We are starting a weekend only special on the UX21 i3 Zenbook. We have taken down the bonus Office offer and replaced it with a bonus 64GB USB 3 flash drive. AND we have dropped the price from $699 down to $538. Limited Stock available. We know you love the flash drives, but we wanted to see if we could offer something a little more substantial, plus a flash drive ;)

If you have any issues please email us at [email protected].

Update 1: This is the drive http://flingshot.com.au/collections/storage-usb-storage/prod…

Update 2: We have also dropped the price on the ux31 i7, down to $1488, no bonus USB 3 with that one though. http://flingshot.com.au/products/computers-ultrabooks-asus-u…

Update 3: UX21 is now sold out. So we will now be throwing in the 64GB USB 3 with the UX31, until they sell out.

Update 4: Just dropped the price of the UX31. $1348 shipped for just the machine itself.

Make it $475 (incl shipping) without the USB drive and we have a deal.

    • We will give it a little more time, as we don't have a ton of stock. If everyone wants a standalone price we will bring it down a little.

edit: One gone already… Keep in mind it only has a 64GB SSD so that USB 3 drive will definitely come in handy.

I would also buy at this price! My fingers are crossed

    • same here

      • The 64Gb usb is so ugly… Can I swap it for $40 cash? or swap it for a 64Gb Class 10 SD card?

        • we have sold out of the UX21 now. Were you looking at that or the UX31?

I am currently writing this from my ASUS UX31 Zenbook. It has not been turned off or put back to sleep for at least 2 weeks, because every 2-3 times I do it, it will start with a blank screen and freeze. Then it takes a whole battery drain to get it back to work! This is a very common fault with Zenbooks (UX21 or UX31), beware when buying!!!

    • That's why I gave up any hope on Asus laptops after my last Asus screwed up. They have serious reliability issues.

  • realised
    thanks man

Slightly related, do you have plans to stock the Samsung series 9 13.3"?

    • Can you give us the actual model number you are looking for? And a target price you would like to see?

      • +1

        900X3C under $1k.

        • i think cheapest was $1100 @ HN after the 500 cash back before! waiting for some one else to beat that.

        • I thought it was $988 although some got it even cheaper.

        • Unfortunately if you are using those after cashback prices as your benchmark you might be waiting for a while… It will get there eventually but right now it is just not possible.

        • I don't know if you are only after a brand new.
          I've just accidentally found it.

        • Yeah, see that's an older model (900X3A) and it doesn't have ivy bridge or the higher resolution.
It's easy to make a mistake and some retailers don't even mention the product code.

Do you sell Australian stock or grey stock on your site?

    • to the REP, is this with 2 years warranty?

      • Yeah, this comes with full Asus warranty.

        • which does not answer the question. 2 years, or a year?

        • AU should be just 1 year, but you are eligible for the $15 windows 8… and most import are not low end i3 like this one… hmmm

        • which is 1 or 2 years? I work at an Asus dealer and don't know the answer to this.

        • Sorry for the confusion, it is 1 year. Should have made that more clear.

    • Some stuff is imported some is AU stock, it is listed on each category page, or item page if the actual items are a mix.

  • I'm waiting for a good price for the HP Folio 13", anyone?

    • What would be a good price?

      • Under $600 would be excellent

        • For import stock that might be possible, but not for Australian stock at the moment.

        • +2

we want something that is portable(13" or lower)
cheap & powerful(with proper graphic card & screen)

        • Import stock is fine, al long as its a good deal. Hp have international warranty.
          Thanks

If this was the current model I'd be all over it. The old one is less impressive.

  • This one only has 1 usb port?

    • I'm pretty sure there are 2 USB 3.0 ports - one on each side of the computer

      • It's actually 1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0

  • Rep, what's the warranty on this?

    • This is Australian stock, comes with full Asus warranty.

