    • Oh, i thought that was a samsung typo. Isn't the official release date the 16th or 17th?

      • Ya but shipping date is 6th. Who knows, for a company like Samsung they have a lot to fix on their website.

I called Samsung this morning regarding my order and they said ya we will ship next week and it could take uoto 10 days to deliver. I wonder if they are going with 6th+10 days

      • +2

Samsung always ship pre-orders early. Now they just officially state that on the webpage.

        • so we will get the phone before 16th?

        • Received an Aust Post update this morning to advise delivery will be tomorrow (7/2), so fingers crossed.

    • +2

Hopefully you got it under their name so they can claim TRS

    • -4

the accessories start shipping on 6th. the phone only start shipping on the 17th. you parents will sadly miss out.
EDIT: can I get some more negs please? :D

  • Shouldn't the double storage offer be valid for EDU per the promo T&Cs? or is it just not working at the moment
    https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/offe…

    • read the comments above has been explored multiple times already

      • ah yeah I see now, missed the convo on the previous page

  • Can't afford to drop $1000+ on a new phone. Could look at the Samsung Finance Interest Free option, but does anyone know if there is a monthly fee I need to pay?

    • $8.95 a month account fee and march it goes to 9.95. Its in fine print at the bottom

"Total price is up to $2,649 which excludes $8.95 monthly account service fee payable to Latitude Financial (Effective from 29th March 2023, the monthly account service fee will increase to $9.95)."

      • Thanks, so that would equate to another $119.40 for 12 months on top of the phone. Yeah nah

  • According to Whirlpool, some have been spontaneously emailed a 10% VIP discount. Anyone know how to get one?

    • literally just read the same thing. Apparently they had the phone in cart but then left there and didnt purchase.. next day or so a code was emailed.

      • Thanks, gonna fill up my cart now.

      • I asked chat for a $50 and they said they would email me 10% voucher in 24-48hours….

That wass 4 days ago, no voucher yet. Tho, i also signed up for $50 vouchers on two email addresses, and got none… and none last time i tried aa well months ago. I imagine they wouldnt work with the BonusCare voucher, so wouldnt use the $50 and may not use the 10% - though, samsung care is 50% off, so maybe i would use 10%?

    • Nice find, did they say on a edu or normal account?

      • the one we got was only for normal site

    • Wouldn’t count on that if it’s targeted.

    • We rang up a while back and asked for one and they sent a 10% code about a week later. edu site still works out a little cheaper still for s23 ultra 512

  • Thanks, the same deal is available via the corporate store. Traded in a useless old phone for $25 plus $150 bonus trade in. And then added BONUSCARE.
    I ordered S23+ 512Gb - $1179.20
    samsung care+ $124.50
    (S23+ phone + samsung care = $1304.20)
    and added a 40mm Watch5 LTE for $299
    total 1603.20

If I went for the Ultra 512Gb it would have been total 1773.20 including the watch
    breakdown - S23 Ultra 512Gb - 1449.70
    samsung care+ $124.50
    (ultra phone + samsung care = $1574.20)
and added a 40mm Watch5 LTE for $199 (get an extra $100 discount for ultra)
    total 1773.20

    • I think you meant S23+ 512Gb for $1479.20? Total of $1603.20 works out as:

      $1,479.20 (S23+ 512GB)
      + $0 (Samsung Care)
      - $150 (Trade in bonus)
      - $25 (Trade in value)
      + $449 (Watch)
      - $150 (eVoucher)

      = $1603.20

      • You are right, but this is how it's listed on the checkout page:

        1 x Galaxy S23+ $1179.70
        Samsung Care+ $124.50
        1x Galaxy Watch5 Bluetooth + 4G (40mm) $299

    • i got the s23 ultra 256gb + watch 5 pro total was $1634.40 from education store

      • DId you have trade in - is that based on the S23U 128gb price?

  • I tried online order with Samsung account (not Edu though) and I think the Cashrewards works just fine (not applied for Edu right?) - my question is when I try to get Trade In code from old phone, it says Samsung will charge Security Charge something as a bond, so I have not proceed yet - anyone who has done this pls tell me if the shopping cart will give -300 straight away when you load the Trade In ID or gotta go through assessment by SS later?

    • Trade in people will put an authorisation for what your trade in value is until you send the phone in.
In the cart the trade in value as well as the $300 will come off in the cart price

      • Thanks for clarifying! I will try again later though as the trade in option is not working at the moment, not sure if others have same issue

      • do you know what happens if you change your mind about trading in your phone?

will we loose the bonus ?

        I have been charged the $380 + $1 for s21 ultra

        Thanks in advance

  • So is the tradein site broken? cant get past entering imei

  • Did the Education store trade in bump up to 300? Or did they increase the price to offset that.

    • Still showing at $200

      • What's the trade in for the s23 plus on edu?

