  • Someone tell me I don't need to upgrade from an S22U 1TB…

    • +1

      you need to

    • NOPE - I ordered S23U 256 earlier and cancelled it.

    • -1

      I'm in the same boat
      S22u battery is so trash

    • Same, have a S22U 1TB, was excited before the unpacked event, now I am contemplating whether do I upgrade to S23U 1TB

    • Why would you? To the average on looker, they can't tell that you are rocking an s23 ultra in your hand. Unless you show them an s22 ultra side by side. It an like the iphone 13 to iphone 14.

    • +1

I truly think there is no point to upgrade from S22u to S23u….

  • I'm trading in a S21U 256GB. The website says the trade in value is $445, but the app says it's $380, what gives. What's everyone else getting?

    • I had the same issue. I contacted Samsung and they asked me to send an email to asurion ([email protected]).
They also instructed me to NOT place the order because they are not able to adjust the value once the order was created.
They said it's better to wait asurion to change their quote from their end.
This is totally rubbish as I think it's Samsung's job to make sure their partner is doing their job.

      • @seanzyc, did you get a response from that email address?

I've been going back and forth between Asurion, and they've just come back saying "We have informed Samsung regarding this, and they will contact you directly. Thank you."

I'm not sure what that means. I've already put my order through. Does that mean they'll refund me the difference for my S21?

        • Yeah I received something similar after some back and forth emails. Asurion's reps are hopeless.
I also received an email this Monday from Samsung that
"It has come to our attention that the Trade-in value provided for your order was lower than the advertised amount on the Samsung Trade-Up pricing guide due to an administrative error. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused. We are pleased to advise that the gap of $40 will be refunded. This refund wil be processed within the next five (5) business days to the payment method used to place the order."
Check your spam if they have sent you an email. If you did not receive this email, maybe ask a live chat or call them and let them escalate this issue for your order?

          • @seanyong: @seanzyc All good, I only received the email from Asurion this afternoon, so I'm assuming I'll get an email from Samsung soon. How long did it take between the email from Asurion and the email from Samsung?

    • Same deal for all phones i think. I tried my s22 ultra, app says $650, website $725.

  • I don't have an email that ends with .edu.au

What can i do to get it?

Is it a good deal or what ?

    • +1

Cashrewards won't honour any partnership website orders. It will detect it and then reject later.

      • +2

        still a great price IMO

    • How did you get that for $1444.50 plus all the bonuses?

      • Also curious…

    • Please explain how

    • How did you get that

    • Telco EPP 50% deal?

For trade up, is there any way to convince the Samsung Tradeup app that I have a device model that I don't actually have?

I wouldn't send it in anyway, just looking for a slightly sneaky way to get the $200 / $300 (less $60) bonus.

    • +1

I would assume the only way would be to use a friend's phone I guess.

But I would assume that would disqualify them from trading it in at a later date as it'll use their IMEI number

  • +1

Btw if you add the wireless fast charger it will delay your complete order to the 13th from the 6th

  • From what i can workout going through jb hifi.

I get $800 from my trade in of my s22 ultra 256gb via jb.
    Then an additional $300
plus the $250 e gift card.

So with the bonus memory upgrade.
    Its $1949
    -$800
    -$300
    -250
    =$599

If im correct? And reading the jb hifi terms correctly?

    • That giftcard is after you have the phone not for pre order

      • T&c say if you pre order instore you get the gift card at the time. And normally you dont need to pay upfront for pre orders unless its different with mobiles?

        • +1

Sorry my bad, says will be given at time of order completion.

    • why dont you sell the s22 ultra 800 seems bit low?

if u're in melb se suburbs i'd offer you 800 lol

      • +1

Its 800 plus 300 bonus so 1100 all up.

And its better than dealing with fb marketplace/gumtree haha

        • Mobilemoster offered me $900 this morning you just need to ship them via their shipping label.

          • @abs898: Still prefer to do the deal via jb. Extra 250 gift card plus 200 more value for trade in.

        • ahhh makes sense if u legit gonna send it back lol…

if u have another old eligible phone do what most/and prob what i will do

put in s7 get the bonus 300 and dont send phone…

(then u sell ur s22 elsewhere)

          • @spoonmugen: You need an imei number. I dont have any other phone.

So you get the 300, then they charge you $60 so you make 240 for nothing?

          • @spoonmugen: Reading the jb trade in t&c.

They will charge the full trade in amount so say i use my s22u they will charge 800 if they dont recieve the phone and so on. So would need to find the oldest phone possible thats under the $300 bonus for the s23u bonus credit.

            • +1

@Agechamp: Just check the cracked screen option with any phone. The value drops to $1 and is still eligible for the trade-in bonus.

              • @rski: Quick question. Will they only charge back the original trade in value or will they do the bonus credit also.

So say the phone comes down to $50 with a cracked screen.

                Plsu the 300 bonus.

If i dont send the phone will they just charge my card the 50 or the 350?

      • I have a mint s22U

  • Do you need to provide copy of ID for trade in?

    • It did prompt to ask for my passport/drivers license/keypass id

      • Thanks for confirmation. Do you know how long is TradeID valid for once generated?

        • Mine says valid until 6 March.

  • Anyone has experience using cashback while trading in a device?
Is the cashback calculated on the amount actually paid or the amount before the trade-in credit?

    • Using a partnership epp site wont give you cashback at all.

      • I am using the normal onine store.

  • So has anyone had success with additional discounts?

  • If i trade in a watch is the trade in value able to go towards discount off the phone or is it only available to trade in towards another watch ?

