              • @abs898: Not sure why you can get rewards points, but I didn't get any rewards points for my S22 ULTRA order from the education store last year.

                https://www.samsung.com/au/rewards/

Are there any exclusions/exceptions for earning Samsung Rewards Points through purchasing at Samsung.com?

Samsung Rewards Points are only earned on eligible purchases made through the Samsung.com/au (excluding the Samsung Education Store, Samsung Business, Samsung Enhanced Partnership Portals and Samsung Government).

                • @Stevendkl: I ordered a vaccum via edu store and now I have rewards for those. I don't have rewards for s22u because I wasn't enrolled in the program back then

      • Interesting, you would think that the terms and conditions are a legally binding contract and that they have to honour them. I wonder who we can reach out to about this. I assume online customer service are just a bunch of underpaid script readers.

  • Yeah getting a 512gig for 1560 would be a good deal indeed
Still 200ish cheeper then the normal store or get the 256gig version for 1560ish (which i did in the end)

    • With 8% cashback on the normal store you can get the 512 for $1517.08

      $1949
      -$300 trade in

      =$1649

      -8% = $1517.08

      • Few points:
Technically, ineligible if you use BONUSCARE -> Last year, it was a lucky dip whether cashback was honoured or not.

The 8% closed yesterday (your post was justttt before midnight, so technically correct, but only for about 15 more minutes).

The 8% was capped at $100, not $132….

It is now 6%, but uncapped. 6% of $1,649 = $98.94. so, effectively no different to 8% cashback!

However, I presume, though, that cashback isn't on GST, so guessing that instead of cashback on $1,649, 6% cashback will actually be more like $90 today …. IF it tracks and IF it isn't rejected, like a number of people were last year.

        • Cashback was capped at $100 on cashrewards only.

          Shopback was uncapped at 8%

But you are right - it's not inclusive of GST. My cashback tracked at $127.25 on shopback

There's also 10% value back in rewards points from the normal store - but I'm not sure if it's also available on edu store.

So for the whole day yesterday that was the cheapest option, assuming you were willing to forgo free bonuscare (or take the risk).

They also had 25% off cases yesterday too

  • So you either get $250 e voucher for accessories or bonus $200 off for trade in. Not both, correct?

    • +1

      Both

    • +1

Both, I traded in a shattered s8 and also got $250 of accessories.
Purchased S23 Ultra 256gb with care+, 5 cases and a wireless charger for $1358.xx. IMO i believe it's an awesome deal if you have an old worthless broken phone laying around.

      • I chrcked my s7 can be traded in… last year it couldnt for my wifes s22…
So will try abd cancel my order to get the trade in credit of $5+200

  • Saw the phone today at JB. Have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed. I was interested in upgrading to the Ultra but the bulk with the pen puts me off, and the camera whilst nice didn't blow me away.

Think I'll hold on to my S20FE for a while longer and wait for a better deal.

  • If I add the bonuscare code, will Cash Rewards honour the cash back?

    • Better to check with them but BONUSCARE isn't listed on their website as a coupon.

    • There were people successful in the past but there is always a risk….so if you really dont bother with samsung care maybe just not use it.
If you think Bonuscare is needed, perhaps just treat cashback as something extra/luck rather than a promotion/discount.

    • I didn't take the risk. It's not listed on their site, so they can not honour it.

I preferred the cash rather than bonus care.

Also, cashrewards capped at $100 btw. Shopback isn't

  • So if i cancel my order how long does it take for a refund?

    • 3-5 days

  • Tradein bullcrap doesnt work tried twice gives me "authorisation failed. Please check that you have sufficient funds. Bruh it charged me $1 twice holding fee and still same error

    • +1

Are you adding the trad-in in the product page? Try add the phone to the cart without trade-in and then add the trade-in in your cart before checkout.

  • I had payment declined by my credit card at the last step and now that I am trying to place order again Samsung website is refusing to accept the same trade in ID saying it is already used. Anyone had similar issue ?

