  • thanks grabbed one

  • got one, thanks OP

  • +3

This is good but mine died rather quickly. Good I got it from Amazon for a full refund. But for this price, its a bargain

    • Other reviews seem to say that it dies quite easily. Was almost tempted to re-sign up to eBay Plus to buy this but held off after reading the fairly high rate of failure and a lack of a remote(so I can integrate into my smart home controls).

      • +1

Als the cleaning of this is a bit of a pain. There is a guide on their website to follow but clearly it is not design with ease of opening in mind.

    • +1

I have to eBay product ratings are almost always complete rubbish.

  • +1

Just saw it on eBay page but I already have 3 x Viomi and 1 x Xiaomi.

    • +1

      Thoughts on them? Interested 👍

      • +6

The build quality and looks, Xiaomi is better. Both DC motor and quiet, looks small and light but quite enough for me, never need it on the max.

Xiaomi cost over $100 but The Viomi only cost me $50, also Xiaomi have battery.

  • Thanks

  • Cheers, bought one!

  • Awesome find thanks OP just got one.

  • +7

    I'm a fan of this

  • +5

Is there something different about an 'air circulator' in comparison to a regular fan from your experience?

      • +1

Sounds interesting, keen to try it but unfortunately its sold out now haha

        • Au contraire, this sounds like bollocks. It's a fan, that blows air. There's not two types of blowing air. All these benefits have been attributed to ceiling fans before, nothing new here except marketing speak.

Not saying it's a bad deal, just that it's a fan. It's probably this cheap because people are drinking that kool aid

    • +5

An ordinary fan can only oscillate horizontally, an air circulator uses patent pending magic technology to oscillate vertically instead - literally lifting the air above your head! Normally the domain of ceiling fans, now you can get air moving vertically in a small, portal format.

(The term Air Circulator is a name only, no responsibility is held if the air does not circulate, or that which gets circulated is not air. Please ensure the product is used inside a gravity well, otherwise it may fly off).

  • Oos?

  • Oos already damn.

  • OOS

  • Thanks OP! Grabbed one.

  • OOS

  • Thanks to OZb, I have a fan in every corner now

    • Some might say you have… Only fans

  • -5

    LOL - SOLD OUT

only had about 20 in stock ….

  • That was quick

    • that's what she said

  • Excellent! Exactly what I need for my kitchen.

  • +1

Hopefully they will restock. It happens sometimes with eBay plus promo

    out of stock
    just saved me $29

  • +1

    absolutely devo

  • hope this goes well for my zwift setup, didn't want to pay vornado prices

    • I was eyeing the Vornado when I was at DJ but the price nearly fanned me out. Reviews for Dimplex aren’t great either

      • Exactly. This Dimplex is cheap for a reason

  • Oh my god I was about to grab one and got sidetracked. Nooooooooooooooo!

    • +2

this….this will haunt you..always, you will lick your wounds for a week, maybe even come back to this thread to see the people that finally receive theirs and that small void deep inside will grow ever that much bigger…you'll start to resent the reason you got distracted, maybe even slap yourself a few times, then maybe, just maybe…another deal will come by and you'll actually get it and feel normal again.

  • this or vornado?

    • +3

      Vornado mate. Have both.

  • +1

So how is this different then normal fans, is it for like a air-conditioner or something

    • Unlike a normal fan facing you directly.

Vornado Air Circulators use the unique Vortex Action to distribute air through the whole room. Air flows fast, cool & constant to create a cooling experience unlike any other. Source https://vornado.com.au/

      • I have a cheap Air Circulator from Bunnings and it's extremely noisy. How noisy/quiet is the Vornado?

        • Tbh when I got the vornado, I thought it was pretty noisy (esp. At higher speeds). I guess now I've just become used to it. Its like my noise machine 😂

      • +2

Couldn't you just aim a normal fan in the same direction as you would with a vornado and get the same effect?

    • +1

I was using one of our DC Vornado just yesterday to circulate the AC through the house better. It is a little thing and can send the air in a horizontal column thirty feet easily at half speed.

