Receive $3 bonus Cashback from ShopBack when you spend $30 or more in one single transaction on Amazon, JB Hi-Fi, OZSALE or Ticketmaster Gift Cards via the gift card portal in the ShopBack app using an eligible Westpac card

    • Does opt in secure a spot within 48 hours, or have to buy the GC too before it runs out?

      • The latter. Limited redemptions not opt-ins for this one.

  • +9

They have started excluding super swap on Westpac only offerings too now. Guess the party is over

    • -1

When did the party start? Looks like I wasn’t invited

  • +18

I hate this stupid Westpac thing.

    • Agreed.

    • +3

Because you use it or can’t use it?

    • -6

And the flaming hoops are ridiculous for $3.

      *limited to only Westpac cards.
      *Westpac must be registered.
*only certain Westpac cards are eligible
*Limited to paying by card and not balance.
*earn more must be activated first
*limited redemptions are available for the offer. *purchase must be made within 48hr offer period.
*limited to only five particular merchant gift cards, *limited to one bonus per customer,

      • +24

You're being ridiculous if you really think those are unreasonable.

If you have a debit card with Westpac, you can get this. You have to pay $30, you can't get out of it by paying with balance. The rest are also standard stuff.

        • +5

Gee free money what a pain.

        • -4

Only certain Westpac cards are eligible, so it's inaccurate to claim simply using a Westpac debit card will work.

          From the T&C's
"Eligible Westpac debit and credit cards include most Westpac branded consumer debit and credit cards. Westpac business debit cards and Westpac business credit cards are currently not eligible for Westpac bonus Cashback offers."

          • +4

@chyawala: I’ve a Westpac debit card and I’ve been claiming these gift card challenges

          • +2

@chyawala: Have you looked at what's eligible?
I'm using a digital debit card from my choice account with no issues.

            • +2

@B-Man02: It took literally less than 10 minutes to open a Westpac Choice account. Not sure what this guy's beef is.

          • @chyawala: Normal Westpac debit card is fine.
I am using the normal red card to get it too.

Btw, you may complain on the others like ANZ, Commonwealth, NAB are not doing this promotion.
Westpac is doing this with Shopback to share the cost, and we benefit.
I do have anything to complain.

If you're earning $250,000 a year like most OzBargainers, you're wasting you're precious time trying to save a few $3. These sort of offerings are for people on a pensioner level income of $20,000 a year.

        • +8

Those $3 that make me a millionaire!

        • +3

$3 for 10 seconds work is pretty damn good. Extrapolated to an hour it's $1080/hr

        • +2

How do i make $250,000 a year please

          • +1

            @B-Man02: Dude everyone here is…

          • @B-Man02: Start by buying a high yielding C-Class Benz and work your way up from there

        • +1

Sadly i dont even make half of this standard of Ozbargainers…
I am still long way to be a pensioner too :(

          • +1

@CyrusL: In under 1/3 of this. Am I only 1/3 of an Oz bargainer?

    • stupid Westpac thing

I assume you mean your account? Or the app? Actually, Westpac sucks in multiple dimensions

    • +1

Presumably you hate all targeted deals?

    • None of my westpac things have been confirmed yet, but have a few tracked then rejected. You may have not missed much. I would stop participating this until I get my real money.

      • +1

All my Westpac purchases have tracked including todays CW.

        • mine were tracked but then rejected. Have any of yours confirmed?

          • @[Deactivated]: I got an email showing the $10 x 2 cash backs.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: I also got some westpac boinus for ebay transactions tracked and then rejected today. I hope GYB can clarify. I got the impression that the Westpac ebay (and other stores) bonus deals are stackable. There is a 2% westpac ebay bonus deal runs till 31/1 and there were various westpac bonus deals (10% -15%) popped up from time to . The rejections are the 2% westpac bonus ones.

            • @asx100: Did you use your actual Westpac card to pay? I almost paid with PayPal without thinking about it, as that's how I normally pay on eBay.