    • You will have to redo the ID. Clear data and cache of trade up app and do again

  • Has anyone traded in. I couldn’t get it work. It’s driving me crazy. I got the code from app but Samsung edu store gives error. I tried different codes from different devices. Tried different browsers. Still not working
Sorry due to an error trade up unavailable

    • Yeah same error

    • Add the trade-in code at the checkout, not while on the phone page

  • +1

    How does this deal compare
Bonus Samsung Galaxy Watch5 (up to $649 Value) w/ Galaxy S23 Series (from $1349 Outright or $37.47/Month) @ Telstra
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/754576

    • This deal is better than Telstra

    • I was thinking TGG deal is better than this one? especially if you need a phone plan.

  • -1

I am surprised there is no trade-in bonus this time round.

    • there is

      $300 on normal store
      $200 on edu store

  • Does trade-in, $50 sign up voucher affect shopback cashback ?

    • I didn't even consider this when I ordered. Did the $50 sign up and BONUSCARE… Would be annoying if it didn't get approved.

  • if i have a s8plus. do i get $10 or do i get $200 credit towards the s23plus?

    • you get $10 for the phone if you send it in + $150 bonus if on education store. If you don't send it in you will get charged the value of the trade in + $60 admin fee.

$200 bonus is only for ultra

  • anyone see a good deal on s22 ultra? i want a new phone…but this s23 has barely any upgrades…not to mention the downgrades when it comes to front camera and battery…plus more rubbish (recycled) material

  • 60 year old student allowed?

    • +1

      Teachers get edu email accounts
Or you could use the government portal as it has the same promo

  • The 8% cashback was only for one day? I can only see 5% in Shopback..

    • Yes, it ended at 1159PM last night.

      • Thanks

    • -1

On Cashrewards, was 8% yesterday, but capped at $100.

Cashrewards is now 6%, uncapped. Very similar numbers!

      Eg, ($1,800 - 10% GST) *0.06 = $98.18 —-> Compared to $100 yesterday.

Again though, technically, the free SamsungCare coupon technically invalidates cashback, and its a lucky dip if it'll get rejected or not.

      • But waiting for some real reviews to drop..didn't have the heart to do it yesterday after hearing about screen flicker and shutter lag :)

  • I see some stores offering this "double storage offer", how does it work particularly if I ordered the 1TB model?

    • +3

simple, order 1tb model, but pay only the price for 512mb model :)

      • Ahha, I am stupid. Thanks for that.

  • Hai if i do trade in with galaxy bud. Can i do got 300$ discount ? Anyone help please. Have try but not work.

    • $300 is on the main website, not the education store. Did you install the Trade up app?

      • Yes i do . On galaxy bud. But they reject if i put on phone. Try put on acc but no show 300 at total.price.

  • Do the trade in mob still try to take the whole amount of the trade on a pre auth? Last time i did this they held hundreds for 2 weeks and my trade in that I didn't use is almost 1k this time if i wanted to..its a lot of money to give to these idiots on hold

    • yes they do. if you're not planning on trading it in, make the trade in value as low as possible.

If you say yes to cracks/dents/scratches it should heavily drop the trade in value, as it will consider the phone damaged but still let you trade it.

edit: Reread your comment. I think you only get charged the preauth when you enter the tradein code at checkout.

      • Last time they took it on the app just before i got the code. Not going to risk it..I cant reduce the trade on as its an almost new phone but thanks

        • I don't recall having to enter my bank details on the app this time round. Just drivers licence..

        • If you dont want their pre-auth, the only way is to trade-in in a Samsung Store. They will be able to take the phone away immediately. But I am not sure how pre-order works as I have never done that during pre-order period.

