  • Will HN provide tax invoice for the S23? Because i will be going to Thailand soon and would like to claim TRS.

    • Will there be gst to be refunded on the full amount or only the amount you actually paid? As if you did not actually pay anything for the phone but it was icluded in the plan then there woukd be no payment to refund as customs need to see how you paid for the item and then refund that way. I suppose optus give you a receipt for the phone which was paid with a gift card? That's how jb hifi works.

      • Thank you for the quick reply.

    • I can tell you my experience when I bought similar plan with Pixel 7 pro from HN before. My receipt showed Pixel7 pro as a gift from the plan with $0 value. Your phone IMEI will also be attached to your plan, so you won't be able to swap to anything(swap different devices, storage, or even color) once your plan is activated and you received your phone. I tried to swap to different colour when the phone is still sealed but they can't do it because of that reason. At the time there's no additional upfront fee for Pixel7pro hence its valued at $0, but with $599 upfront cost you might still get some of the TRS back.

      • Thanks you for the inform

  • Hey I am existing customer, 24 month plan expiring early May 2023, but want to get this deal. Is only option to port out my number & cancel plan? If so what is fastest way to get another sim to port into?

    • +1

If you're going to cancel, get a new number and put your old SIM in the new phone after you cancel.

      • +1

I don't follow sorry. How do I get a new number? I need to keep my existing number for work

        • +2

When you’re signing up, tell the HN sales person that I would like a new number. This will also come with a new Account Number. If you’re with Optus already, your profile should show both your old and new accounts as separate

I’m speaking from experience when I signed up to the S22 plan previously

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Ok thanks, but I need to keep my existing number, can I do that using this method?

            • +1

@cathalm8: Yeh, cancel the new plan with the new number and just insert your old SIM in

              • @BargainsGrabber: Ah, But I want to keep the new plan as well. My work pays for the monthly fee so I actually want to keep the plan.

                • @cathalm8: I’m not too sure if Optus does the same like how Boost did for me. I got a new number for my yearly plan and Boost transferred my old number across

                  • @BargainsGrabber: Yeah it works if you port in a number from a different provider but not if you are an existing customer. That's what i am wondering how to get around.

                    • +1

@cathalm8: Mine was Boost to Boost :)

Hopefully Optus is the same and good luck!

                      • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks. Ill go into HN and see if I can.

                        • +1

@cathalm8: Could you let me know how you go?
I want to do the exact same thing

                          • @treeherring: Have to port out and then port back in when signing up to deal. Porting out is relatively easy. Get a pre paid sim and follow instructions on sim packaging.

                    • @cathalm8: Try live chat optus and ask. Boost to boost is fine. But last time , the agent tell me no more next time. Not sure about my next time. I do 1year plan but usually finish before 1year

  • How long it take to cancle it ? Do i call optus or harvey norman to cancle it ?

    • You’d call Optus to cancel the plan. I hopped onto the S22 deal last time and I called Optus immediately when I went home
They did ask the why are you cancelling your plan qu

    • +1

Simply buy a $2 Belong, Telstra or Vodafone SIM and port out and your contract will be cancelled. You don’t need to contact Optus to cancel. This can be done as soon as you step out of HN

      • Got it big thankss. This plan sounds good

      • What is the quickest way to get one of those sims? Go into a physical store and ask?

        • +1

You can buy these at any Woolies, Coles, Aldi or grocery stores.

          • +1

@usmanhafeez2000: can you provide dumbed down instructions for me? so like buy any $2 sim card and how do i port out the number, will i have to sign up again somewhere (like vodafone, woolies etc.)

  • So is the gift card included if I take out the phone on a $69 / 12 month plan? os is that only for outright?
and can I use HN gift cards to pay the initial $599 on the phone?

    • +1

      69 plan is over 24mths

No gift card essentially it gets you $1349 off the current advertised prices (excluding gift card)

      • Yes got that but i gave a $599 co payment for the s23 ultra 512gb. Can that $599 be paid partially with a Harvey Norman gift card?

  • Can I use $250 gift card to pay for the upfront $599 for ultra ?

    • No gift card with this deal as per above comments, only with outright purchases.

