As good as this deal earlier in January. I'm glad these are getting cheaper now, it used to be around $55 last year when on sale.

100% Agree. I would buy the Nano II GaN charger again when it goes on sale.

      • +1

1000% agree, I have Nano and would not consider buying any other charger now. I put it behind the side table stick with a Velcro tape and it’s been great. I take it out when I travel and instead of carrying multiple chargers, now just carry one charger.

Edit: sorry I meant the Anker slim version that I have not the Nano which still looks bulky.

      So its HODL time.

does fast charging reduce battery lifespan/quality?

    • -1

does fast charging reduce battery lifespan/quality?

PPS takes direction from the battery/device as to optimal current/voltage at any given point in a charge.

    • Not sure but my s21 ultra charges from 5 to 85% in 34 mins

    • I feel PD PPS is least stressful for battery.

The old QC2.0 and QC3.0 used to heat up the battery.

Even now i can see the difference.

When i plug in PD PPS my Note 10 plus charges faster and is cooler to the touch than charging via QC3.0 and QC2.0

But fast charging via wireless charging is a No No
The phone gets noticeably warm.I have stopped doing wireless charge.

    • PD on a Pixel 7 Pro - very little heat generation during charge, and when it gets to 100% it stops charging. YMMV however this should extend battery life - and of course only charging to 80-90%.

MKBHD did a great video on this.

      • Watched that and forgot the conclusion. Time to rewatch.

        • TL;DR?

  • Showing as $34.99 for me with coupon code. Not sure if Ebay plus exclusive.

    • Unique eBay Plus coupon code.

    • That’s your eBay plus every month you get $5 off if you spend $15 or more

  • d'oh only just got 45W for ~$35 not too long ago (granted, not that I have any need for the extra power, yet)

The U in USB used to stand for "universal", now it is anything but.

There are so many standards since its inception, not only the devices themselves, but even the chargers can be very confusing.

Often just because peripherals and cables share similar looking USB interface, no guarantee they are compatible.

    • +1

It's actually getting a lot better again. Especially if you have a 65w charger, it'll pretty much charge any device (outside of some very high power laptops).

    • Yeah, I lost my cable to run from my dock to my laptop. Bought a 100w not realising that it was USB 2, not 3.

In saying that, tempted to get a charger like this, so can pair that cable up with the charger long term.

    • +2

Personally, I like it. You get up to 60W charging with the most basic cable which is enough for most devices. It is even enough for an MBP with light usage.

I generally buy 100W/USB2 cables as I mostly charge devices. I generally carry around a few 100W/USB2 cables and a USB 3.1 cable for the rare times I need to transfer data or use a USB Display. It is relatively easy to tell cables apart based on labelling and how thick they are.

Thunderbolt and USB-C alt-mode is also great as it allows a single connection for power and multiple displays.

      • This is exactly what I mean, can't expect non-tech people aware of all these variations.

Come to forum like this there are knowledgeable people such as yourself to explain.

Walk in to a shop, the guy selling the cables may not know the differences, more than likely recommending the most expensive cable and still may not work.

        • +1

The same thing can be said about buying any tech. For example, monster cables are a thing, I know a few people with laptops which are complete overkill for their needs.

  • Is it compatible with iphone 14 pro max?

    • +1

      yes

  • Is this compatible with Samsung? How fast does it chaarge?

    • Depends - are you talking about battery percentage, or the amps? The phone needs to support fast charging too.

    • Yes, supports PD and does up to 45W PPS.

      How fast does it chaarge?

It will super fast charge assuming your phone supports it. The answer is a search away.

  • Thanks for the info just purchased.

I bought the 65W power pod charger. The device went dead and caused a short circuit and tipped my power supply.

    • How was the warranty?

      • There was a faulty batch

          was ebay messages not working?

          • @askbargain: Yes but could not send images of the charger /invoice pdf copy.

            • @oziebee: You got a replacement unit though right?

              What’s the problem?

Does this have the AU plug section as part of the shell, or is this one where it slips/clips off and there's an American one underneath?

Anyone can share the tech specs. I need to know specifics to power some LEDs.

Can't find this specific device on Anker's site for some reason and all the other sites say 5v 65W which I don't believe for a second. I would think it's 15v/20v 65w.

Edit: Found a random review site

    Specs

  • Any 100W PD charger? I really need that for my laptop.

    • I bought this, Yet to arrive.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/baseus-gan3-pro-desktop…

From the specs, I believe that if you only have the one device plugged into the USB-C port, it is 100W (20V, 5A).

      • That is one of the better chargers on the market would you believe it. Rated better than the Anker equivalent.

        • Looking forward to receiving it. Way better than the old powerboard with a couple of USB-A ports on it.

  • How does this compare vs the anker 735 and the Belkin boost charge pro?

    • The 735 is a GaN charger while this probably isn't. Supposedly it's smaller in size too compared to this one.

  • Would one of these or a A2667 be usable with a apple watch 8 without risk of damage? cheers

    • A standards-compliant USB charger that has power ratings higher than what your device needs is not going to damage your device, the device only draws as much power as it needs. This charger is overkill if you just want to charge a watch though, probably want to get this one for $16.8 instead.

Many of the cheaper ones like this look like they come from the same factory. Gather they have the same potential failure rate as the Heymix arson plugs.
