Welcome to the ultimate guide of Netflix subscriptions

Similar to my last post, I'm resharing this guide after previous deal post expired due to a price increase by Netflix. This is the third price hike for Turkey in the last 10 months.

  • Turkey is no longer the cheapest country for a Netflix subscription on all tiers, after they increased prices multiple times (Example: Premium plan from TL₺54.99 to TL₺77.99 to TL₺93.99 to TL₺130.99 in a span of just over a year).
    • However, obtaining a Turkey-based Netflix Gift Card is extremnely easy and effortless, making it the easiest-cheapest country to sign up with
  • Pakistan is the cheapest country for all Netflix plans, however, obtaining a Pakistan-based Netflix Gift Card to sign up will be quite difficult I believe
  • Netflix Argentina is now ARS699 (A$5.30) for the Basic Plan and ARS1,899 (A$14.40) for the Premium Plan

Please note: Signing up via Part 3 may be the easier method as most OzBargainers previous had lots of issues with Part 2, due to Netflix Turkey requesting a Turkish mobile number

There are plenty of previous threads on users commenting their experience. Please read it if you are stuck. See here and here and here and here

Instructions

Please read the following instructions carefully.

Part 1 - Ensure you have your Australian mobile number and debit/credit card saved in your account

Complete either steps (a) or (b), depending on your current situation

a. If you currently have an Australian Netflix subscription:

  1. Make sure your Australian mobile number is saved and verified in your account. See this screenshot

  2. Make sure your current or new debit/credit card is saved and verified in your account. If your payment method is PayPal, remove this immediately and replace it will a debit/credit card.

  3. Once you’ve triple checked your mobile is added and verified, simply cancel your subscription and wait until the end of the renewal period (i.e. keep watching until the sub expires. Don’t let your sub go to waste since you’ve already paid for it). Once your subscription has expired, go to Part 2 or Part 3

b. If you DO NOT have a current Australian subscription:

  1. Sign up and subscribe to any Australian Netflix plan (preferably the lowest cost basic plan - don’t worry, you’ll get your money back). Do not use PayPal to sign up, it must be a debit/credit card.

  2. Once you’ve signed up, make sure your Australian mobile number is saved and verified in your account. See this screenshot

  3. Make sure your current or new debit/credit card is saved and verified in your account.

  4. Once you’ve triple checked your mobile is added and verified, go to Netflix Live Chat and tell them you “would like a full refund since you’ve changed your mind” - they usually don’t ask why but if they do make up some random excuse like “my sibling just signed up” or “you don’t want it anymore” etc. This should be a very fast step and take you only several minutes. The account cancellation will be effective immediately and the refund will arrive in a few hours or days

  5. Once your subscription has expired (should be immediate as you’ve cancelled it for a refund through live chat), go to Part 2 or Part 3

Part 2 - Signing up via Netflix Turkey (Direct Method - No Gift Cards - MOST LIKELY TO FAIL)

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before starting Part 2. It has completely ended when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership

  1. With VPN off, log into your Netflix account

  2. Activate a VPN service, turn it on and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/
    ExpressVPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs where possible

Possible Problem: You use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, but it defaults to one of the cities of Turkey that is not Istanbul.
Possible Solution: You want it to land in Istanbul, Turkey, so keep turning off and on the VPN until it lands in Istanbul. Confirm it’s Istanbul by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/

  3. Open Netflix and proceed to Netflix to choose your plan:

    https://www.netflix.com/

  4. Proceed by adding your Australian credit/debit card as the backup payment method

Possibly working cards from: 28 Degrees, ANZ Rewards, Citibank Debit, Macquarie

Possible Problem: If it asks for a Turkish mobile number, you will have to find a working one so they can send you verification. AFAIK, there is no way bypassing this and you will need to sign up via Part 3

Part 3 - Signing up via Netflix Turkey (Using Gift Cards if Part 2 Fails) - EASIEST METHOD

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before starting Part 3. It has completely ended when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership

  1. Purchase a Turkey Netflix Gift Card. If you are signing up to Netflix Premium, buy the 100 TL gift card. If signing up to Netflix Basic/Standard, buy the 75 TL gift card (just an idea, doesn’t matter what GC you get)