    • No offset allow, but you can use to buy accessories etc from HN

  • Would terminating ruin credit history/score or should be fine since paying half the contract out? is it a 1 off type thing or you can do it each time a new samsung phone comes out depending on the deal?

    • Yeah I want to know too!

    • +3

No impact on credit record - nothing showed up on my Optus-provided Equifax report.

I see no reason why you can't do this repeatedly, but we're still happy with the S22s.

I think some deals offering trade in bonuses might be better if you are regularly upgrading.

      • Will definitely give it a go then surprised they haven't caught on plan on selling the iphone and swapping over maybe upgrade every 2-3year

      • I did early termination of JB Hifi/Telstra plans a couple of times, and was later rejected for similar deal 3rd time. Had to wait for 6 months to get any post paid service again. Just flagging that for other’s benefit.
Of course it doesn’t show up on your credit history but does get recorded somewhere in Telco’s system.

  • Do you get a tax invoice for the full price of the phone or not? Thanks!

    • Last October it was the upfront price on the receipt

    • No the price on the receipt is $599

  • Is it just me, or did they change the terms to new service only? (I thought you could port in previously)

  • I'm assuming that if the Optus plan is kept for 12 months then cancellation is free after that point?

    • +1

No, I think you are charged half the remaining contract period, so still 12 * $69 / 2, so $420.

  • Anyone know if I could port out of optus today to another provider and get this deal?
Seems a way better deal than the telstra good guys one (I'm fine with optus)

    • But the phone will be ready for 17feb ?

      • Yes,
What i mean is there a cycle time limit that they check you've last been on optus or just check current service?

      • I want the new service on my current number.

        • I'm Currently an optus customer also, Out of contract. I called harvey norman and the sales person advised you dont need to port out of optus, just change from post paid to prepaid then you will be able to get the deal. Im not sure though it seems like a wierd loop hole. Maybe call your local store and check, but if feasible could be a option.

  • With the Title as Pre-order, do you get the phone when you sign up in store, or get the phone at a later date after signing up?

    • You get the phone when released, not when signing up.

  • Does Optus have a $10 off per month option on live chat like Telstra.

  • Anyone had issues porting out of Optus and back in? Went to buy a Vodafone some but it tried to make me recharge straight away. Then went and bought a $2 Telstra Sim, but Telstra won't let me port back in to Optus? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to port back in?

    • Yes it's $299, it's in the terms and conditions. ($1649-$1350 discount)

      harveynorman.com.au/optus-byo

  • Anyone been in to do the deal for the S23+ yet?
Not advertised but many saying $299 on the $69 Plan

    • +1

$300 upfront then $828+69 for first month when terminating contract

  • If I sign up to a Felix plan on a new number can I sign up to this despite me being an optus customer on my main mobile number?

  • I wish i could port out of Optus and then Port. Wait period is 3 months….Can't take advantage of this deal.

    • Where is this confirmed? I have ported out this week from optus and will be porting back in on Monday hoepfully. I discussed this HN sales person who advised this was the way to go. lets ee or else ill be crawling back to optus on my current plan which hasnt yet expired. lol

  • Does anyone know when will the handsets be available for pick up if you sign up this deal? Considering that Samsung is already shipping the orders placed via their online stores.

    • The store said I will be able to picked it up 17/02.

Today I got a txt from HN saying that my back order item is in stock and ready to pick up.
I called the store the guy at computer department said yes it is here.
Then I asked him whether he was sure I can pick it up as the release date is. He came back after 5 minutes and said that I could not pick it up until 17 Feb!
They apologized for the automatic system.

So the product arrived in store but we just cannot pick it up yet until after the release date.

      • You should simply go and collect it based on the SMS you received. A lot of people who ordered their phones via Samsung online store already received their phones, so its bot a hard rule that you can only pick it up on 17th.

      • +1

i've got a call from HN today saying its available for pick up too. It should be fine as others could/would have received their phones already elsewhere

  • This looks like by far the best deal for a base model Galaxy S23 256gb.

But it's in-store only? I'm overseas currently, flying back to SYD on the 16th… landing at 7pm… desperately trying to calculate if I can make it to a HN store before they close :crying:

    • Train to Central, light rail to ES Marks in 25 minutes followed by some fast walking and you might have a chance before 9pm close

      • Isn't there a store at the airport?

