Return and complain you have poor coverage

      • Note I have seemingly been barred from Vodafone postpaid since making a claim, which makes sense.

    • Vodafone Network Guarantee. Just say the speed and voice clarity is no good, you don't want to do any trouble shooting, you want to cancel. Then they will cancel the plan and you return the phone.

      • Actually - you'll likely get to keep the phone, because of the way these plans are structured. The Apple discount is not issued by Vodafone, and is not a device repayment on your plan!

Edit: Do not abuse this or it will be gone for good…

        • -1

You let people know that and then you want caution about abuse ! You can't have it both ways , so on this site you keep your mouth shut unless you want the world to know .

Seems like they’ve changed the terms:
“Not eligible for Bundle & Save or Network Satisfaction Guarantee”

Vodafone has absolute zero signal in my area. I wish it did but it is a shit network.

    • -1

Optus and Telstra have their own black spot locations. So that must make them shit networks also?

      • Optus is shit network too. In my work place i only get one signal and at home max two bar. Also im in Perth 15Km from the city.

There is difference between being a shit and being a total shit. Vodafone and Optus is the later.

Vodafone and Optus are both second rate if you travel

  • How do you get coles apple voucher as mentioned by OP

    • It is not $801 after 10% or 9% off. Calculate it again.

    Yawn…

Vodafone 5 gee is non existence except on only 6 streets in any capital cities which no humans can afford to live in.

    • Gee, didn't realise Parramatta consisted of 6 streets only. Also Rosehill has relatively cheap rent?

I jest - yes you won't get much out of Vodafone 5G.

    • You're funny! ( or maybe you just think you are).
If there are NO HUMANS living in those super exclusive streets, why should ANY Telco have a presence there?
Anyway, your statement is pure dribble. "Only 6 Streets in any Capital City can access Vodafone 5G.”
And you go on to infer that these Streets are in the Rich Prime real estate locations only.
      Name those streets?
I live about 13k from Melbourne CBD. I don't have a 5G phone, but I do know that Vodafone 5G is available in my location and works well, according to neighbours and locals who are using it!
Even if you're joking, it's not funny.

Good deal but you'll be on the Vodafone network. Highly unreliable. Unless you live right in the city and will never travel.

  • Have to agree with the comments, for my work area I had no coverage with the Vodafone network nor Optus. Only Telstra. Wish that wasn’t the case as Voda had a great deal for a Sim only plan through office works which I had to port out of back to boost after 6 months as I couldn’t handle the poor network coverage. YMMV.

  • Its not a bad deal if you were currently with Vodafone looking to resign a new contract with Vodafone.

  • Is vodafone really that poor? I live in metro melb and don't travel to regional..

    • +3

It's very patchy nationwide. In some areas (where you live) you'll be fine. But it's non-existent and very frustrating in others.
I live ACT metro and it's hopeless here. Drop outs just driving from suburb to suburb. OK in the middle of cities, but thinking it's only bad in "regional" areas isn't accurate.

There's an obvious fanboi or two commenting above, but Vodafail isn't worth the trouble regardless of the small discount you get to go with them. You say you never go regional, but everyone travels somewhere sometime. And then you'll know.

      • +1

All the phone networks suck in Canberra compared to Sydney or Melbourne… it's because it's classified as 'regional' in their eyes, something something needs a subsidy to invest in the network.

I switched to Vodafone from Telstra in October. I haven’t lost coverage at any point that i can recall, but the speeds definitely drop much more often. Like, waiting actually a few seconds for web pages to load, instead of less than a second.

It was pretty jarring at first, but now it’s only moderately annoying sometimes. Unless something changes when my contract ends, i won’t be staying with Vodafone.

  • @Tarun Tuli, how do you get 10% off the coles apple voucher?

  • +1

At the end of the day, reception is based on where you live and visit in relation to their towers

You could ask 1000 people who live nearby one and they would have a good experience with Vodafone, and you could ask the same of those who don’t live near one.