Note: Choose a reputable seller and make an account so you have a record of the purchases if anything goes wrong. I recommend Turgame (I've bought Turkey Apple GC's from there and they have fast delivery, they charge the same price as the gift card value and the payment gateway fee is very low) or g2a

  2. Once you’ve received your gift card, it’s time to redeem your gift card and sign up to Netflix Turkey at the same time. Make sure from Part 1 that you have not logged out. You must stay logged in to your Australian account. If you’ve logged out, please log back in now with VPN turned off (Logging into your Aus account with a VPN gives an error)

  3. Activate a VPN service, turn it on and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/
    ExpressVPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs where possible

Possible Problem 1: If you use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, sometimes it defaults to one of the cities of Turkey that is not Istanbul. You want it to land in Istanbul, Turkey, so keep turning off and on the VPN until it lands in Istanbul. Confirm it’s Istanbul by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/

  4. With VPN on, open a new tab and go to the following Netflix site to redeem your gift card and follow the prompts to subscribe to Netflix Turkey:

    https://www.netflix.com/tr-en/redeem

Possible Problem: On the plan selection page, the currency is not in Turkish Lira
Possible Solution: The problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed

  5. Proceed by choosing your current saved Australian credit/debit card (shown on screen) as the backup payment method (if it doesn't let you choose then it's highly possible it's already saved in the account - in this case, press "skip this step" at the bottom), OR add a new card in (this may prompt you for a Turkey number verification however, hence Part 1 - see fix below)

Possible Problem: After entering your debit/credit card details, it asks for a Turkish mobile number
Possible Solution: Two causes for this. Cause (1): the problem is due to your VPN - Double check or change your VPN if needed, then go back to step 4. Cause (2): This is because you've entered a new debit/credit card. In this case, please click back on your browser and avoid entering a new card by pressing "skip this step" at the bottom. If this option does not appear, please restart Part 1 and ensure you save the card you wish to use as a backup payment.

Possible Problem: My debit/credit cards keep declining, and I'm unable to subscribe
Possible Solution: It's likely the problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed and restart the whole process. However, if VPN is not the problem, you can continue to subscribe without a backup payment method (i.e. start your subscription with just the Gift Card you bought), and then afterwards you can contact live chat and tell them you need to update your payment method by asking them to send a payment form popup (this will allow you to add a credit/debit card and save it into the account). If the agent refuses or has no idea what you’re trying to say, end the chat and start a new one.

Note: You’ve just used your gift card to pay for the first month, as well as partially for the second month. For the second month, Netflix will deduct the remaining of the gift card, and the remaining balance will come out of the credit/debit card you’ve inputted, and from thereon each month Netflix will keep charging your bank at those rates (be aware many banks like Commonwealth Bank have a small international transaction fee but this is only a few cents extra. Suncorp and Latitude Platinum have no international fees). Besides this, you should be saving >$100 AUD each year at least ($200 saving annually for the premium plan)

  6. You’re done! Turn off your VPN and enjoy your subscription :)

FAQ

Q: Will I need to turn VPN on everytime I watch Netflix?
A: No! You no longer need to have VPN on every time you watch a show or movie. VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Netflix without a VPN and you will have access to the Australian Netflix library.

Q: I want to watch a show/move from another region or country. Can I do this?
A: If you want to watch a show or movie that is region locked to another country, you can do so by setting your VPN on your phone, laptop or PC to that country to watch it. Yes, you will need a VPN for this

Q: I got charged a different rate compared to the prices on this post. What happened?
A: Due to foreign exchange rates constantly fluctuating, prices will differ by several cents each month

Q: I have an existing Netflix subscription, can I use the same email?
A: Definitely! See Part A

Q: My bank blocked my payment, what do I do?
A: Some banks block 1st attempt and then text to confirm it's you. Once you reply, 2nd attempt may work. If after several attempts it does not work, just go through the Gift Card method and avoid the pain

Q: How do I update to a new debit/credit card?
A: You can contact live chat and ask them to send a payment form popup (this will allow you to add a credit/debit card and save it into the account). If the agent refuses or has no idea what you’re trying to say, end the chat and start a new one.

Q: Is signing up to Netflix Turkey going to affect my Netflix library/catalogue?
A: After setting up this sub, you may or may not notice the Netflix catalogue may be weird with brand new shows, etc… It might not even change anything, but if it does change, your Netflix catalogue will adjust to what you’re watching and soon it will look like nothing ever happened

Q: GST/VAT and Tax related questions?

