    Original battery or replacement?

    • This is gold

    • +4

We do battery reports on all the units. If the batteries are not good, then we replace them.

      • +3

what level of wear on a battery do you deem "good"?

        • +16

Generally, we run them through discharge test from 100% to 0%. The softwares we use tell us if the battery is good or not.

Apart from that if you run battery test from command prompt you can tell health of the battery, and if there's any abnormal behaviour.

Above 80% health is something we deem good.

    What’s been refurbished specifically?

    • +3

Might just be 'reinstalled windows and a quick wipe down'.

      • I couldn’t find anything on the link that says this is even refurbished. The title is misleading IMO.

        • And OP isn't replying to any questions about it.

      Hey,

It depends on unit. Some units would need battery replacement, some would need key replacement and some would require a newer ssd.

We have a fairly comprehensive inspection and testing process. This involves battery testing, hard drive testing, wiping, reloading fresh windows, updating, examining screen for bruising scratches, removing stickers etc. It can mean adding ram, replacing a battery if needed as well as generally we clean and polish everything. Refurbish generally means it has had a thorough once over and anything needing fixing fixed so it is in good operational condition / returned to original condition (or as close to as possible). Some units need minimal, some need a bit.

        Thanks for clarifying.

  • Whats the battery life?

  • My 2017 X1 Carbon is still going strong but if it wasn't i'd happily grab one of these.

    • I have a X1 Carbon G4, got it brand new for $650 from a deal years ago. I saw a store on ebay a few days ago selling used ones for $299. It's very slow now, quite painful to use compared to my M1 MBA. But still OK for basic tasks. I just replaced the battery on it, $45 on eBay.

      • @altlas
        @nubzy

Are you both talking about this same unit posted here?

        • No it's a carbon. Different to Yoga. I've got a gen 5 Carbon. Mine runs fine. This Yoga is a good deal if you need an i7 and 16gb. My gen 5 i5 + 8gb suits me fine. We also have a gen 4 carbon and doesn't lag for browsing and general work emails. Paid close to $400 used for a gen 5 so this Yoga is a no brainer.

  • Anecdotally, batteries on this specific gen have been more problematic when compared to most other Lenovo laptop's my work (ASP) has come across.

Never will I buy a Yoga tab after the one I had screen would crack while it was in it's bag sitting on the passengers seat, after the first replacement then it happened immediately again … Nah!

    • Just baught a Yoga 2 in 1 7i and the screen had a hair line crack in the corner had it replaced ok so far.

    • +11

Lenovo Yogas are lower build quality compared to a ThinkPad X1 Yoga.

      • Yet the retail was well over $700, you'd expect some build quality, I've had el cheapo Android tablets work well till the battery died after over 5 yrs and the thing looked beat.

      • Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd

        So which one is this?

        • the one on this thread . ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd

  • like everyone, want to know condition of battery. how much battery time would I expect? is the battery easy to replace if there are issues?

    • We ship good battery health units. Easier to replace as well if need be

      • realistically, how many ours between charges should I expect in real world usage, as I often will need to use it on the road?

    • Look up battery replacement videos. I don't know this specific model but I've done a few lenovo replacements of other models and they've been very simple. As long as the battery isn't behind the screen you should be okay.

      • +1

I have this with the higher i7 cpu and qhd screen. Battery replacement is easy to do. Just take the bottom cover off. Battery is held by screws. Undo the and replace battery. Thats it.

  • also any chance it has office pre installed?

    • +1

Office 2021 can be installed for extra. Reach out to our sales team at [email protected] and they can help you out.

If this were an LTE unit then it would be a great deal. i7 of this gen is probably not worth paying a premium for, but 16gb ram and Win 11 compatibility makes it reasonably future proof. Replacement batteries can be had for well under $80 on eBay, and ThinkPads are easy to crack open for servicing.

  • I like this deal, but just can't afford at the moment. Hope there is a Santa Claus

  • Any thoughts on value of getting the 512gb model - is it worth the price difference?

  • Reviews are glowing not sure same unit.
    It says hdr screen
    500nit , ips
    Nvme ssd
    tb3
    usb c charging
    Sdcard

I wish this is on ebay i have lots giftcards

  • another refoo bargain

  • Does this have 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports? You mentioned 1x in the description, but looks like there are 2x in your photos.

Also, is the webcam IR (for Windows Hello?)

  • Also, these should have two USB C ports not one as listed on the spec. Of course, one gets tied up for charging, but that can be done through a hub / dock.

    • Yeah i think they didnt do the listing seriously for this item

  • Can this run 2 exteranl screens at fhd? With this ?

    Thank you kindly

is it glossy or matte screen?

how does this compare to a surface book 2?

    • +1

Surface book 2 might be in stock.
      This one is not.

  • +1

Are these sold out? Are you getting more stock? Was about to order a 1TB version.

  • Those Latitudes are excellent machines, having USB-C makes them expandable like no previous Latitudes were, the E series drove me nuts as they constantly disconnected once the port wore just a little, the USB 2 models before USB-C when paired with a USB 2 replicator required a PSU for both laptop and Replicator, where if you buy a Dell USB-C replicator for a USB-C equipped laptop the replicator gets power and charges the laptop

There are 5580 latitude models in A grade condition on the "Refurb" shop on Amazon for and $350 delivered, they come with a NMVE HDD and have the older SATA port, with a small hack you can run both the NMVE and a SSD.

  • We'll be processing orders over the Christmas.

Mine has hit Sydney already. Here's hoping for a surprise delivery tomorrow, rather than having it sit for a week.

    • Waiting for your review

      • Santa didn't visit. It made it 2kms away by Friday evening, and that is as far as it got :(

      • Delivered this morning at 7:30am, I feel the condition meets their clean 'excellent' description. Been using it all day and battery testing puts it at 87.6% capacity.

        • thunderbolt 3 port? one?

        • I'm curious to know if it was LTE enabled. Was not on the published spec, but not uncommon to luck out with that.

          • @zbc: If it dont say it its unlikely.

The sim slot might be there but you would need the lte card and antenna

            • @xoom: Yeah, it has the nano SIM slot at the back but no WWAN card inside.

        • Enough battery for a full school day? Considering one for my son starting Yr7. Reviews I've read online say battery life is underwhelming.

          • +1

@bennythejet: The i5 with $80 Ebay replacement battery will do just fine. This i7 might struggle more though.