  • Also the EDU site doesn't get any Samsung rewards points - don't be misled!

    • My order says 12k though

    • yes you do, I got 1% in december, even now it says I would (I didnt proceed yet)

"Are there any exclusions/exceptions for earning Samsung Rewards Points through purchasing at Samsung.com?
Samsung Rewards Points are only earned on eligible purchases made through the Samsung.com/au (excluding the Samsung Education Store, Samsung Business, Samsung Enhanced Partnership Portals and Samsung Government).

Purchases made outside of these purchases will not earn Samsung Rewards Points, and Samsung Rewards may vary depending on product purchased. Certain orders are not eligible for Rewards, including but not limited to those placed by resellers, third parties, or as the result of fraud. Samsung reserves the right to alter and modify benefits and exclusions at any time."

      • <s> interesting because when I log into my EDU portal and try to preorder I can see the preorder price, estimated date etc. as well as how many reward points I will get :) It shows right there before you hit the "proceed" button :) </s>

correction - On EDU it was showing the "estimated points earned" (or some similar wording) last night, now it shows "Earn XYZ points back in Rewards (Samsung Rewards member only)" - however I am already a member, I am logged in and and as of right now I still have my points from previous order in December - hope I will not loose them ($21 worth)
Also the estimated points earned are now shown at 10x the rate, but last night it was 1x

Thats from my previous order, it was credited.

      • Where do you press join to sign up to Samsung rewards? I don't understand how to join it once I'm logged in..

    • Order shows there are rewards points, but can understand if the points are voided later.

What's best for a 512gb S23U? Edu store with $200 trade in, no rewards points or normal store with both?

    • I used the normal store with S22 Ultra 256GB Trade-in.

Ended up being $1048 Total After Tradein With BONUSCARE Code.

      S23 Ultra 512gb + 12GB Ram - $999 ($1949 - $650 256GB S22U Tradein - $300 Bonus Tradein)
      24 Month Samsung Care+ - Free (BONUSCARE)
      Galaxy Buds2 Pro - $50.00 ($300 RRP - $250 Pre-Order Voucher)
      Total - $1048

      RRP:
      S23 Ultra 512gb + 12GB Ram - $2249 (Dumb expensive)
      24 Month Samsung Care+ - $249
      Galaxy Buds2 Pro - $300
      Total RRP - $2798

Pretty reasonable after everything considering I've had the S22U for a year now (Purchased ~$1600)

Make sure that you use the $250 voucher when you order the phone otherwise the value gets forfeited. I had to cancel my original preorder because I rushed through the cart and didnt use the voucher.

Hope my math checks out and that this helps someone.

      • Do you think the upgrades from S22 Ultra 256GB to S23 Ultra 512GB worth $1,048 that you paid? Except minor upgrade on processor speed and may be slight battery improvment, I don't see any meaningful upgrades. Asking because I also own S22U 256GB and was thinking to upgrade but can't justify paying over $1k for these minor upgrades.

        • I wouldnt say that its essential - I like my S22U but thought i'd get myself a present.

Camera quality on my S22U has been awesome, and if it gets better then thats a plus.

~$700-800 isn't too bad of a deal for a new flagship if you consider the buds as well (for myself).

  • Something I noticed but not sure if correct.

The terms state that once you purchase samsung care, and then decide to cancel, that you don't get refund, but you will still be subscribed until the end of your subscription and then it will cancel.. is that correct?

But in the cart when purchasing, if you add samsung care and use the code, it will take 150 off the price of the phone in your cart, instead of just adding care for free.

So, if you decide to cancel an order, or refund, you wont actually get the full price of the phone back, and will still be stuck with samsung care subscription.
Again, that cant be correct, can it?

    • Interesting find. Having used their care+ service twice, I can confirm that Samsung's billing and care+ service can be a big headache. My ticket took multiple months to resolve with much back and forth between Asurion and Samsung. I can't understand why they can't just simply make the billing simple by reducing Care+ to $0

  • +2

Ordered for the S23 to replace my S20. Trading in my old S8.

  • For anyone that wants to try their luck getting the email for $50 newsletter code, although the newsletter deal does not popup on the page, somehow made my way to the direct page to sign up.
    https://shop.samsung.com/au/sign-up

Note it's unlikely these work on the edu/EPP pages
However after trade-in/cashback/Samsung rewards and newsletter code for me it worked out cheaper on the regular Samsung site

in the past there has been issues of it arriving, but usually an email to Samsung mentioning that you have not received it and they will email a code with a day or 2.

There used to be a Wanted thread in the classified which shows expired, not sure if worth creating another on.

    • got it confirmed from cashrewards that there will be no cashback from Samsung if you use the voucher. Not sure about Shopback.

  • With the trade in, what happen if i don't send it over?my phone is only valued for $1.

