Bonsoy Soy Milk 1L (Box of 6) $24.90 + Delivery ($0 with $70 Spend) @ Healthylife

320

Following on from my previous post with Coles discounting this product tomorrow (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/753982)

I've seen a way to get a bulk order of Bonsoy Soy Milk delivered for possibly $2.26 per 1L Carton.

Try to follow the bargain Inception logic:

Healthylife have 6 x 1L Bonsoy boxes selling for $24.90 (https://www.healthylife.com.au/shop/products/bonsoy-soy-milk…)
- by purchasing 3 boxes (18 x 1L units) you trigger the whopping discount of 3% ($24.15 per box) to arrive at the total of $72.46.

By spending over $70 you trigger free standard shipping and also by linking your Everyday Rewards card can earn 4000 points ($20 equivalent) technically dropping the price to $52.46. (January/February Healthylife promotion - can't see if you have previously claimed this on your first order being excluded in the T's & C's)

Final layer of the deal is that Cashrewards are currently offering 18% cashback at Healthylife (https://www.cashrewards.com.au/healthylife) which should track at the full price of $72.46 (approx $11.85) to arrive at the final total of $40.61 for 18 x 1L Bonsoy Soy Milk cartons delivered (approx $2.26 per unit)

The above pricing requires you to have a Cashrewards account, Everyday Rewards account and a home address to have the soy milk delivered to (apologies for those sleeping/living rough)

I personally don't even drink this stuff but can't resist going down the rabbit hole of bargain stacking.

Hope this helps those that want what appears to be a highly regarded Soy Milk.

Cheers

"Men who eat a lot of soy foods may have a lower sperm concentration than men who don't eat soy foods"

So also doubles as pregnancy protection.

Another bargain to stack, we're on a roll!

      • +3

Great, I can save on getting the snip.. thanks!

      • The secret ingredient to a peaceful and soy-ful life.

    • +1

      Literally the next sentence:

"But the study … doesn't claim that soy foods are to blame for those lower sperm concentrations"

      • +1

No, it doesn't claim that. The studies showed that those who consumed more soy products, had lower sperm concentrations.

      • +4

Yeah it’s probably not the soy itself but the food that they would otherwise eat if they weren’t soyboys

        • It's probably the lack selenium, or possibly zinc.

Soy boys 2 decades ago (when the study was conducted) didn't have the same ability to whip out their smart phone and Google "how can I get selenium in my 95% tofu diet?" and be told 2 Brazil Nuts per day should do it in an instant.

It's like having a study that concludes "people who swim in salt water may be more likely to suffer from skin cancer". Yeah, that may be true, but the causation isn't being submerged in salt water. The causation is more likely to be being in the sun all day, which correlates with swimming at the beach.

The fact that the study shows "sperm concentration was more pronounced in … obese men" gives a good hint at the likelihood there's other factors at play (not having a well-rounded, diverse diet).

That's probably why "the study [authors don't] claim that soy foods are to blame", because they don't want to put their name behind that shakey claim.

the need to comment on everything everytime.

            Yet another lie

            prove it.

          • +1

@G-rig: It's an important PSA for men who want to maintain sperm count or adequate testosterone levels.

            • @idonotknowwhy: Lol 2008 article. Everyone becomes a medical and nutritional expert as soon as soy or vegan is mentioned.

There are many factors that would affect it and people's diets.

And yes easy to get a heap of selenium in one Brazil nut.

              • @G-rig:

And yes easy to get a heap of selenium in one Brazil nut.

Wait what's this? I literally eat 5 brazil nuts per week to get enough iodine.

                • +1

@idonotknowwhy: Yeah one a day isn't it? I don't worry about it t but I'm sure you've checked in chronometer.
Edit: just checked, one nut is 90mcg = 165% RDI. Woulnd't be hard having one a day or two days.

My wife and I couldn't concieve when I was drinking a lot of soy.

      Then we stopped doing anal.

    • Not to mention all the added sugar in this soy "milk" just to make it drinkable.

    • I don't know if it will lower my sperm count, but I know it reduced my sexual desire and my ability to erect after a month of 1L soy milk every 2 days, it's damn scary. I have been staying away from soy milk from then on, still can drink a cup or two once in a while.

      • Erectile dysfunction caused by only 20ml of soy isolate every day? Well that explains Japan's aging population…

        • -1

          Not 20ml, 500ml a day

          • +1

@luminair: 500ml of "soy milk", of which only 20ml is actually soy. You'd consume over 20 times that amount of soy (over ~200g) in one sitting if you ate a meal where soy was the primary protein source, e.g. a sweet 'n' sour tofu stir fry.

      • +2

        Booze and chicken cause that..

You'd have to drink 10L/day and it would be the same for dairy milk anyway.

        Soy and Men Hormones Study:
        https://aacrjournals.org/cebp/article/10/3/179/283089/Effect…

        • I don't drink alcohol, but cutting down soy milk solved the problem straight away.

          • @luminair: ha rightio. Must have been drinking about 10L per day.. Too many factors to jsut say it's soy lol..

Never had that problem - only have about 200mL of soy for coffee in the morning but even then use oatmilk half the time.

      • Can't say the same about my bf…

  • Thanks for the post, good timing to stack up the soy milk.

Just bought it as suggested, for some reason, the cashback is only '$2.53' instead of '$11.85'.
    Still a very good deal.

  • +1

I just bought it and while cashrewards says 18%
The cashback amount is just $2.53?

    https://ibb.co/nMyt5dV

    • Can probably submit a claim for that, since it isn't working as advertised.

      • yes, I have already log an incorrect cashback enquiry with screenshot
probably should be able to claim back

        • My one has changed to $13.05

  • FYI usually $3-3.50/L shipped with Amazon on sale.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706428

    • Its still better factoring the 4000 everydays rewards points (spending over $70)

  • 18 cartons is a lot, what's the general expiry on this type of shelf stuff?

    • +1

Long enough if you use it for coffee and/or cereal every day.

I buy oat milk in wholesale bulk from a friend with a cafe (around 36 cartons at a time) and I always get through it before it expires (which is only a best before date anyway).

      • Bloody hell that's a large amount 😅

I think my bigger concern would be where to store it all

        • +1

Next to the Quilton 4-Ply and the Eneloops.

          • @dontpanic: The leftover quilton from lockdown shortage days

    • +1

Usually 9 months minimum in my experience. But I just got some from Woolies the other day and they're good til Feb 2024. Very nice.

      • Oh nice thanks.

  • -2

My dad uses soy milk but adds skim milk to make it taste better fml. Someone slap this mofo

  • If CR is only $2.53 one can use the $10 off new customer code by signing up with healthylife.

  • +2

Upvoted for the description and effort involved.

  • +1

Wow.. it's back in stock but they are trying to charge $31 for 'bulk shipping' because of a heavy order. That's bloody pathetic. Good job morons. Who would pay over $30 for shipping? What BS.

    • +1

Screw that, get from Amazon when on special.

      • Yeah, kicking myself I didn't grab any this cycle - seems to be sold out now :(

Damn this mob gave me hope, I was waiting until it was back in stock but then they upped the freight costs. How annoying.

        • +1

Yeah that's annoying, just have to get something else in the meantime between deals hey