  • +2

If you want to buy the 512GB S23+ or the 512GB/1TB S23 ULTRA, it is a better choice to buy directly from the official online store. Compared with the education store, the official online store provides free capacity upgrades, an extra $100 trade-in bonus, 8% cashback, and reward points worth 10% of the selling price (Usually 1%, but s23/+/ultra offers 10x rewards points), which makes the final price far lower than the education store price.

BONUSCARE likely to invalidate cash back ?

      • I got cashback with BONUSCARE code from ShopBack after ordered 10 mins.

        • How much $$ tracked ?

          • +1

@Jd0911: $102 for 1249 paid for phone (careplus price excluded)

            • @Stevendkl: So you went through the normal Samsung store? Did you use any trade in?

              • @Jd0911: Yes with trade in

                • +1

@Stevendkl: Shopback might invalidate your cashback because you used the promo code, it is part of their terms and conditions.

                  • @ballistykx: I have done it last year, it definitely works

                    • @Stevendkl: How much is the rewards points worth and what can you use it for?

                      • @MKBHD: $1 spend =10 points
100 point = $1 redeemable at samsung online store purchase

                    • @Stevendkl: Sure? Multiple people saying their cb was invalidated eventhough it was tracked initially.

    • What price are you seeing on the normal store for the 512gb or 1tb? I thought edu store works out slightly cheaper

      512gb is $1649 ($1949 - $300 trade in) on normal store vs $1599 ($1799 - $200 trade in) on edu store.

Both have the 250 evoucher for accessories.

Bonuscare code will more than likely invalidate your shopback cashback. Your cashback may have tracked now, but the code is not listed on the website - and from experience they won't pay it out.

      • Normal store have additional 10% payment value rewards points.

Samsung said the Education Store is excluded.

        https://www.samsung.com/au/rewards/

Are there any exclusions/exceptions for earning Samsung Rewards Points through purchasing at Samsung.com?

Samsung Rewards Points are only earned on eligible purchases made through the Samsung.com/au (excluding the Samsung Education Store, Samsung Business, Samsung Enhanced Partnership Portals and Samsung Government).

        • Yeah, you are right. Once you factor in cashback + reward points it is cheaper

        • Can I use the rewards points in the same transaction? Or for future purchases?

        • I got my 2000 (i.e. $20) Rewards Points (1% equivalent) on Samsung Education Store back in December. It took 1-2 weeks, perhaps after some cooling off period or something.

  • Hi Guys, I have only entered the trading in code and haven't decided if I need to place the S23 ultra order. The amount of trade in value of my current device has been charged on my credit card. If I am not going ahead with the purchase, will this charge be removed from my credit card? It's in pending status on my credit card. Thanks

    • +2

It will disappear eventually (a week in my experience)

    • +1

Its just a preauthorisation to ensure the card has sufficient funds and can be charged to. If you don't use the code the preauth will dissapear after about 5 days.

      • Thank you. So I assume that I can remove and add back without the issue. I don't believe that the charge of $650 will appear every single time if I remove and add back? For example, if I remove and add the code back twice, will Samsung put another $650 in pending again on my credit card?

        • Not sure what you mean, but how I interpret is that you want to use the trade in code again.

You can't use it again cause it's used, so you have to redo the trade up process and get charged with the fee again with a new code, so there will be another pending cost.

  • do I HAVE to use the $250 evoucher on accessories? Can it be just a straight 250 off the phone instead?

    • Only on the items it lets you select when you add the phone in
Theres earphones, cases, charge brinks, cables, "a" line phones, tablets,

    • nah its ontop of the phone

so you can select ear buds, watches, or tablets
needs to be added to the purchase then and there or you lose it :(

i rather have a $250 voucher for later use/or use it with anything too…
      need screen protector and case/charger…

According to this document, the education store should have the bonus storage upgrade too?

    https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/offe…

"b) The following Enhanced Partnership Portals are also participating in this promotion: Samsung’s Government Store
    (https://shop.samsung.com/au/multistore/auepp/government_au/l…) Samsung Business Store
    https://shop.samsung.com/au/business/login/business and Samsung Education Store
    (https://shop.samsung.com/au/multistore/auepp/samsung_educati…)."

    • But on the education store, the 512GB price is obviously higher than the 256GB model.

      • Thats his point the free data upgrade is not there for the edu or gov store

    • +1

just went on live chat and told them it's literally on their own T&C and this is all I get:

"Unfortunately, the Double Storage is only offered on our regular Online store."

"Yes, however, double storage is only offered on our regular online store."

"hese are the only promotions for our S23 Ultra at Education store.
Get your everyday discount valued up to $529.
And $250 instant eVoucher to expand your Galaxy Ecosystem.
      Plus, get a bonus $200 with trade-in2 and 50% off Samsung Care+.
      Offer ends 16 Feb 23. T&Cs apply. https://www.samsung.com/au/multistore/samsung_education_au/g…

      • +3

Withholding my order hoping that they might change it later.

Without the double storage the difference in discount from the Edu store is too little to make sense.

        • Sorry what I am missing here

Price through normal store is $1949 and you get 8% cashback which makes final price of $1793. Edu store give you same phone for $1799.

          • +1

@ShazOz: Normal store have extra $100 trade in bonus and 10x rewards point(worth $180), edu store cannot get rewards points.

            • @Stevendkl: Thanks makes sense now

            • @Stevendkl: edu store does get rewards/ My $1448 order had about 12500 oints.