    • +1

You will get charged the $1 + $60 admin fee

    • you get charged $1 + $60 admin fee… to be nonest any phone valued at $1 it's worth sending it in for the bonus, I highly doubt you would find anyone that would buy it privately.

      • +1

Yes. Either send it or root the phone to spoof lock 7-11 fuel.

  • Is Samsung care + 50% off only ???

email i received doesnt say anything for 50% - just read its for 2 years discount will be applied

    Can someone confirm ?

    • +2

      Use code BONUSCARE at checkout

    • +2

It's free with the promo code BONUSCARE
You need to add the Samsung care code to cart then apply the promo code

  • Doing a pre-order on regular Samsung site, can anyone tell me what is the promotional offer ?

    • +2

      It's the free storage upgrade

  • Does anyone know if one cancels their order which had a trade up code used on it, will the trade up code be freed up for use straight away again or could there be issues entering it and it saying code already used if re-ordering immediately after 1st order is cancelled?

    • +3

I just literally had to do this an hour ago - not even to the stage of finalising and then cancelling the order, but just using the trade-up code to add to the cart, then realising I'd selected the wrong colour, cancelling it and trying again.

You can't reuse the trade up code once it has gone to the cart. You have to log in to the Asurion portal (https://samsungtradeup.asurion.com.au/), select "Cancel Trade ID", go back to the app, and generate a new Trade ID.

Managed to successfully order using the new Trade ID.

      • lucky…I had an issue during payment and don't get the option to cancel the trade Id via the Asurion portal

  • +1

FYI code BONUSCARE still works to get the samsung care for free.

  • Any potential issues with trading in a grey import?

    • +1

Nope, I registered an overseas phone too. Even through I don't plan to trade it.

      • Not sure how you managed it. I've tried both my phones S9 and S22 both Dual sim grey imports. App doesn't like either of them.
Ended up buying a aus new S7 off gumtree.

        • We have a s20 that's either from Europe or India, worked like a charm. It's dual Sim, so I was able to actually have 2 trade up IDs with 2 imeis

          • @abs898: Oh wow, two trade ins with one device, clever.
Did you use the app or another means?

            • @Rbnutz: App, get one ID, clear cache and it resets.

              • @abs898: Hmm nope doesn't like mine at all. SM-S9010. Oh well. Thanks

                • @Rbnutz: Otherwise do you know how to replace Samsung OS with another region?

                  • @abs898: Nope, I don't. Maybe google will help. Regardless my S9 is practically useless so no harm trying to re flash it.

                    • @Rbnutz: Flash it with XSA(Australia code for Samsung) firmware. Look into using Odin, it's pretty straight forward.

                      • @abs898: Thanks for you help, I'll give it a try tomorrow

                      • @abs898: But that wouldn't change the IMEI i suppose?

                        • @seanyong: Depends what the issue is? Is it IMEI, model number or regional firmware ?

                        • +1

@seanyong: No it won't. iMEI is chip based on motherboard

        • I traded in an overseas version iPhone 11, no problems in generating a trade-in ID. But I am not planning to send back the phone anyway.

          • @seanyong: Neither am I

            • @abs898: Ok, successfully didn't brick it!
Aaaaand still ineligible. My gut says it'll be based on the IMEI. Think it was likely a HK variant.
Anyway gave it a shot. Screen missing inputs on LHS before so was practically worthless anyhow.

              • @Rbnutz: People have entered incorrect IMEIs or other phone IMEIs and still been able to do it. SO WEIRD!

                • @abs898: The App says its eligible soon as you select "this phone". Is there a way to do it outside of the app?
Failing that I'll wait for a good deal with JB or officeworls etc. Hopefully their process is less stringent.

  • Is the trade in function down ?

    • Yes for me

  • Question: stupid one I think…. instead of the EPP/Govt price, am I best to use a 15% off (loyalty voucher, recent warranty claim) and BONUSCARE? I think it works out to be paying $1657 for the Ultra 512GB. I am not trading anything in.

    • Loyalty voucher is not being accepted in the checkout

    • NO loyalty, what's warranty claim?

  • how did you get a loyalty code?

    • No Loyalty for s23 yet. Spoke to customer service they said about April

The tradein function says that its down but it still works - just type the code in even though it says "invalid" in red, and after you type everything in it will turn blue.

Hope my math checks out and that this helps someone.

    • I am still getting this error - "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" doesn't let me proceed

      • issue was resolved by simply closing the tab and starting the order from cart.

  • Will Asurion refund their "security charge" to generate a tradein code if order is not processed later on?

    • yup they will release the security charge.
Includes if you cancel It too

      • Thanks!

  • +1

Pulled the trigger - my order says "ship by 6 Feb" - is that true? I thought 17 Feb!

Also, do we have to send the trade in phone only when the new phone delivery (and 7 days from there to hand in the item)?
