Cool, if you count the points this costs $89 effectively.

    • I don't think this Woolworths $99 sim includes 'international calls' 😕

  • So it's confirmed that you can pay with Gift Cards to buy a mobile sim. Though you just can't purchase Gift Cards with Gift Cards right ?

    • +2

Some (like Vodafone mentioned by others) may be OK, some are not. It is all up to the current setup in the system. I think the lastest update was supposed to make (e)GC and $EDR not redeemable on all SIM cards, as they are purchased like a giftcard requiring staff assistance.

    • +1

I bought some late last year. 2 amaysim & 2 lebara for porting out and back to amaysim. payment with gift cards declined, so used visa but used my monthly 10% off
      .

      • +4

I just tried buying the sim card with wish giftcard 10 mins ago. It got declined as item not allowed.

        • +1

Same here with a woolies egift card, not a simply groceries card.

Still an outstanding deal. Didn't realise amaysim had an exclusive $150 12 month long expiry plan with woolies. $109 after points is unreal.

    • Recently bought the $89 plan for the younger one, did not know about the 10%. Will have to include Student Beans check in future purchases.

    • No, I tried yesterday, but you can use the discount gift card.

    • Beans code not working for me

    • +1

studentbeans only for catch.com.au not catchmobile

      • Good to know, ta

Not working for catch.com either for this deal however. Voucher applies but no change in the amount due

  • 10% off excludes mobile recharge… anyone confirm it works with starter packs like this?

    • also would like to know please

  • +4

Woolworths amaysim has international calls to 28 countries too for 60gb 1yr but get direct from amaysim it doesn’t

    • That's good to know. I thought Amaysim at some point did include selected international calls, but no longer.

    • Do you have a link to which countries are included?

Found this previous deal so that's my assumption: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/677092

    • Based on the catalogue, only the 120GB plan from woollies comes with international calls. Amaysim doesn't sell any 10GB/year plan directly but the 180GB annual plan that it does sell also includes international calls.

  • I just found out this sim card can be activated as an esim. Might be a perfect sim for the sim-slutting crowd.

    • +4

but $89 for a year is far from actual sim-slutting.

      • +3

Maybe it’s time to settle down? Whatever makes you happy

      • +1

This would be the permanent esim. You'd use the physical sims for slutting.

  • Has anyone had success porting from coles mobile to amaysim? Or would I be better off porting to a non optus service first.

    • +2

Went Coles - Amaysim - Woolworths mobile without any dramas for each of the moves, all were active within an hour of starting transfer.

  • Hey guys,
My Boost is coming up for renewal, would I be able to port over to this Amayasim $6/8GB for a month and then port back to Boost as a 'new' customer?

    • I'm in the same boat.. wanting to know the cheapest with at least enough to make calls if I need

    • You don't need to. Just get a new Boost kit and transfer your number to the new card through online chat.

      • Please excuse my ignorance but isn't that like porting my number? If I'm already a Boost mobile customer how is this possible?

        • Porting from your old sim card to the new sim card, even though they are both Boost.

          • @sauxliu: Thanks for that, so I would need to activate the 'new' sim card firstly with their allocated mobile number, and then contact live chat to transfer my existing Boost mobile number over? I take it I will need to ensure the name matches 100%, can I use my existing email address when signing up to the 'new' mobile?

            • +2

@shockme79: Get your new card with you and talk to them. The rep will guide you through.

They just need to verify you are the owner of that number and that's pretty much it. Almost ready to swap the sim card over immediately in my case.

      • +2

It very much depends on which rep you get via online chat. I had one earlier today that decided I needed to go into a Telstra store. The Telstra store couldn't help (and documented this in the salesforce complaint ticket). Thankfully the next Boost rep did transfer the number.

  • +2

When the sim needs to be activated?

    • I have the same question.

Thinking it's Feb-15, according to T&Cs on Amaysim site.

Because this expires at the end of the week, think I'll wait to see what deals pop up until the end of the month when this expires which is the 1-year / 60GB / $99 that you can use with CR $14 cashback.

      • +1

Have 12 months to activate if there is no bonus data involved, like with the $149 long expiry plan.

  • The current $12 plan with amaysim is only for 2gig not 8 like the photo in the catalogue says - wonder what you would actually get when you activate? Could I use that Sim to activate on their on sale $30 plan for $10 with 70gig?

    • In the description it says 2GB + 6GB bonus data for 1st renewal

      • Amaysims website doesn't say that's the deal for a $12 Sim though - just says 2gig for first and all recharges - 2 isn't enough, but 8 would be plenty…

  • +1

If you buy directly from amaysim website there’s a $14 CB for the 60Gb one from shopback as well.

