Oooh great deal pixel 7pro was highly rated in the camera of the year award from mkbhd

    • +20

You left out that pixel 6a won.

      • +2

        6a better than 7 pro?

        • +5

          yes. people's choice award.

        • There was 3 categories, with no telephoto category.

        • +1

          5 better than both

      • Haha yeah I actually forgot about the results even though I had watched it just before posting xd.

    • -4

Good luck selling Oppo on the second hand market

      • +14

why am i worry about selling?

      • Keep any phone for 2 years and it's worth 10% of retail, it doesn't really factor into the equation in buying a phone anymore mate, they aren't cars.

        • +6

          Except Apple phones

          • +2

            @Circly: apple phone lose 50% (1k) after 2 years

    • +3

been using the Pixel 7 Pro a few weeks now, with latest updates. doesn't seem too buggy to me. what sort of bugs were you noticing?

      • power off when i try to charge it (I can deal with this) https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/y4y1sl/pixel_7…
        touch sensitivity (deal breaker) https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/y69kic/anyone_…

slow charging(not a bug) but come on, the oppo charge at 80w, full charge in 10-15mins

        • Get a replacement? Why live with that annoyance

          • @PR0r: got full refund after using for a week from google store.

        • -3

I see that they haven't progressed since the nexus

        • +10

Whilst that couuld be handy on the odd ocassion, it's also a battery killer.
Faster charging = shorter (overall) battery life, and higher risk of a fire or explosion.

I've gotten pretty good at knowing when to charge my phone so that I'm not caught short.
Most phones charge "fast enough" these days.

          • -1

@TheMoose: its all about tech. when we only have 10w charging and a phone has 20w you will say the same. one day google/apple will get to 80w.

            • @SS625: The recent prevalance of fires around the homes due to Lithium based batteries says otherwise.

Until they can find a safer battery tech or a safer way to charge existing ones, then there will be limitations I'm willing to accept - like slower charging - just to maintain better safety and more reliability.

              • -4

@TheMoose: you must be one of those EV haters too

                • +4

@SS625: If it burned down my house, yeah, I'd be hating that.

                • @SS625: Can only hope ! the great rock and roll swindle ….

          • @TheMoose: For this reason I still use the charger from my original LG Optimus, it's going on 12 years old or so and still going, only 300mah or so at least

Aslo same reason it's not worth using wireless chsrging

    • +3

Really wanted one when it was $900 with tablet redemption.

But now any deal feels like I'm missing out in comparison 😥

    • +4

Never had a problem with pixel 7 Pro.
Amazing and better than my S22 Ultra.

      • better how?

      • +1 I've had my 7 Pro for a couple of months and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. The photos are absolutely outstanding, especially the 5x zoom is really impressive.

I haven't come across any bugs so far - had a single system freeze on the Netflix app the other night and had to restart, but that's my only glitch to date.

    • 2 weeks on and experienced no issues at all.

Mate bought it on release, and he had issues, but updates have resolved that now.

    • had the pixel 7 pro (512GB) on release, not one bug. Stuck with it and haven't been happier.

    • Downvoted for saying the truth lol pixel fanboys are really something else

  • +5

Pixel 6A got 1/16 in MKBHD 2022 blind camera test.

  • Is this a new lowest price for the 7 pro?

    • -4

I got pixel 7 pro during black Friday cheaper than this
      Paid
      $1299
-$300 instant Google credit (got it next day)
-$262 price matched with Officeworks (1299-1037=$262)
-129.9 Google one 10% discount on full price

Works out to be around $610
Add $25 for Google one membership (12.24*2)
Round off you get $650 7 pro 128gb

      • +1

-$300 instant Google credit (got it next day)
-$262 price matched with Officeworks (1299-1037=$262)

I'm so confused as to what you mean here. You had $300 google credit (which everyone had access to at the time for BF) and then did a price match with office works…. and somehow arrived at $262 extra off the phone?

What sort of math is this

        • -1

I paid $1299 at the time of purchase and officeworks had same phone at $1037
Google did price match and returned the money in bank account. $1299-$1037=$262

          • @maxmadman: They would only pay the $262 so you paid $1037-$300 Google credit = $737

      • Unsure why people are downvoting you, I got the same great deal black friday. Only thing is, you get the google one credit based on your price matched price (1037), not the rrp (1299), only about $25 difference.

