  • Nice price for a 3070ti equivalent gpu.

    • Damn my 2080 Super starting to feel old.

I upgraded to an RTX 3090 from a RTX 2070 Super, it was $1100 from the ex-mining ones that come with warranty via manufacturer and sold by MetroCom. They at least make sure the card is working properly before re-selling it. Made sure to wait for the ones that have 1 year warranty minimum, instead of the 3 months ones, and one night I was checking before going to sleep and they dropped 2 rtx 3090's for $1200 each, with an eBay Plus code it went down to $1100.

Here is the link I had setup to check from latest released, so I just scrolled down every night and checked at the top if there was anything new at an interesting price:

        https://www.ebay.com.au/str/junltech?_sop=10

The one I got was the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Vision OC 24GB. Paid $10 extra for express delivery to Perth and it came 3 days later.

What does it have to do with this deal?

          • -2

@kml22: Was literally replying to a person who has a similar videocard to what I had, which was feeling outdated. In a comment within a comment, within a thread.

What is it to you? Holy shit some people. Just wow

        • Should have just paid for $1300 new for a 4070ti..

          • @solidussnake: Yes, definitely considered it. But I think the RTX 3090 will have a better resale value with its 24Gb of vRAM, and despite the 4070 Ti being mostly better at 1080p and 1440p, I game at 4K and they're a lot closer at 4K. I will definitely miss out on DLSS 3 features though.

      • +1

It's not all that much faster than your 2080s, maybe around 25-30% which is never worth it for gpu upgrades.

  • Is this eligible for the 2 free games promotion? cant see any mention of it.

  • +5

Umart has the same model for 649, comes to 599 for Amex deal

  • I’m looking for a 1440p card that can play flight sim well, should I get this or an Nvidia card to take advantage of DLSS?

Currently sitting on a RTX 980ti

    • -1

      Gtx

    • +2

Microsoft flight sim is very heavy on the CPU side. Most of the cards beyond 3060ti or 3070 on 1440 should give you a 60fps + experience. So theoretically, this one is fine.

      • That’s very helpful cheers!

  • how much of a percentage upgrade from Vega 64?

  • +3

Probably the first tempting upgrade ive seen in the 7 years since i got my GTX 1080. Not tempting enough but we are finally getting close.

  • +8

good price but cant upvote due to centre con.

Unless their rep publically apologises for their past behaviours its hard for me to shop there with no guarantee on if my order will be cancelled or not. Maybe this one wont but thats not saying the next one wont neither and given centre cons shoddy history they are more likely to cancel than not.

Hope everyone who jumped in this deal get their card in the end. If you dont, well just remember to not shop here again.

paid exactly this amount for 6600XT when it first came out RIP

    • You still probably got less shafted than most buying new gpus two years ago lol

    • Paid only $10 less than this for 6600 non-XT when that came out.
Awful timing for a gpu to die

    • IIRC people were paying around ~$900 for 6600XTs for quite a while there, and they bottomed out at $350 briefly, so you likely beat the average.

  • Wow this got personal pretty quickly.

I stopped buying from centre con since they cancelled their free delivery

  • Would a 6750XT be a worthwhile upgrade from a 1080Ti?

I want to upgrade my monitor to a 4K120 or better as well, and the lack of DSC over DP on the 1080Ti limits my choices there…the lack of HDMI 2.1 also means I can't just get an LG C2 and call it a day

    • +1

Here's three different benchmarks of 6700XT vs 1080ti: 1, 2, 3, which should give you some idea of where their relative performance sits, the 6750XT is an ever so slightly tiny upgrade over the 6700XT so frame gains here are minimal.

      • Thanks! Looks like a decent enough upgrade

    • @twister292 Get a DP to HDM2.1 adaptor even until you get a new card (if you get the C2).

I have an LG C2 with a 1080, couldn't get above 60Hz. Using an adaptor and windows runs at 120Hz now with the DP-> HDM2.1 adaptor.

      Much better.

      • Still won't support VRR though :(

        • Oh didn't even know that was a thing!

Time for an upgrade too. ;)

Although…no idea what to get as well.

It's fine for the current market, but it still loses out to it's weaker siblings. With the 6700 being $439 at it's ATL, $549 would be more appropriate for this.

18 hours and no "HODL" post? Shame on you OzB community

    • +1

The HODL mantra is getting a bit ODL now. It hasn't worked going from the 10 to the 20 series except for the few days people off-loaded 20 series for cheap. It didn't work going from 20 to 30 series either, with the 3080 being essentially a $2k+ card for its entire life bar the first few minutes. It's still $1k+ and nVidia claim it's the "best option for mainstream gamers", so it's not going on a fire sale any time soon either. The few dozen 6800/6900XTs going for sub-1K weren't in a big enough quantity to make it worthwhile, and the 7900 series doesn't really sway the argument in either performance or value.

My 1080Ti is getting on 6 years old now, and I need to upgrade at least to get HDMI 2.1 and DSC over DP to be able to use newer high-refresh monitors. The 1080Ti is holding me back from getting a 42" LG C2 because it will be locked to 60Hz with no VRR on it.

      • $350 6600xt, $390 XFX 6600xt, $800 6800xt/$909 6900xt have all been available over the last 6 months.

That said $1300 4070ti is the ultimate reward for the 3080 hodler. Faster than 3090ti for 1/3 the price. They now have a 4070ti for cheaper than the 3080 cost only a few months ago.

        • They've only been available for a few units at best though, it's not a sustained price drop. Cheapest new 6900XT is $1179 right now. Sub-$1200 4070Ti will make a lot of sense, sub-$1300 isn't all that bad either, but $1400+ is a hard sell for a x070 card

  • Cheers for the post.

    HODL no more!

Finally upgraded the faithful 1070 purchased in 2016 from the below deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/259147

Will still be using the 8700k @5ghz for a little longer.

    Went with Umart express shipping.

Worked out $25 extra than this deal with express shipping to WA and 2 titles to check out.

    • +2

I'm considering the same…UMart is $649 + $14 delivery to VIC, with Amex offer it becomes $613 including the 2 titles…

  • Deal expired?

Reading a lot about severe coil whine with this card. Possibly a reason why they're not selling all that well?

  • Deal is back on.

  • This or 6700xt for $570-ish in the other deal from Amazon?

  • +1

Already had my card delivered yesterday and installing tonight.

    This thing is huge!!!!

Thankfully my case should have no issues accommodating the size.
