Considering the last deal for a 3050 was $129 and the 7050 has gone for around $185, you may have to do a little better here to entice the clenched butt cheeks of the ozb crowd.

This must be the $129 price which you were talking about however it was for the SFF version and not the Micro. It was from Fusetech.

The Fusetech promo with 256gb storage was $169. So we've dropped our price to match theirs.

This popular deal for HP 800 G2 was better in my opinion.

        • how come?

@chickhen: Cheaper, front USB-C, 6 x USB 3.0 and better form factor overall. No wonder it got 128 upvotes.

Also, shipping was included in the price too.

            • @dealhunter52: Wonder if they even made a profit on that. May not be worth restocking at that rock bottom price.

              • @coathanger007: Not sure, must have sourced them pretty cheap and in large numbers too, I guess.

@dealhunter52: We have plenty of stock too but at this price point margins are puny. Makes sense if they just sell as is but updating bios and drivers takes time. Worth paying a bit more.

                  • @coathanger007: would be keen on the same device at a similar price point !

                    • @chickhen: Isn’t it only 10 bucks cheaper for their sold out 256gb version?

  • Is there a 16gb option?

    • May I ask what you’ll be needing 16gb for?

        Chrome tabs 😃

Personally I reckon upgrading these super budget potato systems is throwing money into a sunk cost.
You'd be better off upgrading this 9th gen i5 4ghz 6 core rig that comes with faster ram, double the storage, discrete gpu and a motherboard that officially supports Windows 11

@coathanger007: Not every one needs to run Windows 11, and also some people like to play games which require over 8GB of RAM. However the onboard Intel graphics will be a huge let down since it won't be able to play most games. However i think older tournament games like CS:GO should run on it.

Also for non game usage. I'm running the latest build of Windows 10. And i swear not just running two tabs on Firefox and Task Manager open. That in Task Manager it claims the system to be using 6.7GB of RAM just running idle. 8GB or RAM on a PC is really going to struggle with the latest Windows 10 build. Luckily my PC has 32GB of RAM. But damn i'd hate to be running 8GB of RAM.

I'd suggest these people buying this PC to upgrade it to 16GB of RAM if you want it be properly usable these days. 8GB of RAM just doesn't cut it these days on the latest Windows 10 build.

The 16GB DDR4 SODIMM RAM kit will set you back about $80.

Also not every one can currently afford even a 9th Gen i5 computer. You know peoples on a strict budget. That's probably why they're buying this cheaper PC.

@hollykryten: This is being sold as office PC. It really is out of the question to expect something so cheap to play games. Try the Opera browser. I only max out memory after about 25 tabs open.

Keep things cheap and close tabs that aren't used is our suggestion for this potato PC.

              • @coathanger007: It depends on what games. If it's old games then it will play without problems. For example you could easily play an old game such as say Battlefield 3 on it. It could possibly even play Battlefield 4 on a low graphics setting. CS GO might run ok but at low graphics.
