    these are too thick

    • +20

Not if you have a big butt…😆

    • +10

To each their own. I personally find myself needing to use less of the 4 ply compared to the 3 ply so the supply last us longer.

      • +5

        No folding required ay

    • -2

Agreed. Been wiping my arse for 30+ years with https://www.igashop.com.au/product/delsey-toilet-tissue-1000… and you cannot get better value toilet paper.

For a 2 person household a roll lasts about 2 months, while regular 2 or 3 ply rolls are lucky to last a week.

Have never poked a finger through a sheet while wiping, and never suffered any rectal injuries due to it not being as soft as other brands. It does what it needs to do and does it well, all while reducing waste and saving money at the same time.

      • jeezsusss, most well use single ply

      • +4

        1 ply… insert peasant gif here :D

all things aside i've used these and yea they strong but if you've ever had a bout of the runs i fear for your hole after a few uses of this in one day

      • +2

It's this level of frugality that makes me realise I am but a squire…a learner..a noob.
I can only sit back and admire the true masters while learning as much as I can from their skills.

      • Rectal injuries? Do you were internally?

      • +7

"Been wiping my arse for 30+ years"

Maybe if you used a different paper it would take less time?

    • Make each roll a pair of 2 ply rolls?

  • +3

    Price drop?Camel does not agree…

    • +1

Well I initially contemplated about sharing this deal but thought it might be of help to give a heads up to those of us who finds this price reasonable and about to run out of their supply - even if the price is not historical low.

      • +3

        Mate, it is historical high…

        • How does camel not agree?

It's been $29 since early October by looking at the chart.

$23 is cheaper than $29 last time I checked and therefore not an historical high.

I guess if you had a time machine you could go back to 2019 when it was only $12.50 and buy a container load if it, but I generally don't buy that much toilet paper all at once.

          • @MonkDog: Now I guess what the point is. There are 2 version of Camel. One is on this page. However, if you try to load Camel chrome plug-in on the the amazon page, you will see a different result.

Quilton King Size Gold 4 Ply Toilet Tissue at Coles is better value at $0.63 per 100Ea vs Amazon $0.69 (S&S).

    • +15

The Amazon unit pricing is $0.49 (they're 140 sheet rolls)

      30 Rolls x 140 Sheets = 4200 sheets

      2070c/4200 Sheets = 0.49c/sheet

The Coles sheets proclaim to be 25% larger. Assuming that this means 25% larger than the Amazon 4-Ply, then the unit pricing comes out as:

      20 Rolls x 120 Sheets = 2400 Sheets

      2000 sheets x 1.25 = 3000 sheets

      1500c/3000 Sheets = 0.5c/sheet

But that all hinges on what the 25% larger claim means. In any case, the Amazon rolls are still cheaper… just.

      • +6

Coles sheets are 25% bigger (138cm/sq) over Amazon's (110cm/sq). So it's not more sheets but the size of each individual sheet. Which isn't that valuable.

        • +5

Yeah, realistically you're probably going to waste that extra 25% on the Coles version when you still tear off the same amount of squares. It's a false saving IMHO.

          • @dontpanic: To be clear, Coles sheets are only 2400 in total (@0.63c/sheet) - I used the 3000/sheet calculation to give an indicative cm/sq price comparison.

          • @dontpanic: Yep, so 0.49c/sheet (Amazon) vs 0.625c/sheet (Coles). With the 'benefit' of Coles having 25% more per sheet in terms of square cm.

            • +2

@iykyk: For reference, standard Quilton 3 Ply at Coles is 0.325c/sheet. 51% jump in price for an extra ply

          • @dontpanic: You count how many squares you use?

          • +1

            @dontpanic: Someone call an accountant.

        • +4

          Holy shit. What a discussion!

    • +5

Came here for the arithmetic lessons and was not disappointed.

  • +2

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, the unit price of this is $0.547/100sheets?
Then it's really not that cheap then?

    • 140 sheets per roll

    • +1

Correct. Or S&S for $0.493/100 sheets. Or Costco for $0.42/100 sheets for the 5x12 rolls.

  • +1

Waiting for it to go cheaper so i can stock up

  • +5

Couldn’t stop my self with calculating how much my ass cost me each time I go to dump.!

    https://www.costco.com.au/Grocery-Household/Toilet-Paper-Tis…

    0.42cents

    • +2

Costs nothing if u dug out outside on the lawn and nourish your weeds

    • +3

      That's 0.104 per ply.

