I used my Elite wired for probably 12 months before I grabbed an adapter for my PC. It's a small thing but really makes the experience so much better.
If your Bluetooth connection is unreliable this adapter can help, it also supports audio which I believe Bluetooth doesn't.

Just bought earlier today from JB and have been playing Rocket League with it for the past few hours. Feels a lot more grippy than the original Xbox One controllers on the triggers and on the back.
Yeah the new controllers have USB C and grip textures where you described :) I just got one a couple of days ago
The wireless adaptors are rare as hens teeth, most of the ones online are fake. This is a good deal.
Not bad considering it's really hard to get the wireless adapter at the moment!

Recently got an el cheapo from Amazon because I couldn't find this package with the adaptor.

I paid a few dollars less for the version without the adapter on amazon just a few days ago :'D. That being said the bluetooth works fine with the motherboard's attachable wifi antenna, which seems to be necessary for a lot of people.

Yes. I price matched this exact item yesterday at JB and had no issues.
Make sure to get Xbox Accessories app. I recall having issues pairing until I got that installed and seemed to work perfectly from then on. YMMV though