      • +2

AU stock is actually worse than import, cos some imported one has got 2 years international warranty depends on which country are they from…. just my 2 cents

  • What SSD are installed on these units?

    • From various teardowns they appear to be msata drives manufactured by Adata. Though there have been reports of other drives from other manufacturers. Without physically opening the machine or checking the BIOS you can't really tell.

      • Just wondering. They should have a sticker on the black box, indicating Sandisk/ADATA, but would require opening the shipping packaging. Most of the ones from HN were Sandisk.

  • it becomes coming soon now, sold out? how can I check out and use my company name but use my personal paypal account? no such option?

    • Yeah sorry it is sold out. We still have the UX31 though.

      • this deal seems good for me, sadly it sold out so fast.
Am looking for some nice laptop below 600AUD too.

hope flingshot comes out with more deals of these nice ultrabooks, or even the U36 series.

ok guys i went to jb hifi today with my wifey to buy a laptop. having seen this deal in the morning slipped away on OZB i ignored the same laptop at jb first. the list price on this one was $879, I asked the sales guy if he could do better he said he could do 800 for it. i thought, i shouldn't have missed the deal here. went and check Hardly normal and good guys near by, their price were no where near 800. so went back to JB and started tossing between this model and macbook air 11" 64 gb version which was kind of comparable and after 10% off it was 976 and no further discount further than that. for that sort of difference i thought apple is more value for money but if i could get the ASUS one for 538 as listed here then it kind of justifies the price. anyways my wife liked the ASUS more, damn thing is pretty, i asked the sales guy if he could do better and showed him the post on OZB. he said he couldnt match the web price but he could do $658 as a final price. i didnt try to haggle much from there but we were still thinking about it and also asked about the concern from Ozyack above, the sales guy wasnt sure about it. but he thought that we were really interested in this one so he threw in a 500 gig usb 3 hdd for us that sweeten the deal a lot more. the hdd itself was 119 but currently on sale for 69 anyways we got the laptop for 579 and hdd for 69 all add up 658, we bought the package. do you guys think we got a good deal? cheers

        • You're forgetting that these guys (flingshot) are including a 64gb USB as well.
But you are getting better warranty. As long as you're happy, don't dwell too much on it.

        • Personally I think you got a great deal.

        • I think you got one heck of a good deal.

  • @ Flingshot

Will you be getting more UX21 in stock? I missed out (I'm sure several others did as well) and would like to get one!

    • +2

Working on it. Will know on Monday hopefully. We will update the thread once we know.

      • Ill get one if you do

        • me too

        • I keep checking the website in hope that its back in stock :) I want a UX21. not unless Flingshot wants to put the TF300T up on special ;)

        • +1 for a TF300T deal with keyboard dock…..

      • good afternoon, any news of more UX21 to come?

        thank you!

  • +1

Will you consider another ultrabook deal for around $500? I refer 13.3 inch screens though

  • Just wondering for those that order from you, when's the ETA on delivery as I can't find it on your website?

  • It depends on the item, but for larger items they are couriered the day after purchase. Coming from Sydney to most metro areas will be 2-3 days max. Probably a good idea for us to add that to the site, thanks for the heads up.

    • Fantastic. So for those that bought the offer above (UX21 Zenbook), we should expect to receive it this week?

      • +1

        Definitely.

  • How about the UX31E? Looking at $1000. The best I can find at the moment is $1150.

    • ah, I mean the i5 version too. :(

  • Confused since the website doesnt seem to work for me.

Is this the old model? I'm looking for the i5 with 1920*1080 IPS screen. Anything happening in that department?

Do you have a credit card surcharge, because I get extra warranty if I use my credit card.

    Cheers

    • We just use Paypal, but you can use your credit card through them.

Still waiting on pricing for the new models.

  • What prices will you be doing the new Asus Ultrabooks for?

    • We don't have pricing yet unfortunately. Will update the site as soon as we do.

UX32VD-DB71 hope to see this @ a competitive price..