Still unsure what I'm going to do with the store credit - maybe their nest mesh system.

        • Thanks mate! Wasn't aware about it. I'll receive google one credit this weekend.

      • how do you use google credit then price matched with office work?

        • No lads, on the time of release; google was giving out an extra $300 of google credit after purchasing a phone. maxmadman did not use google credits to reduce the price of the phone. RE: the price match, maxmadman purchased the phone at price listed on google and then spoke to their chat and got a refund of the difference since Officeworks sold it cheaper.

Hope this helps me lovelies xx

      • es please explain, I don't understand how you get that price. how does the 300 credit comes into the price match ?

        • +1

          Hello everyone
          Full explanation here
I bought full priced phone ($1299) from Google store at BF deal.
Once the phone is dispatched get in touch with Google and get it price matched with 5 approved Australian supplier. I did price match with officeworks.
          $1299-$1037=$262
You get money back in your bank account whatever the difference is.

As part of BF deal I got $300 in Google store credit. Hence,
          $1037-$300=$737

You get 10% off on all Google store purchases if you have google one membership.
I bought membership for this purpose. It cost around $12-$12.5 per month. You need to hold it for 2 months.
          $737-$103.7 = $633.7

I hope it helps. Any questions please feel free to ask

          • +1

            @maxmadman:

            $1037-$300=$737

I dont think you can deduct the $300 credit from your overall cost, as you'll still have to spend it, that too only on the Google Store. If anything your overall costs will calculate out to be something like mine here.

          • +2

@maxmadman: Thanks for explanation, so you got it for $933 after the price match. Still a bit better than this deal yeah, wonder if Officeworks will have a Boxing Day sale on it that we can do the same method with this code for.

$633+$300 since that $300 google credit is stuck in your account and not deducted from the phone purchase price right? You can’t deduct that from the price of phone as there’s no way to get that back into your bank.

          • @maxmadman: Thanks,
but when did you use the 10% off Google One Sub? Is it cashback? Or you added the coupon in your cart, thus the price to match was 1169?

I personaly bought it day one, 10% off code received via email = $1169 , and $300 credit = ($869)

    • +2

Wasn't able to take advantage of the $300 google credit deal, but I got 15% off celebration gift cards.
Bought $1000 worth, cost me $850.

Spent them at Officeworks, pixel 7 pro is $1037.

      $850+$37

      $887

  • Do you guys think the price for Pixel 6a will go further down during Boxing day?

    • +2

      Yes. But probably not

  • I'm looking at buying 2 of the 7 pro, I don't have google storage 2tb to get the 10% credit. Few questions,
    1) Is there a cheaper way than paying $12.49 a month (Assuming i can just pay till the credit arrives)
    2) When will the credit arrive and can i use the credit to buy the 2nd phone,
    3) will I get a second lot of credit

Thanks in advance for any help

    • +1

The 10% credit from Google One takes about 30 days to arrive, by the time you get the credit, this deal will be long gone.

Keep in mind that you can pay the $12.49 for 2TB with google opinion rewards credit if you have it, don't downgrade the plan until you get the credit however.

You should get a second lot of credit for your second phone purchase (double check terms that it's not 1 per customer), you could use that to buy accessories/cases/earbuds etc.

    • +1
      1. You can buy a Google Play Store gift card at discount to pay for Google One membership. Woolworth is currently running 10% off on Google Play gift cards.
      • Link please.

It is on this week 21/12 to 29/12 catalogue. You should see it.

Happy to take requests for Google Store codes. Student Beans generate the codes every hour while UNiDAYS is every 24hrs. I’ll work on the dms on first come first serve basis

    • Hey buddy

      • Plz send me a dm with which model and I’ll generate a code for ya :)

    • I would love a code, thanks. Hazel 7 Pro 128 plz. Just PM'd you too.

    • May I have please have a code for the 7 pro thank you

      • Hey mate, absolutely! Plz send me a dm and I’ll generate one for ya

    • Hey mate, tried DM-ing u but I've only just created an account so I can't. I'd happily wait a day but the deal ends today, so was wondering if you'd mind sending me a DM with a code for the pixel 7 pro? Thanks for considering!

  • Is price in title including the student beans discount ?