I haven't tested it, but I imagine using PayPal may not qualify for the offer, even if you use your Westpac card inside PayPal to pay?

              • -1

@Shoocat: I used ebay giftcard + actual westpac credit card to pay.

              • +1

                @Shoocat: From their t&c

Purchases made using online payment methods such as PayPal, where ShopBack is not able to identify whether an eligible card was used at the merchant checkout, will not qualify for Westpac bonus Cashback (even where an eligible card is linked e.g. to the PayPal account).

                • @nokia3660: I recall the Rep has confirmed that, we can use ebay gift card, but mine still got rejected.

                  • @[Deactivated]: Yes, you are correct here as the rep said

Gift cards can be used in tandem with your Westpac card for eBay and Amazon only, provided an eligible Westpac card is used for part of the purchase.

On most of the ShopBack eBay x Westpac deals, this was mentioned

0% Categories/invalid coupon code use will not entitle you to Bonus Cashback.

Your base eBay cashback would need to be tracked in order for the Westpac bonus to kick in, and can’t use any coupon codes. Could this be the reason?

    • I love it

  • +2

    [Westpac]

    Is that a new state?

    • Actually, it’s a new country. “Western Australia” was deemed to be too often conflated with the “Australia” part, and so a rebranding was urgently commissioned. I kind of like it

  • The terms say only Amazon, JB Hi-Fi , Ozsale and Ticketmaster.

  • +2

couple of nice Westpac exclusive bonuses from ShopBack

Here are the rest for this:

    • Best and Less: 15% ($20 cap)
    • Sephora: 15% ($20 cap)

    • Booktopia: 50% ($10 cap)

Chemist warehouse 50% Capped at $10?! That's a nice one, no?

    • +5

That’s really good, just bought $20 hopefully it tracks

      • "Hopefully it tracks" - rightfully put!
50% of non tracking purchase equal to zero!

        • Tracked ! Got $10.20 back, amazing

          • @ozvictor: Are you going to buy more from CWH now that you know it works? I think it’s per transaction not per account (I stand to be corrected).

            • @delfredo: Yea why not. It’s click & collect order so better get a few more in one go !

            • @delfredo: when I am in the app I can't see the t&c for the deal to know if it is $10 max per transaction or per member, and it doesn't show anything on the Shopback website either. (that I can see)

              • @souths123: GYB has said recently that it’s always per transaction unless specifically mentioned that’s it’s per member.

                • @MiscOzB: ok, as I can't read the exact terms it is hard to know….it just shows part of the terms in the app, when you click it just goes to the website and cashback info is only the normal 1% info, no clear terms of the bonus. Just says "capped at $10 when yo.."…as you said, I haven't definitively seen "per member"

                  • +1

@souths123: Would be keen for a rep to confirm this too.

                    • @kuwahshi: same, @gotyourback please confirm whether the $10 is per member or per transaction.

                        • +2

@MiscOzB: Seems promising but tracking doesn't necessarily mean it will be confirmed.

                        • @MiscOzB: Yeah I kinda doubt it will be confirmed - it just seems too good to be true. If it's $10 per line item then I might buy a lot but it just seem too good to be true.

                          • @levqchi: There's also this.

Besides, if it was per member, he'd just be getting the standard 1% tracked after capping out the $10.

Just remember that Westpac are funding all of these deals - they've thrown US$30 million at it. @kuwahshi

                      • +14

@levqchi: @kuwahshi @souths123, yep, the cap is per purchase, not per account. Just make sure you're exiting CW and head back through from ShopBack in between purchases so that each one tracks.