Still cheaper than this Amazon deal at 0.123 per ply (even with S&S)

But Costco instore have the 48 pack 3 ply 180 sheets for $21.49 which equates to 0.083 per ply

      • +1

        These are the cheapest right?
        edit: referring to the costco48

        • Yeah but last June Amazon had the 48 3 ply for $19.80 ($22 less 10% discount for S&S).

But yeah that's over 6 months ago.

  • +6

    Double roll or nothing.

Living with females it's frustrating having to put a new roll on every time I take a dump.

    • +16

I didn't want to say anything, but I've got a magic toilet roll holder. Everytime I leave it empty, within a few hours, I'll go back and there'll be a brand new toilet roll. Never leaving this place that's for sure

      • +1

Is this like the magic coffee table?

        • +1

          OMG, you have one too?!?!

  • +11

damn inflation: "You last purchased this item on 21 Aug, 2019 $12.50"

    • +1

Yeah i miss those days :'(

      • +4

Good thing I'm still working my way through the industrial quantity I ordered back then….

  • +7

when you have kids, 3ply or 4ply, they still use too many sheets, so just getting 3 ply works out better.

    • My kids are ok… it's the wife.

I wouldn't mind going 3-ply if it was soft enough, she'll still use ungodly length.

  • +1

Too expensive. I found it’s not even worth to put up the 3 ply and he even puts up the 4 ply!!!

  • -1

Plys dont really matter … it comes down to quality and type of paper used.

    • Politely, my arse and fingers disagree.

      • 2nd best selling toilet paper in the market is 1 ply and nobody seems to complain …

        • I would genuinely buy any 1-ply that doesn't cause my fingers to smooch my arse. Have tried it at work before and it wasn't pretty.

Horses for courses I guess. Maybe it's my diet and excessive fur coating but personally I need that additional protection that extra ply offers.

  • +2

İf u choose save and subscribe, then u get %10 extra. But you won't forget to cancel after that…if u don't need anymore

  • Thanks.

  • +1

What's the cheapest 4ply version of any brand, does coles and woolies have a brand?
I find 4 ply is the only one i dont need to fold so either get 4 ply or 2 ply

  • How much is Aldi Confidence? I've bought it before but not recently.

    • +1

From memory the Aldi 4ply were 3.99 for pack of 8, but haven’t seen these for months now, so not sure if they’re available any more 😕

  • These are great for people who wet the toilet before wiping their (profanity). 4 ply comes into its own.

  • What is a comparable brand, quality and price wise, to quilton? I heard aldi's is alright

  • +3

A true ozbargainer waxes to avoid hair damaging toilet paper for optimum yield

    • I'd imagine the waxing cost would outweigh the toilet paper savings.

      • Can pluck for free.

  • +1

It will prevent us from getting in touch with our inner selves.

  • +3

Wow, inflation has been accepted. 100 upvotes on this. Last I bought according to my Amazon purchase history was $12.37 (S&S price) in 2020.

    • Either accept it or hop into your time machine back to 2020

      • Many other alternatives. I chose to go with the Quilton 3-ply instead. Only marginally more expensive now than it was in 2020.

  • +1

My previous Amazon order for this says I paid $12.50

  • -8

Sorry OP. I feel like this is the opposite of a deal. It's a rort. The price has had a massive increase. And the cost per roll is way too high imo.

    • What is a better deal currently?
      3 or 4 ply

    • Fair thoughts, and i mentioned in an earlier comment along the lines of this post only appealing to some who prefers these rolls/about to run out of supply/ and would find this price drop reasonable.

  • +1

Thanks OP. We usually put these out when visitors come. Otherwise ALDI rolls for regular use.

    • lol imagine pulling out the 'good' toilet paper when guests visit. lol

  • Thanks OP, ordered

  • Thanks OP

  • +5

$35 for 60 rolls delivered if you have costco membership

    Quilton 3 Ply 48 SS 22.73 0.47 count

    https://amzn.asia/d/cMvZIk1

    • +4

Mate that’s 25% less ply. You work hard and deserve better.

  • Thanks, grabbed some and some of the other deal, with the amex/amazon offer worked out great.

  • Can not justify the cost of TP in general, let alone this luxury roll. Mil' spec GP roll and a hose can do us just fine.

We just had 3 Couchsurfing girls in for 4 nights/5 days….. they destroyed 7 Quilton 'nice' quality rolls between them!
Plus they also had the Asian style Hose, soap and wet wipes as well……

Use a bidet and then just a couple of squares to dry.

    • Can buy from Bunnings nowadays as well.

And I agree with you 100%.

  • +1

I come here for the comments. It does not disappoint!

  • Second highest price in Camelcacmelcamel history! NO DEAL!
