Been watching the price and didn't see anything over Black Friday come close, finally back down to $79 and hopefully able to make gaming sessions easier over the festive season!

Plenty of third party controllers that can be had for cheaper, and also much much more so this is my preferred controller over the included controllers

Same price at HN so you can price match somewhere else.

Price match at JB and use 15% off gift cards to pay for it

This is the better option as you don't run the risk of fakes with retail outlets. That's not the case with Amazon with its comingled inventory strategies (stock from random sellers gets lumped in same storage bin with official seller).

how is it 15% off? Doesn't look like it

    • Me too

      Nintendo.

      • It’s gone lower if you can wait

  • +9

Was lucky enough to get this for $49 last year I don't think we will see those prices again :/

    • +1

I secured one in that deal too. Based on a lot of previous deals nowadays it's usually only on sale regularly for $79 and occasionally will dip to $69 at times.

How come the Switch controller looks the same as the Xbox controller?

    • +3

Because Microsoft copied Nintendo then switched the ABXY buttons hoping no one would notice.

      • Sony copied Nintendo, Microsoft improved on the design. Then 15 years later this came out.

  • Alternative great controller that is designed to work great with a variety of devices, including switch…

$83 delivered (normal price at this shop) https://core-electronics.com.au/8bitdo-pro-2-bluetooth-gamep…

    Temporarily $75 at JB HiFi
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/8bitdo-pro-2-bluetooth-ga…

    • They are good controllers but their downfall is not being able to 'wake' the console when its in sleep mode.

      • Pressing the home button works for me.

        • On the 8bitdo-pro?

          • +1

@Damannation: Oh, sorry mate, i was talking about the NS Pro Controller.

      • Walk over to pick up controller, turn it on, turn on the controller, sit down - done.

I get it would be nice to have an arrangement that saves you 6 seconds. But this is a portable system with controllers people travel with. Those few extra steps ensure you can transport the console without it being turned on all the time.

        • I have this one and can confirm it wakes the Switch up. Also has been working great for me

    • Thanks for the idea. I just added my $10 perks and getting it for $65 :-)

      • Has anyone had experience with the 8bitdo Bluetooth Ultimate?

Which is better, the alternate 8bitdo controllers or the Nintendo Switch Pro controller?

    • +1

Nintendo Switch Pro replica controller for $49.95 - https://shop.tegal.com.au/collections/black-friday-sales-202…

Practically identical except for less nuanced rumble.

Very quick postage vs. getting the same replica from Ali for $29 and not arriving before the 25th.

    • do the 8bitdo's have gyro features?

      • Several of them have 6 axis gyro that only works on the switch, perhaps Wii and/or WiiU as well.

  • Argh bought one for $88 a week ago

you will love it OP. Bought mine at the last sale. We have 2 other non nintendo controllers and the geniuine one feels so much more solid and satisfying.

The best thing is the battery size in this is huge and lasts up to 40 hours vs 6-8 hours of the non nintendo ones.

My girls are using this one in preference all the time now for Mario Kart and hours on other games.

  • Love all my pro controllers but a word of warning I find the D-pad on all of them extremely inaccurate and mushy. If you're playing pad centric games like Tekken, DmC etc it's borderline infuriating. For everything else it's the bomb :)

    • Yeah they’re kinda shot and poopy. The limited edition runs are a lot better but alas they’re harder to get your hands on and even harder to find them on sale

I bought this but why the vibration is so weak? I expected to use this for other purpose too but it doesn't work

    • You tell us all what other purposes?

      • -1

        using it for PC games

  • +1

Fun fact: there is an Easter egg on switch pro controllers that says "THX2ALLGAMEFANS"

  • This or the Gulikit Kingkong pro?

  • I bought this during last month sale. Spent countless hours on Zelda and only had to charge once a week. Worth it.

  • Assume this doesn't work with PC? Anyone have a good recommendation for a budget wireless controller for PC?

    • +1

      8bitdo
Look no futher. Best of the best

      • This one was $40 and still selling $50 in other countries. 100 in Aus lol

      • Thanks. Better than the xbox carbon for the same price?

  • I got one from Ali ages ago but the OG ones are better for very heavy use over years.

  • +1

It's back to $89 at 15:40 on Saturday.

  • still on the best controllers for switch :D

  • Available again at $79

    • +1

Thanks, have updated the deal to remove the expiry