Same for every telco. I’m with Telstra and I get horrible reception, sometimes it drops to 3g.
But I also turn on wifi calling so that overcomes a lot of problems.

  • $1000 in Apple Store is worth $900 at most.
    $69 for 24 months is $1656
It literally means you pay $31.5/month and get locked to a Vodafone contract for 24 months. But if you are a heavy data user then 150GB sounds good but I'll just stick to my 12-months Woolworths mobile that works out to be almost free if you know how to take advantage of the 10% off monthly grocery.

    • -1

$1000 in Apple Store is worth $900 at most.

I don’t understand how the value is less if the voucher was used for an iPhone 14 Pro Max, which are rarely discounted elsewhere. As others have mentioned above, at least with this voucher you can pay the residual handset cost via 10%-returned WW/FlyBuys point gift cards.

      • It's not really a discount, you're really just putting $1000 on credit with Vodafone, unless of course you use the network guarantee…..

        • -1

$1000 discount on a 24-month contract = $1000 discount off the phone cost outright. This assertion doesn’t explain how the $1000 is worth $900 at most.

For the OPs context of purchasing an iPhone 14PM alongside a 24 month contract this discount seems reasonable and able to be leveraged further with gift cards towards the residual cost.

Again, explain how $1000 is worth $900 at most in this situation.

    iPhone 12-14 bugger all difference

    • Worth noting probably the biggest difference to the end user is the better cooling system in iPhone 13 and up, plus the larger battery. Makes a difference especially in summer and in the smaller phones.

  • So how do I get coles apple voucher for 10% off? Thanks for the help.

    • see my comment above

  • there's a reason why voda is cheaper than the other 2 because it has virtually non existent 5 gee coverage is at best a spinkle here and there. It is an awful netowrk to be on when they spend so little in expanding their coverage

  • I’m 10km ish out of Melbourne CBD and Vodafone is useless. If you can afford an iPhone 14 you can afford a better network. I ported to Vodafone prepaid in between waiting for Telstra/JB gift card deal and it was near unusable with many dead zones.

Why have an iPhone 14 with the latest 5g modems when your phone can only get Vodafone 3G? Poor coverage also tanks your battery life.

I see no reason why you would sign this contract when you can do the exact same thing at JB, be on the Telstra network, and apply the gift card to any phone of your choice.

  • Ok after lot of contemplating I decided to buy Iphone 14 pro max outright with Woolies applie gift card.

i called optus and they offered me lowest plan of 48 at 29 and added a phone for $1 (A13)

so got a network which i am using and satisfied of with a $1 phone can be sold for 200 easy

but somewhere i feel cheated as i was paying optus $69

  • How can I get Coles 10% off voucher for apple? Thanks

  • Hi, can someone please guide me how to get coles gift card and pay for iphone and get a further 10 % discount? I have never used gift card before. kindly guide. Thanks

  • Im on max 20% bundle credit so the $55 plan with 500gb costs me $44 a month. This plan is $69 for 150gb

Just pointing out the trade off for the 1000CR off an (hugly overpriced now) iPhone14x

I have andriods with 5G and as good or better specs that cost me $300-400!

    • Better specs? On par with those Pixel 7/7pro or Samsung Galaxy ?

      • Trading blows but just a better eco system than android. When the laptop picks up where the iPad left off, a call is directed to your watch or iPad you will understand the benefits of an eco system.

Looks like offer has been extended until 28/02/23.

  • Some quick Maffs

Amaysim has deals for as low as like $10 a month:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/750906

For arguments sake I think mine cost $150 for 160gb data for 1 year. Most people dont use anywhere near the data they have available.
So mine cost $12.5 per month
Thats $56.5 less per month than vodaphone
    56.5 x 24 months = $1356 more over 24 months than amaysim
    Diference of + $356

Going into the apple store and buying it outright and using a cheaper sim service would work out cheaper in the long run.
