Can anyone confirm which platform you get the cdkey for?
It is a code that allows you to either get a Steam or Windows store version.
If that's the case, install via Steam. MS store games are a huge PITA.
I purchased AOE IV via MS store and later purchased on Steam because it gave me the shits that much.
I ordered it and seems to be a physical printed code. I think you can redeem Steam or Microsoft Store once you have the code

This had a free weekend a few months back. Can't say I'd recommend it over just getting AoE2 with whatever relevant upgrades.
