Day it would be a first.

They generally do the black Friday gift cards and AirPods deal during back to school

      • +1

        Ah, bummer.. Thanks.

    • You could stock for return to school deal coming up early January.

      • What kind of deals you get in return to school?

        • +1

          Free AirPods usually

  • Can you use everyday rewards points to pay for the gift card?

  • +10

Be ready for chasing your points even after 14 days

    • +1

I didn't get my points last time. I can't believe I have to call them.

    • +1

Yeah I just got my points for purchase on 2/11 today by calling them. Count in the 30 to 60 minutes waiting in line.

    • +1

I got 40,000 pts manually added for $2,100 worth gift cards. Had to contact them via FB to get the missing 2,000pts.

    • +1

In the last promotion I wanted to purchase 5x200 + groceries and Woolies staff member told me that there's a new 1000 transaction limit (some anti-fraud limit) and asked me to split the purchase into two, so I only got part of the points and had to chase them in Facebook due to the 1 transaction per day limit.

So if you are planning on using this, just buy the GCs separately as the first transaction.

      • I hate how certain Woolies staff keep making up arbitrary rules that aren't in the printed T&Cs for Apple Gift Cards. Like maximum $500 value per transaction, or you're only allowed to buy one of the variable value cards, etc.

        • Yeah. I’ve had them outright refuse to sell me anything over $100 for made up reasons… basically the Store Manager / Shift supervisor decides. I guess some have been burned by fraud in the past and now simply are not interested and have the discretion to say No. ?

      • I always pay at the service desk, I believe the limit there is $2000 (I've only had to split it once and I still got all my points - not sure if that's still the case in spilt transactions).

    • They manually added it for me last time, but I didn't contact them about the matter though.

  • A boring promo. Can we have some eBay gift cards coming?

  • +3

Had to chase them up over the phone last time they did the promotion which was a couple of weeks ago. 40 minutes on the phone.

    • +1

      yes me too

  • Limit 10 cards mean $500 x 10 ?

    • +1

People ended up having lost of limitations - read the comments in the last promo.

Basically, you will not be able to purchase $500 x 10 in 1 transaction.

Also, a lot of people have problem getting the points - I think especially those that uses the variable amount card. Again check comments in last promo.

      • Cheers

I got a variable $500 card on the first day of the promo and the points didn’t appear straight away.

Had to wait 10 days for it to be “manually credited”.

I didn’t have to chase them over the phone tho.

      • I was able to buy over $2000 last time though, that was how I bought my 14pm at Apple.

I’m so glad this deal showed up, ATO has asked me to pay back (what they have over-payed me) in apple gift cards!

  • Hopefully none of that app booster debacle again 😅

  • Wait for coles to do the same so you don’t have to chase up your points.

Flybuys points always appear the next business day at around 5pm

    • i can confirm this. Mine shown up a day later on flybuys on the last month deal.

Can I buy an iPhone 14 off Apple Store with these gift cards? What is the effective discount % when redeeming points for cash? Thanks!

    • Sorry just saw in title - 10% off. Can I buy an iPhone off Apple Store and will it stack with Cashrewards?

      • The iPhone 14 is currently in the excluded list. New releases stay that way for a few months.

        • didn't know this, can you please refer me to a link?
          thanks

            @WhatsTheBigDeal: https://www.cashrewards.com.au/apple

Ineligible for cashback (updated 21/11/22): Gen 10 iPad, iPad Pro 11" & 12.9", Apple TV 4K, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 8, Studio Display, Pro Display XDR, Purchase of Gift Cards, Gift Wrap, Shipping, Apple Developer Programs, Purchases via trade-ins, AppleCare purchased individually (or after associated product ships).

            • @rpb: Lol ok I misunderstood your response. I thought you said we can't buy iPhone 14 from gift cards.
But anyway what you provided is still new info. I thought Cashrewards is generally voided by using gift cards - but in this case only for the exclusions list (but unfortunately iPhone 14 is there!)

      • cashrewards usually don't work when paying with gift cards. It is the norm, there can be exceptions though with some stores.

        • +2

          They do for Apple

          https://www.cashrewards.com.au/apple

Cashback is eligible on purchases paid with gift cards, and eligible on the purchase of Apple refurbished products.

