I encountered some issue when using HDMI 2.1 cable > 3m (intermittent disconnection mainly, screen black out then restore, something like that), especially when used with the cable is coiled, going through adapters (like hubs and audio extractor) and AV receivers when you're really taking advantage of HDMI 2.1 (4K120 or 8K60 w/ HDR and eARC). If you see similar problem, better try a shorter cable.

Yeah - only use a 3m cable if you absolutely have to.

I sometimes have the same issues with just HDMI 2.0b on a 3m cable. Long cables with high be finicky at times - even if you have high speed ones.

48gbps? Max I can get on nbn is 75mbps this won't allow me to stream my Plex on my PS4 without lag.

48gbps is for direct data not streaming content.

  • I know its easy to run ones mouth, especially over the internet, but why are no companies making thicker more stable cables for home use? Its not gonna be portable but its gonna be , install, forget, and never think about it again?

Edit: or even an adapter that could be like 5-10cm and be male hdmi to an industrial data cable…

    • more stable cables for home use?

That's called a certified cable - exactly like the ones in this deal 👍 If you really need to meet a specific HDMI bandwidth, then you'll need to buy a certified cable at that speed.

  • Not great reviews for this on amazon. One of those technical review states that its not hdmi 2.1 cable:

I will be returning this one. Definitely not the advertised 48 gbps HDMI 2.1 standard. Sure, I can get 120fps with 4K with 10 bit colour 4:4:4, but it be becomes a stutterfest at certain high frame rates & scenes, regardless of g-sync or v-sync settings. Also artefacting galore. Altered the chroma down to 8 bit colour, 4:2:0, HDR off, and those same frame rates become butter smooth, and I get no issues at all(4K of course). This would mathematically utilize 16gbps. I get the same results if I do this with an HDMI 2.0b cable (18gbps). This implies that it is actually an HDMI 2.0b cable. Not certified so I can’t say I’m not surprised. Might be okay if you just want some colour coded HDMI 2.0b cables, but I do not recommend to anybody looking for HDMI 2.1. Tested on an LG CX and an RTX 3080

  • Bought these and returned them. Beware if wall mounting tv as these are SUPER thick and not really friendly to bend in tight circumstances. Ended up going fibre hdmi which are extremely thin and robust
