@[Deactivated]: Mine delivered today too (Perth). Happy days!

            • @Dekard06: @Dekard06 - cheers thanks for letting me know. How long did it take for it to change from the last sorted to destination?
              Enjoy the SD.

              • @[Deactivated]: It still says “parcel submitted to carrier”. Not even in transit according to the courier, don’t trust the tracking! I got a Toll text and then it was delivered….

                • @Dekard06: @Dekard06 thanks mate! Hopefully I get it this week!!

          • @[Deactivated]: I will let you know mate. Mine aligned with couple of forks until last Friday in terms of tracking, it had been stuck on in transit to destination since. Which is the next step to your sorted to destination.
The tracking doesn’t make much sense and I noticed the first few steps are exactly the same amongst us including the timestamp … I suspect they some kind pseudo tracking status only served as indication. I think we will get it this week.

          • @[Deactivated]: Did you have any movement on in app tracking today just wondering? :)

            • +1

@angelsdsd: Hey @angelsdsd - unfortunately no movement. Hopefully we get something tomorrow :)

@angelsdsd: @angelsdsd - I've had some movement on the tracking today

              • @[Deactivated]: I still don’t have anything … since Thursday last week, gotta be something wrong. Looks like you will get it tomorrow!

                • @angelsdsd: @angelsdsd - Surely your one should arrive first. I'll let you know when mine arrives. I'd reach out to catch if it doesn't update by tomorrow.

@[Deactivated]: Just saw mine updated to align with your status now too :)
Hope we can both get it tomorrow!

                    • @angelsdsd: Still no toll SMS yet this morning, the tracking status seems to be repeating itself for some steps.
The SSD I bought from US on the same day 3rd Feb arrived yesterday already ..

I felt a bit of buyer's remorse the day I received the Steam Deck but oh my god has that changed.

The Steam Deck is one of the most amazing electronics I've ever bought in my life.

Everything about it is amazing; the feel of the controls, the software, the screen is pretty good (I am quite glad I went with the 512 gb version for the matte screen), the build quality and the speakers (especially) are all mindblowingly well designed, the soundstage that you using the speakers is extremely impressive. This is such an amazing device, Valve has knocked it out of the park with this.

Seriously so impressive that Valve started out making video games and now is competing in the hardware space. The Deck really is a culmination of all their work since Big Picture mode and the Steam controller came out, all I can say every time I use the Deck or think of it is "WOW!" Simply amazing, they basically built individual components as their own standalone product and now the Deck is all of those things put together into one device. I hope Valve makes a boatload selling these.

Nice! Mine was waiting for me when I got home from work tonight, talk about a nice little valentines day gift for myself :D

Going through setup now. Looking forward to be being able to chip away at more backlog more often. Going to have to figure out how this whole emulation thing works at some point too I guess :)

Upgraded my internal 64gb to 512gb - been super impressed with the steam deck.

But a word of warning - remove the SD card before opening the back case. I knew this but forgot and snapped my 512gb SD card. It was brand new and super dooper fast too.. :(

    Sandisk 512gb extreme pro… $115 :(

    • :'(

    • Thanks for the warning. Which SSD did you go with?

      • +1

I went with the Samsung PM991

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265927969241

I also have dual boot Windows 10 via external SSD (initially had it on the SD card), but read that given the number of read/write that is required, that it may damage the SD card.

The reason that I raise the dual boot and do recommend, is because 'some' games run better on Windows than Steam OS (or the current revision of proton), plus Windows gives you access to Xbox Game Pass (natively, not streaming)

  • Anyone has idea how to buy the official steam deck dock?
