15% off $100 and $200 Celebration Gift Cards (Redeemable at Officeworks) @ Coles (Instore Only)

2130

The latest instore gift card deal at Coles, taken from the upcoming VIC Metro catalogue.

For those not aware, Celebration gift cards are a gift card exclusively sold at Coles and are functionally extremely similar to Ultimate (Visa) gift cards. These gift cards are issued by Blackhawk Network, are only sold in $100 and $200 denominations, and currently have the following participating retailers:

Barbeques Galore, City Beach, Cotton On, H&M, JD Sports, Luxury Escapes, Officeworks, T2, The Iconic.

Officeworks was only recently added to the Celebration gift card, presumably around the same time it was also added to the Ultimate gift card scheme (end of September 2022). There is plenty of old stock with the Officeworks logo missing, but those gift cards should still be redeemable at Officeworks.

For every sale of a Celebration gift card, Coles donates 2% of the gift card’s face value to charity (and I believe that charity at the moment is Beyond Blue).

Deal terms and conditions

  • Limit of 5 Gift Cards per customer.

  • Offer valid only instore at Coles Supermarkets (excluding Coles Online, Coles Express and purchases via giftcards.com.au), subject to store availability. Whilst stocks last, no rain checks.

  • Offer valid from 14/12/2022 to 20/12/2022.

  • Refer to individual gift card for terms and conditions.

If you have a question about this gift card, please refer to the Ultimate gift card section of the gift cards FAQ. I have been working on updates to the FAQ to address questions frequently raised in the ongoing 15% off Ultimate gift card deal, which is relevant for this deal, as this gift card functions extremely similarly to Ultimate (Visa) gift cards.

                • @li1123k: I’ve used the ultimate and TCN ones in JB before, but haven’t tried these celebration ones before. The celebration ones were the ones you used at OW?

              • +3

@squarepants: Today I successfully used Celebration GC at OW to convert into Apple GC, one with officework logo and one without. Just note, to avoid staff drama regard split payment with GCs I went into the store twice to use the cards.

                • +2

@Wolfie: I was doing it in my first purchase, then get greedy using multiple cards to split the payments successfully for few times.
Finally got caught out today that I can’t use these GC to buy apple gc, guess I will start using one card at the time again lol

@WookieMonster: everytime they said "no" I asked why …then they have no idea, just call the manager who made up lots of excuses :) very funny

  • Are these hard to find?

Surprisingly not much chatter in this deal compared to other 15/10% off gift card threads?

    • I feel this is an awesome deal, It's just limited to where you really can use this card to purchases, which is not as high demand like Him/Her, etc. Hence not much chatter, but officeworks is great if to purchase anything really 15% off, is a huge amount. I'm just holding onto the card till the iPhone comes back in stock

With so many regular 15% GC sales, I wouldn't hold onto those for too long. It almost smells like a ponzi scheme where they are using lot of funds from new purchasers to cover the bill from previous month…

        • Pretty sure the sales will quickly dry up given once we are past the Christmas season. But yes, I wouldn't be holding onto these any longer than necessary.

  • Can anyone confirm what options are available on the swap website? https://exchangecelebration.com.au/

Lucky for you, I took a screenshot yesterday evening and shows this:

      • H&M: $5-$500
      • City Beach: $20-$500
      • Luxury Escapes: $5-$1000
      • BBQ Galore: $20-$2500
      • Cotton On: $20-$500

        Thanks!

  • Brilliant deal. Got laserjet toner and mechanical keyboards with this gift card cheaper than anywhere else.

  • Does The Iconic allow these to be used online in split payments?

    • Pretty sure no. Which is useless given the things I'd like from The Iconic is usually more than $200/$100.

You can exchange a Celebration gift card for a digital gift card from The Iconic through the Celebration gift card exchange facility, which means you can use 1x The Iconic digital gift card and 1x Celebration gift card in one online transaction, so you can in theory spend up to $400 in one online transaction. I believe you cannot redeem more than 1x The Iconic gift card in one online transaction, but someone will have to correct me if I am wrong. Just keep in mind that redeeming a The Iconic gift card will most likely void cashback from Cashrewards, Shopback, etc.

The Iconic is actually one of the only retailers in the Celebration gift card scheme where they have written FAQs for how to use Celebration gift cards on their website.

Thanks WookieMonster. I continue to be amazed at your wealth of knowledge in this space!

Can I use this card to buy Officeworks Gift Cards in store at Officeworks? What using these to buy Visa prepaid cards in store at Officeworks?

  • When does the card expire -
    3 years; or
    2029?

    • +1

The balance on a Celebration gift card expires three years from the date of issue.

However, the expiry date you use for card-not-present purchases (e.g. over-the-phone purchases, online purchases) and for adding the card to a mobile wallet is 12/29.

Thanks! Got 3 x $200 cards for $510. Got OW to pricebeat Umart for a Brother MFC-L8690CDW (Umart price $679). OW pricebeat price $645, so out of pocket $555 for the printer.

    • Any issues using multiple celebration gift cards in store?

      • +4

No, these are treated more like credit cards than gift cards. Lady was quite helpful, I just told her I had multiple cards for payment, 1st one $200, swiped card entered pin… approved, and repeated process until full payment was made.
Store was Southport (QLD), we have a local Umart so they are happy to pricebeat.

        • +4

Yep I can confirm this too. Also did a purchase at OW in-store over the weekend using multiple celebration gift cards (1x $100 and 1x $200) to pay for one item. Told the cashier how much was on each card and used up each by swiping and entering pin.

Worked great for officeworks despite no logo thanks

  • Bought $700 of these to price match Telstra for the pixel 7 at Officeworks . Went to 3 different Officeworks today and said I wasn't allowed.

    Far out

    • Why wasn’t allowed? As in using multiple gift cards?

      • Said they wouldn't price match Telstra

        • +1

I got them to. Where do there terms exclude Telstra?

          • +1

            @VehemenceThePhoenix: In the "manager's" head.

Officeworks price match is always reliant on someone else even if you have everything in order. Just depends on who you get.

            • @t25: Yeah. My first staff member was hesitant, but the manager was chill. I could have given up with the first staff member though. I didn't ask for the manager, they just wanted them to come approve it.

          • @VehemenceThePhoenix: They said something about orders from head office to not price match Telstra as you need to be a Telstra customer to get the deal.

  • stupid question, from where do I buy a celebration gift card?
    coles or woolies?

    • +2

Coles but I think is offer already expired on the 20th