  • Thanks OP. Just signed Up.
1 Question. I save PayPal on my account as Preferred payment. wIll it get reject for the next payment?

    • I save PayPal on my account as Preferred paymen

I changed it to C.C. before I signed up with GC, just in case.

      • Thanks. I also have C.C save on my account too. maybe I should make C.C as Preferred payment.

  • I have a gift card (tried two). I have the VPN set to Turkey, Istanbul yet every time I get "invalid code". WFT??

    • @jefflang007 That doesn't sounds good. Where you get your gift card from?

      • One from G2A and one from Turgame. Neither works. I've been trying for two days to get it sorted…

        • Weird. I got my form G2A about a hour ago and signed up with no problem.
Try Windscribe VPN, see it if work.

          • @j00828: Windscibe is crazy slow on my PC. Can’t get it to work.

Surf Shark states I’m in Turkey

            • @jefflang007: Try urban vpn maybe?

              • @spikiii: Did just now

"An error occurred during gift redemption - please try again later".

                IPv6 Address Checking…
IP Location Istanbul, Istanbul (TR) [Details]

                • @jefflang007: tried doing it on a phone, a new computer, Still no joy….

                  • @jefflang007: I added a card on my account recently without issue (using Nord connected to Istanbul). PM me your Netflix account details and Giftcard and I'll log in and try add it for you! Sounds like a crazy idea I know but you can change your password after! OR of course as you don't know me, you could try Nord and see if that makes any difference.:-)

Other Option: If somebody else here is about to buy a Gift card, let them use yours to see if it works on theirs. If it does, they pay you the $$. Again trust is the hassle and not knowing the person!. Mine isn't due until 24th Feb and if my Cr/Card fails to Auto Bill, will need to grab another giftcard………..happy to try yours then if all else fails for you between now and then.

                    • @Borg: Honestly no idea how people manage to get these issues. Would be good to know

                      • @I Smell Pennies: Ditto. I’m no fool when it comes to tech et cetera. Currently running YouTube via India as an example. I’ve read your part three tut over and over to be stupidly sure I’m right…..it’s annoying the frack out of me.

  • I have found that the only way to redeem the TK GC is to turn OFF the VPN, when I use an AU IP it seems to work fine, but got countless errors when connected to the VPN set to Istanbul. YMMV

  • I managed to set up an account on Netflix Pakistan about a year ago, but I tried doing another one again over the course of several days about a month ago and I was no longer able to get it to work.

The method I used to get it to work a year ago was basically by following method Part 2 - I just directly entered the card details into the payment page, and at the time, it accepted it.

Now, I'm encountering the same issues pointed out here

  • I've been getting my giftcards from MTC game which charges a considerable conversion fee. G2A looks much cheaper but it has the disclaimer 'can not be activated in Australia'. Does anybody know if it would still work or another cheap source?

    • +1

I have no problem with turgame.

    • +1

G2A I almost purchased the other day 100tl seeing the price $ 6.48 untill I realised it was US dollars = $9.20, turgame was fine $16.25 for 200tl

    • +1

disclaimer 'can not be activated in Australia'

That just means you can't activate an Australian subscription but you can if you are in Turkey (in person or via VPN)

  • Turgame is now asking for TRY phone number so I switched to G2A. prices shown in AUD a couple of cents more than turgame but works out ok.

    • i just bought from turgame, the asking for a phone number was so they could send a verification code, you could change it to Australia. What purpose the verification code was for i do not know!!!

      • Ah man didn't think this lol. Thought turkey was the only country.

        Scam prevention probably

  • I had an issue trying to redeem a gift card before my Netflix subscription had expired. I received a “this gift card is not valid error”. Despite my sub expiring on 31 Jan I had to wait until 2 Feb. I then had no issues using the gift card I bought from Turgame.

Seperately, when I connected to PIA via Turkey whatsmyip was showing my location as United Kingdom, I couldn’t get it to Instanbul. This was despite it working properly just a couple of days ago. However, I was still able to redeem a Turkish GC. I have received an email confirming my sub of TL 130.99/month for Premium.

    Thanks OP!

How does this affect us who subscribed to Netflix Turkey in Australia?

    • It appears it will be a resetting clock that begins another 31 days every time you access a device from the home wifi router. So each device gets up to 31 days of access each time you are on home WiFi.