    • +1

Yes includes the 5% off (full price).

  • Good deal.

Pixels outperform Galaxy phones all the time, and now pricing is much more favorable as well.

Samsung seriously needs to step up its game

    • they have the marketing budget (sponsors, ads etc) which still generates the revenue for them. many people know Samsung as the Apple alternative. how many people know Google sells phones?

      • …everyone?

      • +2

Google has done plenty of advertising online and on TV for the Pixel.

        • not in the past, compared to Samsung.

    • +1

No it doesn't? Samsung has and does a lot things that Google and Apple don't. S-Pen is a game changer for many. The zoom on the Ultras is insane. They have the Fold and the Flip. They also have the Galaxy Tab S8 series which are great tablets. Google doesn't even have a tablet. Samsung are doing fine and do not need to step up their game.

I say this as someone who doesn't prefer Samsung. It's Pixel > iPhone > other stock Android phones > Samsung > others - for me. I also have an irrational distaste of their squircle icons.

    • +1

Not sure what you mean… Pixel uses Samsung components…. The galaxy s range is voted overall best phone pretty much every year… Have you seen the s22 ultra? Beats any phone out there.

  • +1

Don't forget to sign up to google one 2tb for 2 months.

"Get 10% back in store credit on Google Store purchases."

    • +1

So we sign up to google one 2tb for 2 months first and then purchase the phone, that's the point, right?

      • +2

        Yep

      • +2

Sign up now, purchase the phone. Google will give you the 10% credit 30 days after they dispatch your phone, meaning its likely going to be around 33 days from the date of purchase, so you'll end up paying for 2 months worth of 2TB storage (around $25).

        • That's even more clear now, thanks. So if I purchase Pixel 7 Pro for $1049 (before the Unidays discount), I'd end up with ~$100 Google Store credit after investing around $25 extra.

          • +1

@pizzaguy: Yes, you'll get $104.90 in store credit and would have paid $25 for storage, so overall cost benefit would be ~$80.

    • Any suggestions for best use of this store credit?

      • Pixel buds pro. Best earphones out.

  • Im a bit confused, so please correct me if I'm miscalculating this:

    1. Google Pixel 7 Pro 512GB is originally $1599 on the Google Store.
    2. With Unidays I get 5% off that price so it comes down to $1519.
    3. Then I get $250 off that amount, bringing it down to $1269?

    Is this right?

    • $1269.05, that's correct.

      • Thanks. I think the deal I scored initially was a tad better:

        1. Google Pixel 7 Pro 512GB for $1599, with a 10% discount code from Google themselves bringing the cost down to $1440.
        2. $300 credit from Google.
        3. Another 10% Google credit from the 2TB Google One subscription (valued at $144).
        4. Another 10% from TRS (as I was going overseas) off the original price as per the invoice ($1599), valued at $160.
        5. Paid $25 in 2TB storage.

With the $100 drop in price on the Google Pixel Watch from $549 to $449, I already had $444 in store credit, so ended up paying $5 for it with free delivery (and $0.50 store credit as a result).

All up I paid: ($1440-$160)+$25= $1305 + $4.50 = $1309.50 for the 512GB Pixel and Pixel watch delivered and 2 months of storage.

  • +5

Should i wait for s23 ultra or just go google 7 pro?

  • +1

Really hope they could do trade-in bonus.

  • Hi guys sorry I am new to Google Store, how can I get the 10% discount code from Google? Thanks for any tips….

    • No such thing AFAIK.

You get 10% store credit for anything you buy on Google Store if you have Google One 2TB subscription. It's here after you scroll down: https://one.google.com/about

So you log in to your google account, buy the 2TB ("Premium", regular price: $12.49/month) subscription, it activates right away, so then you buy the phone (discounted prices as in this deal) and get 10% credit within a month from what I heard here, so most probably you'll need another month of Google One (so another $12.49) to receive it.

  • Damn, haven't used unidays in a while but looks like they cracked down on alumni emails. Has worked for years but now it just keeps re-directing me to use their graduate app lol. Can't even see any deals on the site anymore unless I log out. Oh well.

  • coupon is valid for watches.

    • Where do you put the coupon? There is no field for voucher/coupon when checking out…

  • i used pixel 6a + %5 unidays coupon at checkout.
