This is the best file manager I have tried by miles and I have tried quite a few. I like the lower price - still exxy but I reckon I will get it now…

Pretty sure I was using this on my Amiga 500, back in the day.

    • You were… There was a version for OS/2 as well, very popular with BBS Sysops ;)
Pretty sure it was free to use donateware back in the day?

  • There are several free programs similar to this (Free Commander being the best IMO), but none of them have the sheer number of features as Dopus. Once you start using it it's almost impossible to go back to the awful default Windows file manager.

Already bought it. Just thought I'd chime in & say it's the best file manager I've ever used. There are so many features in it, Every now and then you discover a new way to use it.

I''ve used DOpus since v7 and agree that it's simply the best file manager ever. Whenever I setup a new PC, it's the first app to be installed. I can barely remember how to use Explorer.

  • The price is wrong. It is actually $49 + gst = $53.90 if you live in Australia.

So if all of the above infrequent OzB posters are unanimously enthusiastic for this product why aren't they/you giving a plus vote for this posting…? At the moment only the Frog has a +ve vote in this thread.

And all have similarly very good grammar, spelling and punctuation and no use of acronyms.

    • I tried the demo version a while back and it seemed good, but did not proceed due to cost and I was not spending that much time using explorer.

I uninstalled it but some shrapnel was left, which was a bit annoying.

Seeing as I am doing more file transfers now from my win7 machine to the rest of the pc's on the home network I will probably get this, it is just expensive.

      No positive from me because:
      1. it shouldn't be more than this price anyway
      2. the price is wrong.

That doesn't mean it is not good, but it also is probably overkill for many.

  • It really is one of the best and comprehensive file managers out there. Could not recommend it highly enough. To be honest, the rrp has always put me off buying it but this sale brings it down to what I consider very close to the mark. If you want Directory Opus then buy it now cos it doesn't go on sale very often.
Grabbed my copy yesterday and can't wait to start customising it.

  • got 1 thanks OP!