Its basically the same as Denuvo DRM for Steam.

      • The AUS and Turkey version of the help article makes no mention of a 31 day check in

        • It's what they have been openly discussing, they pulled it from negative feedback and said they are open to other alternatives.

    • I guess we'll see once/if it actually takes affect here or in Turkey. They indicate that it will be done by creating a "fingerprint" or unique identifier for the home network of the primary account holder. How that is done, and exactly what information is used is unclear. Best option would be the primary username & mac address of the local home router and if it's just that then it shouldn't impact anyone unless they are using Netflix from another network. If however Netflix include within that 'fingerprint' the public IP, that could be an issue - it would mean each user (including TVs etc) would need to use a vpn to connect to Turkey at least once a month. It would also increase the possibility that Netflix might start to get curious about how so many Turkish people seem to be visiting Australia. There may even be an issue with using a VPN, as if it's using the remote VPN IP address as part of the 'fingerprint' that address is likely to change each time you connect on.

Going into my Netflix account there is now a new option to "Manage Access and Devices". In there are all the devices that have connected to Netflix with my account, along with their public IP address - basically the IP address of my internet router. As a side note I use Aussie Broadband and it uses CG-NAT to share a single IPv4 IP address so that means there are going to be a lot of users on my "network".

In any case the challenge for Netflix will be privacy issues such as GDPR compliance. Effectively tracking whether people are home or not could cause some eyebrows being raised unless they provide users the ability to remove that information and not be tracked - which would break this proposed system. Turkey is not part of the EU so is not directly subject to GDPR but as European subjects do live and work there, they still need to comply plus Turkey has its own laws on the protection of personal data this change might hit.

TLDR - It could break this hack completely, or cause issues that will require work arounds, or it might not cause any issues. Will have to wait and see.

  • In anticipation of moving my profile off my existing family group, I made a new number confirmed account, Netflix gave me a refund for the $6.99 plan.

I had already setup Brazil giftcard before on the family account, but had trouble changing the card as it wasn't mine.

  • Im still having an issue as its asking me for a turkish number.. any solutions?

    • Got it working. I had to use a different computer and click "Skip this step"

      • "and click "Skip this step"

I think OP @I Smell Pennies may have to update your instruction, have to skip the C.C. backup method because we should have C.C. in their record already, otherwise it will ask for T mobile number.

        • Can you add backup method afterwards?

          • @Looney: I tried but doesnt work, asks for turkish mobile number.

I also tried contacting netflix through the vpn, they wont help manually adding new payment method.

        • @superforever can confirm myself as I tried sometime last week. Updated OP and thanks for the feedback

  • Bought a gift card from Turgame but I keep getting a message telling me it's not valid. I've tried changing VPN server, browser. I contacted Turgame and they say the code is valid. Anybody's got any other tip I can try?

    • My bad, just had to wait a day after my previous subscription had expired. Worked just fine today.

  • +3

stuffed it up :( - payment method was 'Paypal' linked to AU CC. You can't have Paypal as the payment method because Turkey doesn't have Paypal as a payment option.
Tried to log back in to the AU system to change it to credit card but it won't let me, also won't let me resubscribe to netflix in the AU system. It knows …. hahaha
It also redeemed the Turkish GC in the Turkish system ($7 down the drain).

anyways, just thought I'd give my feedback in case it helps anyone.

    • +1

That sucks mate but thanks for sharing

    • @dorothi_toto Thanks for your comment. Simple fix. All you gotta do is wait for the sub to expire and then restart from Part 1, now knowing you have to use a valid debit/credit card, no PayPal. I've updated OP to make note of this too

  • I can't seem to get this to work. Got the Gift Card from Turgame, that was fine. Now when I turn on the VPN to try to redeem, NordVPN won't load it and for PureVPN it thinks I'm in Japan. Can anyone suggest any free VPN to get this to work.

I don't want to waste this Gift Card either, and I spent a bit getting these VPN services now too.

    • +1

Windscribe fine for me and make sure your existing subscription already expired

    • Yeah Windscribe worked for me and is Free

    • +1

Windscribe 100%. Free, simple, less hassles

    • Nord worked fine for me. Best to check country after connecting to VPN. You can check via here https://ipinfo.io/ it will show current location.

      ip:"195.88.86.235",
      city:"Istanbul",
      region:"Istanbul",
      country:"TR",

    • Windscribe isn't working for me either. I'm using their chrome extension, and as soon as I use one of the locations everything grinds to a halt.