    • +1

This would be a better option if people need it soon, without having to wait. Also if you can access the 10% off it makes it cheaper ($89.10 minus $10 of worth points $79.10).

  • Just to confirm - I'm with amaysim now and I'm about to run out of data (but within 12 month expiry). This is my first plan I've had with amaysim so if I buy a new plan, this would fall under "first renewal"?

    • +1

I don’t think so. You’d be better off porting out (even the free Kogan plan or a cheap $2 sim) and then back into Amaysim with new pack.

  • Can I do number replacement with my existing number after buying this if I purchase this and activate then replace with my existing number (porting to Amaysim)?? anyone knows how this will work?

    • Chat to Amaysim, as i didn’t know you could?

    • +1

The $149 pack I just bought says it can't do number replacements on the pack.

  • +1

The 60GB sim also included international calls and sms:
    https://www.amaysim.com.au/119

    • Thanks I’ll fix it now.

      • Actually I checked and it doesn’t seem to anymore. It’s unclear. Maybe if anyone has checked in store they can let us know?

  • Is this Amaysim Woolworths SIM with Telstra or Optus? Anyone knows?

    • Optus. The Woolies uses Telstra

      • Thanks. I thought so, too. Waiting for Woollies SIM so that I can be with Telstra

        • +2

          Also on offer:
Buy half price pack @$20 it let’s you recharge to a one year 100gb, you pay the difference hence it’ll cost you $120. Or the 180 gb will cost you $180 by using half price pack.
Or if you need less data get 6 months $65 for 6 months

  • Has anyone bought this yet? Can you confirm if it includes international calling & SMS?

    • +1

Yes it does. I just bought this via esim on amaysim's website. Same price and took 5 minutes to configure

      • The 60gb plan on the website doesn't come with 2000 points, so costs $10 more. Also doesn't come with international calls. The "exclusive woolies" 60gb plan is different.

        • +1

          Yes, you're right

        • So to recap, there are 2 options.
          1. Woolies - Costs $10 less but no international calls and sms included.
          2. Direct purchase off Amaysim’s website - $10 more but has international calling & sms included?
This is the part that’s confusing for me. Hoping trying to confirm if the woolies exclusive has international bundle or not.

  • +2

    Thanks! Bought the 120GB SIM.

  • catchconnect has same deal but cheaper 89$
I think its using the same Optus network
    https://catchconnect.com.au/home/left-image/product/20

    • No esim, no international calls. You also need to wait for delivery. Also it’s the same price if you factor the rewards points. Amaysim has better customer support too. I have my child on Catchconnect as I still had an old $30 sim to use (2 years old deal where there was a price error) No problems with it, but if I was to choose now I would go with this amaysim.

    • +1

Catch also doesn't do data roll overs at all. No international on any current plan without extra fees. The $120 and $150 catch plans have no data or cost advantage over Amaysim. Just downsides. The $200 plan has a little more data but no data rollover eats up that advantage in my eyes.

  • The link for the international calls included is not working ; keen to check which ones are included
    https://www.amaysim.com.au/modal/international-28-countries.…

    • Check the links from the regular plans. The country counts are the same, so the countries should be the same.

  • I have an Amaysim 60gb 365 day plan atm, would be interested to know if i bought one of these Woolworths Amaysim sim if i could apply the new sim with my current sim?

    • +1

These starter packs aren't for sim changes. You'll need to port out to another provider then back in on this pack. Unless you're close to expiry, it wouldn't be worth buying this and sitting on it for up to 12 months (yes, this pack is valid for that long) as allowances do improve over time.

  • Is there any problems porting from Coles Mobile to Amaysim?(both Optus network) I'll probally port out to Telstra or Vodafone and back to Amaysim.

  • +2

This is a good deal, just bought from my local woolies. For those who are worried about International call inclusion, the pack clearly states "Unlimited talk & test to standard numbers in Australia and to 28 Countries".

    • +1

      Thanks Casper7 for confirming.

  • +1

Thanks OP bought 4 packs of 120Gb for my family.

    • That’s a lot of family :) Enjoy

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought the 120gb one. Does anyone know when do these need to be activated by? I don't want to activate it before the 30th of this month if i can

    • I don’t exactly how long but if end of the month you are pretty safe.

      • +1

I am looking at one right now and the back says activate witin 12 months of purchase

        • Ok thanks, think end of month should be okay then.

  • Does amaysim support visual voicemail?