          • @seanyong: I have decided to go with JB.. 20% more trade in, no $1000 hold, $250 gift card not just for stupid accesories. I do not trust the trade in company with my money basedf on past history

  • I noticed on the Samsung Trade In website that you not only get a Trade-In Bonus, but also a Promotional Offer? That is, if you're looking to buy a Galaxy S23 Ultra (12GB + 512GB) in Black -
    - Trade-In Value - $50 (Trading up a S9+)
    - Trade-In Bonus - $300
    - Promotional Offer - $300

Total Trade In Value - $650. Is this right? Is anyone able to confirm this?

I had messaged Samsung chat and they confirmed the Promotional Offer is in addition to the Trade-In Bonus, but this sounds too good to be true - alongside $250 Instant eVoucher, Double Storage value and bonus Samsung Care. I was also told the Promotional Offer is only available on the normal website, not education/partnership ones.

If my maths is correct, if I buy the Galaxy S23 Ultra (12GB + 512GB) with RRP $2,249, my discounts are -
    - Double Storage discount (from 256GB) - $300
    - Instant eVoucher - $250
    - Total Trade In Value - $650
    - Samsung Care - I've valued this as $0.

    Total Discount - $1,200

Final Cost of Galaxy S23 Ultra - $1,049

Hoping someone is able to confirm this :)

    • +1

The evoucher is on other stuff not the phone
So no it eould be total $1299

      • oh yep, I just considered the eVoucher as the value you get for things you don't necessarily need, hence applying it to the phone. You're right though, it's not discount on the phone!

    • I was not able to see this additional $300 last night. Can you check by adding to cart yourself ?

    • seems incorrect. here is what it is when you actually add to cart

      Galaxy S23 Ultra (12GB + 512GB) with RRP $2,249
      - Double Storage discount (from 256GB) - $300
      - Trade In Value - $50 (for your S9+)
      - Trade in Bonus - 300
      - Samsung Care - $0.
Final Cost of Galaxy S23 Ultra (12GB + 512GB) - 1599 (which is as stated on the trade up website) + 250 evoucher to spend on accessories

      • oh thanks for this! Looks like from Green Man's reply below, the $300 is reflective of the Doubler Storage offer.

    • +1

I believe that the Promotional Offer is in relation to the free double storage offer which is essentially a discount. Not extra on top of the trade in bonus. Notice that the smaller storages have no Promotional Offer.

      • ohh right!! That a lot more sense!

    • I think that promotional offer indicated on the trade-up page is referring to the double storage offer to reduce the price to the lower tier storage version.

  • Is the trade in system working? I keep getting errors (despite a valid trade in ID from the app). Same on multiple browsers and devices, on both the normal Samsung site and education site

    • +2

It is broken. Getting “Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment” at checkout

      • +1

Samsung trade in still not working on the Samsung.com.au and EDU sites. Livechat x2, emails to [email protected] with zero progress. Completely hopeless

    • This may help. I thought one of my characters was a 1 but it was an i, it worked then. try that

    • Use trade in at checkout not while selecting the phone storage and other options

  • Now for trade up if my screen protector for s21 is cracked
Should I remove my screen protector before sending or keep it

S21 has a screen protector installed in box

    • +1

The S21 preinstalled protector was just a soft plastic cover, which shouldn't crack (just scuff up). Be sure to take it off to make sure the actual screen isn't cracked.

    • +1

I always take off the protectors and thoroughly clean the screen before sending in the phone.
Sometimes there will be dirt residuals around the edge of the screen protector and a dodgy trade-in company might take that as an evidence to reduce your trade-in value - even though they can be simply wiped away.

  • just ordered. after cashback it'll be a shade over 2k for the 1tb with the care thing too

    • +2

Wouldn't count on cashback going through if you used a promo code not listed on their website.

  • What accessories people getting? I am looking at s23 so only $100 e voucher. Looking at leather case and screen protector or 2 silicon cases.

    • +1

I got 2 charge bricks, leather case, the flip case and 2 scrren protectors. It put me like $3 over the 250

You can incrase the amount of an item in the checkout

    • +1

Probably ear buds - probably use the public website and get 10x rewards ( in two weeks), then use those $180 to buy either the new powerbank or a case and fast chargers and usb c cables.