        • I haven't found any at the airport. There is one at Moore Park open until 9pm on the 16th.

So I am thinking I'll beeline straight there from the airport. I hope they'll be ok to process the deal for me so late… And hopefully they'll have the devices in stock to pick up on the spot.

          • @phonehome: How'd you go? If you were on QR908 I think you were in luck.

            • +1

@Techie4066: I made it there by 7:30pm! Customs and immigration was such a breeze this time.

Got the phone too, cancelling the service today.

    • Picked one after work today, staff said they were extending the offer for one more day

  • Churned both myself and the wife today. Apparently stock coming in later on this week.

Sales person was adamant that the gift card is included and could be collected alongside the phone when they turn up. Nothing on the receipt about the gift card though.

Will update if I do get the gift cards.

  • +1

Just signed up for S23+ 512GB at HN McGraths Hill in Sydney. Just took 5 minutes:
    - Price $1,649 minus $1,349 paid $300
    - Sales person told me it includes $150 GC, that can only be collected with phone pick up.
    - invoice shows $300

Need to wait and see if GC will be included when I go to pick up the phone.

    • Good work…..I signed up and they did not mention about any gift card. Also think they may have duped me into the 256gb version and didn't do the storage upgrade on the s23+. Waiting for the call to pick up.

      • For me they processed the order for S23+ 512GB which costs the same $1649 as 256GB on HN website. So better go back and clarify.

    • hello. out of interest, why + rather than say ultra?

      • +1

Would go either but for me its the Flat screen, also not a big camera user, slightly smaller form which suits me more, cheaper, battery life.

        • Which phone will have the better battery life? I dont think we know the answer to this yet?

      • +1

Flat display and good size for day to day use. Also I hardly used S Pen in past when I bought Note series phones, so for me S23+ works better.

      • I was contemplating between S23+ and Ultra. After reading and watching some reviews, I think the strongest point for S23+ is just the size, which probably best size for most people. However if we're talking about value for dollar spent, I think S23 or S23 ultra has better value.

S23 has everything that S23+ have except smaller screen and smaller storage(256gb vs 512gb) for $300 less

        OR

S23 ultra offer a lot more than S23+ like better camera, S pen, better display(1440p vs 1080p), and larger memory ram(12gb vs 8gb) for $300 more.

    • The Gift card is only for outright purchases, not with the optus deal.

      • I didn’t ask for it at all, but the sales rep himself told me that it includes $150 gift card that will be given with the phone.

  • Is the 1tb ultra available on this deal? If so, what is the cost?
Trying to work out of this deal is worth it for me, considering Samsung are now accepting my Galaxy s7 trade in for $300 bonus value plus $1.

    • What ever the 512gb ultra costs is what you'll pay for the 1tb.

      • Less $1349 :)

      • So is the $599 the price for 512gb or 1tb? I wondered if it has the free memory upgrade already included or not

        • +3

Read the post and comments before directly asking the questions which have already answered in the post or comments. The offer does include the free memory upgrade. You pay for 512GB and HN rep should order the 1TB, of course less $1,349.

          • @usmanhafeez2000: I did read all comments over and over actually… But didn't understand it and required clarification.

            • @kimba88: All good. Hope you got all the clarifications you needed. Happy to help.

  • +1

Thought my experience may help. Signed up the 24 mths * $69 Optus plan w/ S23 256GB on Monday 6th Feb $0 upfront, then got a message says the phone was ready for collect on Tuesday afternoon 7th Feb. Went to store after work and got my new phone back. lol. Then contacted Optus to cancel the plan after back home.

Now, waiting for the $800 termination bill, as the sales mentioned it would be billed next billing cycle. lol.

    • Lol, I thought the s23s haven’t released yet

      • thought i would wait until 16th Feb, the HN sales also mentioned they would get stock until 16th Feb… BUT seems they got stock early. lol

        • Which store?

        • No luck at my local store. They said they had to adhere to the release date

          • @BargainsGrabber: Early release is 100% on NOW get them to speak to their franchisee

            • @farque: They spoke to the manager. I called Fsychwick store around 5pm today

              • @BargainsGrabber: Well….. they're wrong… Ive handed out 15 so far.

                • @farque: Allg and thanks for letting us know! I’ll try again this weekend if they don’t give it out haha