    • I still can't get this to work. Windscribe want me to not only disable, but uninstall my antivirus. Which seems to bit over the top. This isn't worth all the effort.

I thought I'd try NordVPN again since it has the new cashback, but I just updated my phone and now my GPay isn't going to my correct Google account. So I'm bit over getting this it work.

If anyone wants a Turkish GC, PM me.

      • I still can't get this to work. Windscribe want me to not only disable

Did you try chrome extension instead of full app?

        • Yes, tried both

          • @KenjiAU: If it is just to apply the Giftcard onto your account feel free to PM me. I am happy to try for you or is it that you are trying to switch to Turkey from scratch?

            • @Borg: I'm trying to switch to Turkey for the first time. Thanks for the offer.

  • Hmmm…. I can't seem to get this to work (using Windscribe VPN and confirmed that my IP was in Istanbul).
So I logged a ticket with Turgame and this was their response.

    "Hello,

    VERY IMPORTANT NOTE
Upload each code with a different IP. For this, for each code, first reset your modem and then install it.

    <code>

There is no problem with the code given to you. You can install by following the steps below.
Follow the steps below. While doing these operations, the VPN will be on and you will be connected to the Turkey IP. (If you still have problems, use a different VPN service.)

    1. Connect to VPN
    2. Select any city in Turkey.
    3. Login to gmail new account creation page.
    4. Get a new email address.
    5. Open the Netflix code download page.
    6. Type the code.
    7. Enter the e-mail address you just received on the page that opens and continue to upload.
    8. After the installation, you can turn off the VPN and watch netflix by typing this e-mail on your country’s IP.
    9. When you upload to the same mail address, you can connect to Turkey IP with VPN and upload.
    10. You cannot upload the code you received from us to an account that you did not receive from a Turkish IP.

    Regards"

I'm not sure why they want me to create a new gmail account and use that to sign up?
I want to leverage my existing Netflix account (from Part 1 of the instructions and I have cancelled as well for a few days now).

    Any ideas?

I replied to the ticket and said I wanted to use my existing account and not create a new gmail and a new netflix account and they replied with this:

    "Hello,

Unfortunately not. However, if you upload the code as described, you can track it from your own e-mail address. Turkey mail is only required for upload. You can open netflix with your own IP to watch Netflix.

    Regards,"

    • Make sure your existing subscription already expired.

      • ah ok, I'll try again in a few days. Thanks!

  • Turgame did not like my 28 Degrees. Got it from G2A easily for $9.48.
    Everything else worked perfectly (NordVPN).

  • Tried turgame payment with NAB, Ubank and Revolut and "gpay" and "paytr" both failed.

G2A was a bit more but worked without issues.

My AUS cc was expired, so I could redeem the gift card but had to delete the old cc as backup.

    • Update your C.C. before redeem the GC

      • Yeah, must do it before doing the gift card steps

      • Yeh, my mistake… cancelled the subscription but forgot that also in Jan the cc expired.

  • Thanks OP.

    Used the gift card method.

Netflix asked for a Turkish number for my backup payment method but after clearing my Chrome cache, I was able to 'skip this step'.

    • but after clearing my Chrome cache, I was able to 'skip this step'.

No need to clear chrome cache, just "skip this step" will do.

      • There was no option to skip this step initially.

        • Hmm .. I have the option to skip the first time

  • Is there a way or any info around this Passwords sharing and our Country set in Turkey yet?

  • +2

Worked like a beaut with g2a Turkish gift card and getflix turkey VPN. I was previously stuck with an old card I couldn't renew. So signed up for Aussie Netflix for a month on the cheapest plan using my new card, and cancelled and let it expire. Then followed this to get back into Turkey netflix

    • +1

FWIW: Just a reminder that you could have signed up and then via chat on the same day asked them to cancel it. They then refund you as it was only just created. This leaves you with the expired account. Saves waiting a month.

      • Yes true as my son accidentally renewed it this morning before I did this hack lol I did a chat and they refunded. oh well no big deal losing out an extra $10 for a month

  • It looks like Turkey isn't part of the "Paid Sharing" crack down, so assume we can avoid that issue a little longer…?