                • @MiscOzB: can you show me where he stated this? I can see one where he said about one particular time where is was per transaction

          • @ozvictor: Cap at $10, you got tracked 20c extra, seems like an error already :)

            • +1

@Noslee: $0.20 is the base 1% cashback, $10 is the bonus 50% cashback
              $0.20 + $10 = $10.20 as he bought $20 worth at CW

          • @ozvictor: How long does the cb show since u made your purchase please? Just placed an order and it does not seem to be tracking. 🥹

            • +1

@GEE-SHOCK: It tracked for me after 2 hours

              • +1

@levqchi: Thanks! About right - mine just got tracked now 😆😆

          • @ozvictor: Do you purchase it via the shopback app or on the website? If it track 1% does it mean it didn't track 50%?

      • +6

Just put through a Chemist Warehouse order and it looks like it tracks each individual line item as a separate order - even though it says bonus capped at $10, it looks to be a $10 cashback cap per line item.

        YMMV

        • How long does the cb show since u made your purchase please? Just placed an order and it does not seem to be tracking. 🥹

          • +1

@GEE-SHOCK: Bought another round at 8:50am Adelaide time, tracking confirmation email came at 11am

            • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks hopefully mine got tracked soon too 🥹🥹 a bit concerned when it’s not instant lol

              • @GEE-SHOCK: Bought 3 items, totalling $38. Was expecting $10 cashbavk but it is tracking $19. ie per item.

    • So you buy a CW GC for $3 bonus and 1% then use that GC to buy from CW for 50% cashback with gift card as payment?

      • You cannot get cashback for CW if using GC.

      • The gift card challenge is for Amazon, JB Hi-Fi, OZSALE or Ticketmaster gift cards only

  • +2

5000 rewards for the GC deal, should be plenty/not run out. It's unlikely another GC deal will pop up and stack but it may be worth being patient for.

It will also stack with this deal if you somehow haven't claimed it yet: [Westpac] $5 Bonus Cashback with $50 Spend on Gift Cards @ ShopBack via App (Activation Required).

  • -1

only 1% for chemist warehouse, when start 50%?

    • Already started and the bonus 50% is only for Westpac customer

  • +1

Can anyone confirm if you can order multiple transactions for chemist warehouse or just one transaction cap at $10

    • +4

Previous chemist warehouse deal confirmed by the rep

it's per purchase/per transaction, not limited by store. You can redeem the cap multiple times per store, across all three store

  • Oof, I always forget how insane the shipping is for Booktopia. Kinda kills the deal.

    Chemist Warehouse is nice though.

  • Sweet got $10 Amazon and $20 Chemist warehouse.

    Bought $20 of baby food.

    No cheap dishwashing tablets. Bummer.

    • Chemist Warehouse gift cards are not eligible for the $30 gift card offer and use will also void cashback.

    • +2

Just fyi - if you have used that $20 chemist warehouse gift card to buy the $20 of baby food, your cashback may not track as GYB previously said

Chemist Warehouse does not accept gift card as a partial payment when redeeming Cashback.

  • +5

Hmm those buying Chemist Warehouse GC for the 50% cashback, aren't you supposed to be spending on Chemist Warehouse directly with your Westpac card to be eligible for the 50% cashback?

    • +1

yep, they will find out they get no cb for their CW purchase

  • CW website isn't working now. Just great!

  • Thanks op

  • +6

I can confirm the cap is capped at per transaction. Placed 3 orders when this deal went live and all 3 bonuses were tracked at $5.90, $10, $10
Now I’ve to wait for the order pickup ready from CW

    • +1

      Thanks for letting us know!

    • +3

Just for ppl doubting it, here’s a screenshot :)

      • +2

now just have to see if they will actually pay it lol….will wait to hear from rep if possible to confirm before I pull the trigger again, but apparently unless it says "per member" it is per separate sale/transaction as long as you go back through Shopback again

    • -4

"Bonus is limited to one per ShopBack account. Additional transactions do not qualify for additional bonuses."

      • Not according to the rep. Didn’t try myself though.

      • That would be referring to the gift card bonus.

This is probably the best value item to buy at Chemist Warehouse with 50% off, brings it down to $9 for 36 rolls of Quilton toilet paper: https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/93721/quilton-toilet…