At the price of this thing might as well try it. If you like it upgrade to a Vornado when it dies.

  • +2

I don't need it, but for the price I would of bought 🤣

    • *would have

  • Damn all summer had waited for a deal on this exact item, annoyingly missing out fantastic price to lucky buyers.

    • +4

I'm sure half the purchases were made by people who didn't need or want one… But it's cheap, so better buy one and chuck it on the pile…

      • +2

How did you read my mind?

        • Await see these being resold @ higher price !

  • do u use this instead of air-conditioning or in combination with?

    • Fans don’t cool so you wouldn’t use it instead of AC. You can use it in combination with AC if you want to circulate the cold air from AC around a room or into other rooms

      • -1

Fans do cool.. if the air coming from outside is colder than in the room..

        • +2

Yeah if we’re talking about when it’s cool outside these are good for evenings when the temperature drops after a hot day. I put the fan on a window sill and point it up at the ceiling where all the hot air is trapped or use it to aid cross drafts from the front door down a corridor

      • Fans do cool in way using the same air around you. When sweat on your skin dries up by fan forced air, it draws heat from your skin to evaporate your perspiration and there cools it.

        • Dunno what muppet downvoted you, you're right:
          https://www.cbc.ca/radio/quirks/nov-21-microbial-mining-in-s…

There is a caveat though, above a certain temperature, fans don't really do very much to cool you down. For me it's around 32 degrees Celsius or so (indoors). That's when reverse cycle air conditioning becomes essential.

[edit] According to this article, the magic temperature limit for fans varies between 35 degrees and 42 degrees Celsius, depending on the humidity and who you ask:
          https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-12-20/are-fans-completely-u…
(they also point out that fans are less effective in hot + dry conditions)

Below that temperature, fans are fantastic. They use only a small amount of electricity compared to aircon, so they're extremely cost effective to run, especially if they use a DC motor.

        • +1

Guns Fans don’t cool people, people do

  • Too late, would have bought one.

If eBay purchase history is up to date, they sold 99 units in 11 minutes 40 seconds. Reasonable quantity and time window to grab one for a deal like this. As oppose to very limited quantity that sold out in a couple of minutes.

  • +1

Can not find anywhere that this uses a dc motor, as others have mentioned, when i was researching on this last month. Only the model number has dc on it which could really just be Dimplex something.

    • +1

Yeah you're right, according to this spec sheet it uses 45W of power, so there's zero chance it's a DC motor:
      https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/dimplex-dcace20-…

Usually DC motor fans cost 2-3x the price of this, at a minimum.

      • +1

Yeah, cheapest advertised dc motor i found was the kogan one. But the reviews weren't great.

  • +1

I'm so sad right now. I've been looking at this and have been waiting ages for it to pop up for $39 but $29 is amazing!

It's the way it shatters that matters lol

  • +5

I have this. A very loud fan and the stupid design makes it so hard to clean it!

  • What's with the title? Are you trying to enter it in google search index?

  • -1

Add bit more rotation to fan head and call it an 'air circulator'. Great marketing.

  • Got cancellation and redund email already.

    • +1

Did they tell you what was the reason they cancelled your order?

    • +1

My order has been shipped with tracking provided via Aus Post

    • Mine was shipped too

    • +3

Out of stock, sorry over sold.

      • +2

        Back in stock

        • Code doesn’t work !

          • +2

@iGrouch: Worked for me….try a few times and it eventually works

            • @gat78: Legend thanks fingers crossed is not cancelling like other people commenting…

  • What is an "Air Circulator"? And how does it differ from a "fan"?

    • +3

An "air circulator" circulates the air whereas a "fan" just fans the air (ie in a non-circulatory way).

  • The "cooling" feature is efficient in a hot day or just circulating warm air? Thanks

  • +3

back in stock it seems!! quick guys~

    • Damn miss again

      • Somehow they release 30.. just keep watching and refreshing their page.
