Been using this for years. It's great

    • Dreame V9.. any ext/good for carpets?

      • +1

Been fine on carpets, the motorised head has bristles which are decent at moving objects towards the suction area

        • ok thanks. Will give it a go .. got one.. Thanks OP..

          • @WhyMe20: Delivered, Just what i needed .. decent suction .. the dust container filled up very soon ;-( ..

  • +2

keep in mind you gotta hold down the trigger, to keep it on

    • thanks for noting, that sounds kindof unnecessarily annoying..

    • +26

They really should ban semi-automatic vacuum cleaners

    • +1

You can buy trigger locks to overcome this issue.
Search on ebay/amazon/aliexpress for them… This one fits most units: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/363970125032

I don't like Dreame units, hard to find cheap replacement batteries and parts. This is why Dyson wins in my books.

      • +1

But you could buy 5-6 of these compared to 1 Dyson V8 vacuum

    • +2

Just use rubber bands. I do the same for my dyson.

    • I have a Dreame V11 and it has a trigger lock setting. So you can set it to toggle on/off on the button press.

  • Oooh kinda wanna pick one up. Thanks for sharing op

    • Do it. We have one. It works a dreame

  • +1

    V9 ok for hard floors?

    • +2

I was looking at this closely too.
I am think this Kogan version comes with a carpet head, not a soft cloth head which most reviewers online seem to have.
      Anyone know for sure?

      • Yeah exactly would like to know this

        • +2

Aaand it does seem to be the case that it's the carpet heads. Wells, cancelling my order I suppose

      • +1

I recommend getting the hard floor attachment, the one pictured is the standard carpet attachment. It works great but it definitely has a weakness to hard floors.

  • +1

Ok.. what are the equivalent Dyson Models? ..Bueller…Bueller…

    • +1

Dreame V9, sounds ever so slightly stronger than the Dyson V8 which is 115AW and T20 seems to be on par with the Dyson V10 at 150AW, as to how well they perform is another thing

      • +3

Specs are exaggerated. I have the dreamev9 and parents have the Dyson v8. Dyson has enough suction to stick to the floor. I’d say it’s comparable to Dyson v6.

        • +1

I went from Dyson V6 to Dreame. Dreame is definitely better but not massively so (until you include price as a factor).

  • Good price

  • -1

Excellent product from one of the finest French manufacturers… rivals a Dyson if you don’t look too closely or use it

    • +1

      French? Huh?

      • -6

I’m pretty sure that at least one French person made a contribution to the design… maybe. On second thoughts, this could be a classic British interpretation of the modern sucking tool of choice

    • +2

      Do you work for Dreame?

  • Want to get the t20, wish the 15% off gift card promo return !

    • 13 left! better be quick

      • Thanks bought one, just bought $300 kogan gift cards from ShopBack to save $18 but was scare it sold out before I redeem them, glad it works out. Was waiting for the V8 to go below $400 but hopefully this will be better than the V8

        • +2

I was just about to say - could also get $5 off with code: APPLOVE and 5% off gift cards @ giftcard exchange - use code: KOGAN-SAVE-5

hopefully some others benefit from these tips

      • Where does it show how many are left?

        • add at least 3 to cart then manually enter a random high number - it’ll auto adjust to the correct stock level. 9 left now!

          • @skido: Noted, cheers. I bought one (T20 pro!)

  • I think the t20 is the true bargain

    • +3

      V9 is better bargain

    • -1

It’s true bargain if it indeed comes with 2 batteries, hopefully someone can confirm, not someone bought from Costco though as costco sometimes have exclusive extra accessories

  • +2

OP Where do you see that the T20 offers 2x batteries? On the "In the box" they're not listed, I can't find it on the ad.

  • +6

Note that battery replacement for V9 is hard to get.

  • What is better for hard floors?
The Xiaomi Viomi A9 or any of these two??

    • A broom and a mop is much cheaper:)

The cordless type only last max 10 minutes. How many bedrooms to clean? I used wired one.

    • you can prolly get away with the A9 if it's just hard floors, I found it to struggle but still get the job done on my carpet apt

      • I found the A9 to be excellent on my hard laminate floor. More so than my older Dyson.

  • +1

thanks op! bought the t20 pro with 6% off shop back $200 e-voucher + $15 off with $100 spend commbank cashback , final price $288!

    • how do you get 6% off? it’s showing 2% on my end..

      • they have special 6% for $100 denomination, check your app

        • it’s showing 2% for all denominations in my app. ah nvm just found it now

  • +1

I'm scared it's another Trouver nightmare. Can anyone comment on longevity?

  • -3

I think samsung jet60 is better than t20.
Its good suction power and very happy to cleaning. Its 340dollar too

    • What makes it better

  • +2

Can you buy the hard floor adaptor head

  • +5

The dreame t30 can be bought from their official eBay store. You can then make an offer, the lowest I have got them to accept is $320 with free postage.

This can be stacked with ebay codes as well.

    Winning!
    https://www.ebay.com.au/str/dreametechnologyaustralia?mkcid=…

    • Damn should have bought this for a even lower price with codes and gift cards..

    • Does that come with one or two batteries?

      • Doesn't state two batteries in the description of what's included in the box.

        • Just did a quick look up. T30 is more powerful for sure, but it doesn’t have a soft roller head like the T20 pro. And also only has one battery. so I think they both have its pro and con.

  • +2

I've had the Dreame 9 for two years. Great vacuum cleaner and highly recommended. For this price it's a no brainer.

  • Pulled the trigger and ordered a Dreame V9 for my rumpus room. Let's hope the batteries last!

  • Any recommendations or commentary on a house with dogs? Its summer so the dogs are shedding quite a bit.

