Beyond 30 day window, physical store is easier for warranty returns.

    • Depends on your address, for me (Sydney's north west) it is showing delivery by 9pm tonight.

        That's delivery.

AlexF is referring to the Amazon 30 day return window. They can be a bit of a pain with in warranty products that fail, outside of their own 'return window'.

I had an Xbox controller fail outside of 30 days and they made it out to be like they were doing me a huge favour in accepting a warranty return.

I got a refund and purchased one from Big W instead after that.

and they made it out to be like they were doing me a huge favour in accepting a warranty return

Experienced the same with Amazon. On the other hand, every retailer I dealt with acted the same way. "As a one-time act of good will", my ass.

        • Ive had very good contact with amazon even going far in refunding or replacing $1000+ products into their 2nd year. If its sold and shipped by amazon and not a third party retailer its easy for them to do otherwise its up to the seller.

Jb hifi customer service is probably the best I have ever encountered. I returned a filter fan/heater that started making a creeping sound after 12 months. they gave me a full refund and i bought the same item for 45% cheaper and with a new filter in it. they also said if i had exchanged the warranty would renew from the replacement date and not the initial purchase date. First class service.
Plus the money doesn't go to tax avoiding jeff bozo who threw a tantrum when he found out he would also have to pay gst.
Jb also has a pretty good reputation on how they treat staff. AMAZON Is pretty evil in how it treats disposable staff IMO.
If you can, always buy from local jb that pays staff well and contributes way more to our economy and taxes IMO

  • No back paddles can't play without back paddles.

four controllers vs back paddles DualSense Edge $340 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/732592 :(

      Aftermarket/third-party alternatives comparable?

Use toes on a USB controller for even more multi-tasking?

    • I have the XtremeRate on my PS5 controller. Doesn’t feel as good as the official Playstation one on the PS4 controller but it does the job. Loved that the PS4 one was a plug in and was hoping they’d release the same accessory for the Dual Sense but I don’t see it happening with the Dual Sense Edge release.

      • I need 4 back paddles, so my ps5 literally goes to waste as i have to use the xbox elite. Crazy they only have the option for 2 back paddles and not 4. Playstation is an enormous let down in their controller development.

Razer have just released a PS5 controller…although it's even more expensive than the SCUF at a whopping $475

@Abraxsas: What the holy f is that.

How could they possibly think $475 is a reasonable price for a controller?!?

That's 2/3 the price of the PS5. It better be writing essays and doing my taxes for that price.

It's a pity that these aren't backwards compatible with my PS4 Pro console.

    • +2

It is backwards compatible with PS3.

  • bought one and used on PC, perfect controller for Sony games.

    • do you need any special software or dongles to use this on PC ?

      • +1

to make everything work you need to connect to PC via a USB type C cable

Is PS5 or the Xbox Series X/S controller better for PC?

    • Xbox unless you have a strong personal preference for the ps5 controller.

    • +4

Xbox controllers have a better native driver support. PS5 controllers require you to launch Steam or use an unofficial driver like DS4Windows to fully utilise the controller. Steam officially supports DualSense and it's fantastic as many games on Steam now support adaptive trigger and touchpad. I'd go with PS5 controller.

    • Xbox if you prefer batteries that last longer. DS if you prefer being able to charge via cable instead of changing AA batteries. My batteries never go flat because I always charge when I'm done, so I don't have to go through the cumbersome task of removing the batteries, finding charged ones, replacing them, then charging the flat ones.
