    Congrats on your first post!

  • Any feedback from who purchased it from the previous deal.

  • To be honest, I haven't set it up yet.

I did, but I need to clean up the stock software and transfer stuff over.

I'm coming from a 10+ year old Ultrabook, so it's smaller and I probably can't give a good review.

It's very nice looking, and after gift cards I got it for $750ish.

  • Great specs with 1240P and being 1440p but build quality is garbage on this model of HP laptops. I'd be disappointed paying almost $900 for this compared to $1100 or so for a different deal for a slightly better laptop with much better build quality.

But as I said pretty great specs for sub $900.

    • Build quality seems fine to me, I'm not sure what to compare it too.

My Samsung Ultrabook was 2k new over 10 years ago, and never gave me an issue.

    • any laptop goes with soldered ram means they are cutting cost!

Yeah, literally most laptops designed like this tho.

I found it hard to find thin laptops under 1k without it.

    • Thanks, I would want to get a better build quality, could you recommend one for $1100 or so

      • Sorry mate, I wouldn't be comfortable providing recommendations without thorough research… I'd recommend you find your needs and do some googling then YouTube some reviews of your picks.

In regards to OP's post though, for instance, I got this for work and I ended up opening the chassis and stuffing in plastic as every time I pressed a key it made a rattling noise. It also flexes a lot.

Good research will prove very useful- it always does for me! Good luck

What is the conversion rate between dollarydoos and the Australian dollar?

    • +3

      1:1

      • Oh dear. So it seems likely to follow the Aussie dollar into dollarydoodoo. Better spend it quickly, then, I suppose

  • Great laptop. Bought it for 750 with giftcards in christmas. The display is perfect (for its price atleast) the performance is fantastic, build quality is good but there is a decent amount of flex nothing too concerning. It is light and good for students but the design isnt the best looking

  • Any decent laptop with a dedicated video card?

  • If you need a decent BYOD for school this Monday then this is a pretty good option, unless you really need touch screen.

  • Bought this one from officeworks on the last deal to replace an xps 13 and it has been pretty, pretty, pretty good. Screen and keyboard are good, usb charging, good, no other issues.

  • Yeah, with these specs for the price it's been available I'm not sure what people expect.

Nothing is perfect, but for what I personally paid it was the laptop deal of the year.

  • Is this the exact model that OfficeWorks has? (For price beat)
I don’t know the model number.

I received mine today! And even though the eBay advert says it has a 720p webcam, the one I received has the 5 Megapixel webcam. It also has an intel SSD, and Realtek wifi.

  • Curiously, accoridng to the HP website, the warranty for mine was set to expire in September. Are these business bulk order laptops being on sold at retail? Of course it doesn't matter becuase the warranty is statutory, based on the purchase date, not whatever HP says it is.

I used the Whatsapp chat with HP and they updated it to reflect 1 year after the purchase date. Of course they also tried to sell me an extended warranty.

  • I have this laptop, bought it for black friday. Anyone having problems with the battery life? Its not lasting that long.

Even off it burns through 5% every few hours

    • CPU is pretty power hungry from what I have read, and I think it's listed as 9 hour life? 5% every few hours, sounds like it's not using much power at all.

  • Mine was using a lot of power on battery because Windows File Indexer was still running, but that has since gone.

    • What is that? Can you delete it?