      • I don't think so, because new iPhones are excluded in cash return.

    • +1

Yes, because I just did last time with my $2k gift card at an Apple retail store.

      • No Cashrewards though

        • +1

Cashrewards or Shopback is not available for any iPhone 14 product.

  • +1

Can we use Woolworths gift card to buy apple gift cards? Woolworths card can be on 3-5% off

    • Don’t think so

  • Will I need to “boost” to get this or automatic?

    • +1

No need to boost or activate, just take note of card limit and 1 transaction per day.

  • Can we use the variable cards as well for $500?

    • As per the fine print on the link (catalogue) - yes. But as ppl have commented, buying given fixed denominations have faster points reflection it seems. I'd go with $200 as I need only 7 of them (apple limit is 8 gcs per transaction)

      • Doesn't the limit per transaction not matter if you just load them onto your Apple account? Or do you mean in store?

    • +1

Yes. Got 3x $500 variable cards just then and the points reflected Instantly.

  • Extra points worked for 2 cards but did not show up for the next 2, is that normal?

    • How many were fixed and how many were variable?

      • 1 fixed 2 variable of which only one worked

        • Might take some time for variables I guess

    • Did the points for the variable show on your receipt?

  • Just read the terms, 1 transaction per day per everyday reward card

  • Bought over $2k worth this morning, got the rewards points instantly and was able to use them.

    • All in single transaction?

  • +1

Bought 5x variable this morning, no issues - all $500. You need to purchase in one transaction- due to t&c’s. $250 Woolies dollars added instantly.

    • Wanted the coles 15% offer but jb hi fi and gg all out of stock for iPhone I need. Plus the GC snipers took out all the stock.

      • Where are you seeing the $250 Woolies dollars, in the everyday rewards app? Also do you get cash or is it $ off your shopping?

        • I did it at the self serve, was a pop up on the screen. I even used about $100 by doing a shop straight after

  • Is it 20 points per $? Because the regular earn rate is 0, and 20 x 0 is still zero ;p

    • Similar questions regarding points. No idea the regular points to dollars spent conversion..so not sure if I received the correct amount.

      • Should be 10% in woolworths dollars to what was spent on gift cards.

        I.e buy $1000, get $100.

  • +2

I'd forgotten about the 10 card limit but luckily got exactly 10 ($500s were sold out). If you're buying more than $1000 pay at the service desk, the limit there I believe is $2000 (I once had to spilt it because it was $200 over - I confirmed I'd get the points before I followed through).

Bought 9 x $200 and 1 x$100 and the points showed up right away. (Seems like the variables ones are the one you need to wait for).

    • Thanks, hopefully I can find $200 cards in stock tomorrow.

  • Hi guys, can we get discount with everyday xtra?

    • No - no discount offered on Gift card purchases

  • Bought 2 x 500 cards today and points ($100 worth) on my card when I checked an hour later

    • But then bought another $400 this morning and it added it as normal points, no bonus on reciept

  • Bought $1300 worth today ( 3x$200 and 7x$100 ) from a Metro. Even on the screen it said I would be earning 26,000 points and then in the few minutes it took me to walk out of the store and up the road it was already visible in the Everyday Rewards app.

  • Went to Pyrmont metro today and staff said $500 limit, and said manager needs to be consulted. Wish they got their act together. Currently waiting in queue now whilst they find someone who knows the answer.

Edit: they said ok but I have to provide name, address and phone number. Didn’t have to do this yesterday.

    • On the plus side, my 3 y/o loves the different Apple stickers. They are easy to peel off, stay in tact, and feel pretty good quality… but now I have them stuck all over my house.

  • did you pay with credit card and still get the points?

    • That's dependent on your credit card/rewards scheme but at least for me I did. Got both my AMEX QFF points (paid with AMEX QFF) as well as the Everyday Rewards which convert to QFF.

  • I tried to purchase 3k worth but there was an issue and there was no one to authorise my purchase so I reduced it to 2k, will try buying the rest another day before the promo ends. The woolworths dollars appeared not too long after!

  • This promo is until 6/12, is today inclusive?
I just came across bundles of them at my woolies, not sure if this promo is still ongoing today?

    • It is, I bought a few this morning.