  • +1

Just succeeded following the steps in method 3, thank you so much for the great guide!

Turgame Gift card, Surfshark VPN to Turkey, confirmed IP was showing Istanbul. It asked me to re-add the VCC for the backup card I had already saved on the account so I hit 'skip this step' and got through.

  • Anyone having issue extending the subscription with the giftcard bought from G2A?

    • Yes I got an error message 'Sorry, we are unable to complete that action now. Please try again later.'

Edit: it worked after changing VPN from VPN Unlimited to PIA

  • +3

Thanks OP. Signed up this morning. Was bit of a wait to let my account expire. I think Netflix uses Pacific time. Thanks also to nc112 for his comment on the last post which was really helpful. I am copying it below:

Just thought I'd share my experience in case it helps others…

    Starting point
    * Australian Netflix subscription expired
    * Mobile number was previously added on my account
    * No credit card on my account

    Buy Netflix Turkey gift card
    * I used Turgame(turgame.com)
    * For me, it took several hours to receive the gift card

    Install free VPN (Windscribe)
    * Most people recommended NordVPN but I missed the previous 95% off deal
    * Windscribe(windscribe.com) has a free option which includes access to Turkey
    * Create an account
    * Download the Chrome browser extension(windscribe.com)
    * Log into the extension but don't turn it on yet

    Apply gift card to account
    * Log into Netflix account in Chrome browser - the 'restart membership' screen will show
    * Close Netflix tab
    * Close Chrome browser down
    * Reopen Chrome browser
    * In Windscribe extension, select the globe icon to change location to Turkey (make sure you choose Istanbul under Turkey)
    * Once location selected, turn VPN on
    * Paste this link into the browser: https://www.netflix.com/redeem page which will redirect to the Turkish equivalent page
    * Enter gift card code in
    * Select the plan you want (Basic, Standard or Premium)
    * When it asks for a backup payment, just skip
    * Your subscription is now renewed

    • So with no credit card attached to your account you will be purchasing gift cards, on a regular basis, to pay your subscription. Is that right?

      • it's not free, so yes, a method of payment is required.

Should have C.C. setup first before using the GC method.

        • Yeah I always had the CC added and mob verified on my account. This is just the copypasta from the original comment.

  • 1) Can I still sign up to Premium with 75 TL GC?
    2) Once my plan is cancelled by Netflix can I follow Step 3 straight away? Or do I need to wait a few days after cancellation before entering GC details?

    • 1) Apparently you can (some comment said one time) but I did 200TL to be safe
      2) Yes straight away

      Goodluck

    • Re signing up: if you're worried the full balance won't cover, you can sign up to the lowest plan and pay with gift card, then immediately change to upgrade to highest plan. By memory, netflix will do that instantly and then update the "end date" of your plan accordingly (as in earlier plan renewal date).
That's what it did last time for me (although that was paid with AUD).

    Extremely painful.

Got to final step, put the 100TL in, redeemed it then hit a wall of enter a Turkish number with zero luck of being able to skip it. Upon reopening Netflix can't see my voucher credit and I'm unable to redeem it again. Total waste of $10. Be cautious guys I think they've updated the system. You need a Turkish number now.

    • Ohhhhh no I hope not as I am about to go through this on 18/2

    • You should have been able to use the 100TL GC again and again if the plan didn't go through due to the Turkish number. Try again.

    • Don't use the add backup payment method, just skip it

      Part 3. number 5

I signed up, added my card and number.
Then went live chat, got it deactivated and got an instant refund.
Then used a VPN, redeemed gift card, selected begin membership showed 100TN, then took me to add Turkish mobile number.

At this point I exited page, went back, credits gone, contacted support. Said the credit never existed, wasted my money and no membership lol. And no skip step for turkey mobile number

        • You need to have expired AUS Netflix a/c with C.C. and mobile setup.

Connect VPN and redeem the GC and skip the add backup C.C. option because already have C.C. setup under the a/c.

          • @superforever: I did all that.

I didn't have a skip option when I hit the Turkish phone number wall.

My VPN via Windscribe is setting my location as Pune, India when I've selected Turkey. This is happening via both the Chrome extension and Windscribe installed on my mac. Incredibly frustrating

    • were you able to get it working?

      • nope, still an issue. a number of people on the Windscribe Reddit thread are having the same issue

    Good deal.