      • May do opposite. Case protector etc. Then pounts towards buds etc

        • Buds are 30% off til 16th February, I think - so just be careful!

      • Are the points calculated after all the discounts go in?.
I reckon my order is around, 1000$ for my S23U with buds.
. So it'd be about 1000 points equal to 100$ of credit :/

  • To anyone that ordered yesterday from the Samsung website, at checkout was there an option to select Store Pickup?

At the time, I don't recall seeing that option or I wasn't paying attention.

I tried live chat, but they said it couldn't be changed to store pickup.

    • Nah didn't get it

    • Their store pickup is just they would send the parcel to the store, it’s not like you can immediately pickup one if there is stock in store.

  • +1

Someone help! I am so confused. I have access to the various EPP portals.

    From TGG Deal
    $69 Plan over 12 months = $828
$2,249 for the 500GB S23 Ultra (which will be upgraded to the 1tb) minus the $750 voucher for signing up to the phone plan = $1,499
    $250 GC

    So $828+$1499 = $2,327 - $250 GC = $2,077 total cost inc phone plan for 12 months.

    Vs this deal:

$2,119.50 (1TB Variant as no double up offer)
    + $399 (Discounted using the e-voucher) Galaxy Watch5 Pro Bluetooth + 4G (45mm)
Total : $2,518.20 including Samsung Care

Vs buying from actual Samsung (no epp)
$1,949 (512GB Variant which will be upgraded to 1TB Variant - double up offer)
    + $399 (Discounted using the e-voucher) Galaxy Watch5 Pro Bluetooth + 4G (45mm)
Total : $2,348.00 including Samsung Care

Am i missing something here? Would TGG deal be better if needed a plan as well? Seems like in my use-case the actual Samsung store works out better and then even better on top of that if i have a trade-in?

  • +3

Was chatting with Samsung just then I asked why the education store has no double storage offer and they replied:

"I'm just wondering if the education store has the double storage offer on the s23 ultra?"

"It should yes, however, it is in the process of getting fixed. Kindly try on your end if it is working and let me get you details please so I can take note of this matter and escalate this on our end."

    • I believe there is some confusion regarding what the whole "double storage"

on the education store, 512GB is $1,799.20
on jb website, it's $1949. there is even a note on it to say that price after 16th Feb will go up to $2249.

these are pre-order prices but I believe once the phone gets released then 512GB will then go up to the price of 1TB

      • based on Samsung's logic. You get the 512g for the price of 256g, and the 1TB for the price of 256g. That's why on the public site the price for 256g and 512g is the same. However, the price in the education stores between 256g and 512g is different, breaking their double storage offer logic. For any consumer electronics, the price will only go down from this point on, even if their prices go back to the so-called "RRP", Samsung will have other bonuses to offset these. Essentially ALL marketing gimmicks that trying to lure people to pay early.

    • Not sure it's in error. Normal store Ultra 512 is $1949, edu store is $1799. If they do 'fix' it and the 512 edu is same as 256 then I'm in, otherwise I will be looking at other phones. Sigh at the turkeys and no memory card.

      • They told me they are 'fixing' it, not sure how but let's see. As of now, education pricing is not appealing at all.

        • +4

They fixed it by removing any mentions of double storage from the edu website now.

        • Your comment gave me hope but apparently they have removed all text about double storage now from edu website lol

  • +1

On the edu page, there is no longer any mention of the double storage. Yesterday was there but has not disappeared

    • One way to "fix" it

    • Bad bad bad bad bad

      • Doesn't sound like something that MKBHD says.

  • Shipping starts 6th February? When can I expect the device? My parents are leaving Australia on 14th Feb morning. It's a gift for them

    • If they ship on 6th, usually it's an overnight from Sydney, tops 2 days