  • +1

We have had the V9 for a number of years and it’s still working perfectly, it is definitely not a whole house cleaner but awesome for spills or cleaning one or two rooms, at this price I’ll get a new one and move the old one to the van. No brainer!!

  • +1

Just be warned… the batteries on these are terrible & only last about a year or so… Mine lasted 14months & then just wouldn't charge. Wouldn't honor warranty as over 12months old.. new battery cost around $160.. not worth it.

    • Oh really? That's shit. I had an old Dyson that lasted around 5yrs before the battery died. Paid about $350 for it though. I guess you could always buy another Dreame V9 and still be cheaper than a Dyson equivalent. Plus you also get more accessories standard with the Dreame

      • Dyson has many battery options including aftermarket

  • -3

I have a V11 and it’s really crap. It’s ok as a little Dustbuster type unit but it is not much good as a proper vacuum. Not compared to actual power vacuums anyway. Still use our 10-yr old Bosch GL40 which is much better at cleaning the floors.

My V11 constantly gets blocked and chocked up with any objects the size of a 5C coin or larger. Even smaller things, little pieces of paper etc. Its only good at picking up dust or rice size particles. I use it only on Turbo mode too, or it doesn’t pick up a lot of stuff. Then when you turn it off, heaps of bits drop off the nozzle.

I wouldn’t recommend these at all. Maybe that goes for Dysons too though, I haven’t used one.

  • T20 says 1 x battery pack

    • And Dreame said the Pro includes an extra battery.

      • Where do you see this?

        • +1

Dreame said. That's what the Pro model is. Extra battery and attachments.

        • what OP is saying, the manufacturer says the Pro model comes with 2x battery.

          • @No ONE: But how was the message conveyed? It's not stated on their site.

  • Is that xiaomi brand?

    • Xiaomi ecosystem partner but not actually owned by Xiaomi. Hence why they don't use their name.

  • +1

I bought a T20 last year and it was DOA so got a refund. But hey, at this price I'm willing to be disappointed again.

  • +1

I can't agree with any of the positive reviews of the V9 vac. I reluctantly bought one 2.5 years ago because my wife wanted a stick vacuum and as someone earlier mentioned, this thing is probably as good as an old dustbuster. It really only works on turbo mode which drains the battery in a matter of minutes. I use it on mainly hard floors and rugs. I don't have experience with any other stick vacuums (and I am reluctant to spend more money on them) but I would certainly not buy one of these again. They are an absolute pain to empty, usually needing a long stick to dislodge the dust and debris, have poor suction and the runtime is terrible. Honestly, I'd rather a corded stick vac if they made them!

    Just my $0.02.

    • +2

      Your 2c saved me $145

    • +2

Can’t agree more with this. I bought a Dreame around 1.5-2 years back. Cleaning is an absolute nightmare with even the smallest stuff getting stuck at the vacuum head or the bin. Empty is also messy.

It is good if you have fine dust. The turbo mode cleans fine dust well. But it drains battery so fast.

I have since switched to a Miele C3 and never looked back.

  • Has anyone got any insight on how these perform on thick plush carpets? Happy for other recommendations for this use-case too.

  • T20 pro oos.

  • +1

I have nothing but praise for the v9. No need for a Dyson honestly. Had it a couple years and the suction is still fantastic. I clean mine out after every use and it picks up everything. Worthy purchase if you need one and don’t want to pay attention to the Dyson tax.

    • carpet or hard floors?

      • +1

Both, I believe the hard floor attachment is a necessity if you buy this.

  • I spoke with a Dreame Representative, (knowing well, that online representatives often state misinformation).

    They stated the following:

"In addition to this, kindly be advised that Kogan is not one of our authorized resellers, hence, we cannot guarantee what is included in their package. For reference, you may visit our Unauthorized Resellers page."

So I reckon, there is a good chance it doesn't come with a second battery, given the reset of the "In the box" description matches the T20 Pro model, (except the two batteries). Probably difficult to claim warranty as well, given they class it as a grey import…

    • It said AU model on the listing so I don’t think it’s grey import ?

      • Yeah, but they seem to class it as a grey import. I'd imagine it would still be difficult to claim warranty (even if it's an AU model) given they would likely want proof of purchase and Kogan isn't authorised to sell it (according to this representative?) But I'm not sure on that entirely…

        • If you go to the v9 listing on what is in the box section, it does not even have the battery listed as one of the items., so hopefully 1x battery pack on the t20 pro listing means 1 extra battery and the other one is already attached to the vacuum. Will see…

So does the T30 listing, it doesn’t even say 1 x battery https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/dreame-handheld-vacuum-cleaner-…

          • @ozvictor: Hopefully 🤞. I'm not speaking from any authority, and I'm just as hopeful my T20 arrives with two batteries, even if it doesn't, it's an ok deal. So I won't be too disappointed, but it would be nice 🙂

            • +1

@Haxxa: They should as it’s one of their main selling point for the T20 pro, even on the dreame AU YouTube video, unless Kogan open the package and remove the battery. https://youtu.be/m5nseeeiA8Q

    • One thing with Dreame is that if you're a store and buy from Dreame China and not Dreame Australia then the latter says you're unauthorised.

Let's hope someone reports back with it having 2 batteries.

  • +2

Had two break in a year. Battery problem

  • Did anyone’s order get cancelled? Not really happy because I bought gift cards via shopback and now it’s not being utilised 🥲

    • Damn that’s aweful, mine has been shipped

      • oh good.. im going to make a complaint to kogan if im the only one with the cancelled order :(

        • Mine was also cancelled. I paid outright with Kogan credit card credit. When did you order?
