I have this monitor. It is the worst monitor I have used. Started having really bad backlight bleed after one year of use.

I have a higher specced 32" samsung curved…. same issue. Backlight bleed and artifacts at bottom of screen. Of course started happening after warranty period. Won't be buying Samsung again. Cost me a bomb and it hasn't lasted very long at all.

  • $159 / $209 for me

    • Need to have government store login

VA Panels are a grift unless you are specifically after contrast ratio.
    Overpriced for a work screen
    Not good enough for media/gaming.
Edit. also 1080p on a 27" is masachism

    • I find a good use is to buy this for older people. My dad was struggling with our old 21 inch so I got him this for Xmas and he loved it. 1080p is fine for him too

Any good recommendation for a cheap 27” non-gamer monitor?

Whats your budget? Dell is a pretty safe bet honestly, they have the volume advantage that means you can get a lot of screen for a really good price. I bought two S2721DGF monitors - they are a bit gamery but for $450 a pop thats nearly half the price of what youd normally pay for the same specs anywhere else

      • thanks for that, really looking for something cheap like under $200.

        • I use two of these working from home and there fine for everyday use. Occasional I use for gaming. But usally play ps5

        • Thats a hard one, what do you normally do with it? lots of excel and stuff? WFH? It really depends on your application too, like for excel 1440p is a better option because you can fit more on the screen

          • @doobey1231: Thanks both, yeh mainly chrome and excel. Will have a look

@rlamsydney: I reckon its definitely worth ponying up teh extra for a 1440p display personally, once you try it 1080p is gonna feel so limited, rule of thumb though is if you want 27 inches or larger you should go 1440p otherwise it looks pretty blurry. Good luck on your search!

          • @doobey1231: WFH - Work From Home
Training using Zoom and the training software that is a logistics system on the other screen.

Reviews for this monitor are very good elsewhere. Do people just have very high standards here? I bought a widescreen monitor from Aldi previously that some comments said wasn't great but it's absolutely fine for me (for WFH).

  • wait……are we still in the 90s. why tf is VGA still included?

  • anyone has a cousin working for the gov that can hook me up?

  • I have this, it's pretty good

    Thanks for sharing OP.

Btw, relatively similar pricing to most retailers atm. 27inch is $199 at JB - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-27-full-hd-curved…
