Ekkio Standing Desk Sit-Stand Height Adjustable Motorised Frame Only - $209.95 Delivered @ Oz Squares eBay

180
JANHNG

I've been looking for a standing desk frame and this is one which was on my shortlist (3 post and dual motor requirement). It was $299 but I see it is now down to $230 (no mention of a sale). Looks like a good deal but those in the know please tear it apart in the comments if it's no good.

This is a dual motor, 3 post frame (600-1250mm) but it can only handle 100kg and is quite slow at 32mm/s.

I'm comparing it to the Retail Display which can handle 130kg - https://www.retaildisplaydirect.com.au/Height-adjustable-sta…
And Amazon Aimezo which was on sale a few days ago (120kg) - shorturl.at/bcTY1

Why is JANHNG getting one too?

      • They don’t have to buy it, you just need to bring them with you.

  • I have the RetailDisplay desk and I'm overall pretty impressed with it. It's extremely sturdy, it was very simple to build, has more than enough movement from low to high, and does exactly what I expect it to do.

My only criticism is that their "cable management" solution for the desk wiring (between each motor, and to the control panel) is a collection of adhesive zip tie things. It would be nice if they had some sort of channel to keep them up and out of the way.

  • 32mm is a touch below the average of around 36mm/s. But at this price why are you complaining?

    • in the features it says 36mm

      • So mot really slow after all.

    • What's the rush?

    • A direct alternative in this frame of mind is to sit in one spot

This one lets you sit-stand! sit and stand simultaneously! Sit on the desk while the frame stands for you!

If over 100kg the desk just cannot stand you

"If over 100kg the desk just cannot stand you"

        Are you fat shaming?

It's almost like someone should make some kind of motorised desk that lets you switch between standing and sitting (which is also bad for you)

They could even put a motor in it that makes it go up and down.

The real benefit of this type of desk is that you can have your desk as tall as you want it. If you're short, your desk would naturally be shorter than the desk of a taller person. With a motorised desk, it's not one size desk fits all. Not only can you use it while standing, but you can also set it to a nice height when sitting.

    • haha

  • +points for referring to comparisons and prompting the tear down

Would be good to find the next mainstream frames with a horizontal stabilising bar connecting between the telescopic parts

Wobble reviews under different loads and positions

  • What sort of table top do you get for a frame like this?

    • Ikea?

    • I saw a video the other day of a guy that just put some black paint on OSB, lightly sanded it back and poured resin over it - the end result was pretty good I thought - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NdGMZ6oJwU.

  • Be aware they use HumterExpress to send the products. There's literally no contact details on their website in case you need to find someone to track down when is your goods.

I ordered this frame in white for $299 (dang that's $70 reduce in 10 days) on 1/1 and it is still no where to be seen. Latest update was from 2 days ago.

    • Can confirm. Shipping sucks. I ordered the other day but tracking still shows as not collected.

The once mighty JANHNG has been for downgraded

    silver also available

  • What does it mean frame only?
    No actual desk?

    • +2

You have to BYO top part yes.

      • Do you have to the drill the top into the frame or can you just let it sit there?

        • I will just sticky tape my computer to the frame thanks

  • It's out of stock :( I was trying to find the "add to basket button"

  • Does anyone know where to get a tabletops like 1800x800mm or similar in size? I only able to found most of them are 1800x600mm.

    • You can try chairforce website. They have solid wood walnut and rubberwood with 1800 x 800 (or x700).Though it’s not really a budget option imo when comparing to Bunnings, which doesn’t have your size from memory

  • Does this support 1800 x 800?

  • It seems they added more stock. 10 available, just bought one.
Also more info on this page such as
It is most compatible with desktops ranging from 60cm to 175cm in length and 60cm to 80cm in width.

Received mine today. No issue with delivery company, they were a little bit outside the delivery window they communicated but otherwise seamless. The parcel is 30kg !!

  • I've received my desk, 8 days after order, with tracking. I've put it together but still haven't attached the desktop. Took ~30 mins, very impressed with how bolts are individually packaged, you only need the hex key provided to build the desk, drill and screwdriver need to fit the desktop.

Overall very little wobble at full height, minimal wobble at lower heights, this should only improve with desktop fitted. Finish is very good without the usual scratches and metal shavings you usually see with cheap stuff, take note TrakRacer. Highly recommended, especially at this price.
