    Is this site legit?

    • +1

The store has been posted on ozb multiple times before.

If they're not banned by now, they must be at least… not terrible.

    • +1

I bought from last deal, they stuffed up and sent to p.o.box via company that doesn't deliver to p.o Box

      But otherwise its legit.

    • Bought a gpu from them in past, no issues

    • i know someone that bought a 5k system from them

    • I bought this exact same board from firstblood Amazon store around 3 months ago for $165. It was delivered on time, came in the original box and appeared brand new because the motherboard and all accessories came in sealed packaging.

I have a B450m that does the job, are there actual gains to be had from the upgrade? 5800x3d and 6900xt.

    • +4

Not really, just adds pcie gen 4 support

    • +1

      Bit better VRM and PCI4.0

      • Mate, do you have a MSI B550 Mortar or Tomahawk board by any chance?
If yes, would you mind going to your BIOS to see if there is any option for PCIe Bifurcation on your board? If yes, what are the supported modes?

It might be called PCI_E1 Lanes Configuration (in Advanced -> PCIe/PCI Subsystem Settings). Hoping it supports x8+x8, x8+x4+x4 and x4+x4+x4+x4.

        • +1

I have both a MSI B550 Mortor and B550 Tomahawk.. i got them on sale for $148.66 and $163 with a $40USD MSI Steam credit promo.. after selling my MSI B450 Mortor and B450 Tomahawk the upgrade to B550 was FREE

        • +2

I just checked my bios.. the PCI_E1 lanes config supports those 3 you listed and lets you change it from auto to one of them

    • +2

      Gains:

      • PCIe gen 4 x16 support for the Graphics Card
      • PCIe gen 4 x4 m.2 SSD slot wired to the CPU, and PCIe gen 3 x4 m.2 slot (wired to the chipset), compared to PCIe gen 2 x4 chipset m.2 slot for B450.
      • Maybe better VRM and better memory support.
      • BIOS flashback (if your B450M board doesn't have it).

      "Possible" losses:

      • If your B450M has USB 3.2 gen 2 ports, you lose them.
      • (Maybe) better sound chipset and more output ports.
      • You could lose a PCIe gen 2 x4 (in a physical x16) slot, assuming your B450M has it.
  • I’m about to buy an MSI B550M Mortar Wifi - is there any reason I should go for this instead?

    • +3

Probably not unless it's a lot cheaper and you don't need the wifi, the Mortar is a slightly better board.

  • Picked one of these up for $89.50 plus delivery about 18 months ago from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/631310
It's been a pretty decent board with no issues, running more or less 24/7 since i got it.

  • +1

    its cheaper on rambo.net

    • +1

I got the joke. well done boss :)

  • +1

Careful with this board if you are using Ryzen 5000 APU (e.g. 5600G or 5700G) since there are BIOS compatability issues for B550 Bazooka and Pro-VDH.

Having said that, I thought B550 prices were already nuts in November, but it's absolutely crazy now, so I guess this is a good deal in that perspective lol

  • Hey thank you i bought one just what i wanted to finish my build

  • Damn they cancelled my order i hope i get a refund soon 😔

    • MSI B450M Mortar Max $129 @ ACS

Try your luck? Those reviews on Google Maps though.

    • lol same thing happened to me. if i hadn't called them to submit my refund process they would've walked away with $169

      • Still waiting for it to come into my bank account 🙄 but they said they have sent it so hopefully i get refunded soon

        • still waiting as well hopefully its in by tmr or else another phone call
