ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XT Graphics Card $1419 + Delivery ($0 NSW C&C) @ Mwave

160

Stumbled across this while performing the daily GPU bargain hunting ritual…
Rivals the previous deal end of Dec 2022 with delivery, or cheaper with C&C: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/748208

Still not a great price, but it's there if you are really after one

    From the words of Kazusa

Good deal? very XT, Not XTX though, XTX extra X when?

Still just (about $10) over the US launch price for the XT, even with GST taken off, but a lot closer to US + GST than the launch prices. Just one more price drop away from an actual discount!

    • Any ideas on when the next potential price drop might be? In a bit over a month, this XT has only been discounted to basically it's previous low

      • Not a clue! The GPU market is all sorts of weird at the moment, the new generation from both manufacturers is massively expensive, but if/when we'll see any serious price cuts … who knows?

        • Yea, it's very hard to say. Guess we just have to continue voting with our wallets by being patient and not buying new cards atm. I can't believe some vendors are still charging 7900 XTX prices for the remaining new 69xx cards….

I've been considering used 6800 XT and 6900 XT for a while, as prices have dropped to around $800 and $1k respectively (Could negotiate some lower), but the extra horsepower for 3x1440p in sims and VR (Reverb G2) with the 7000 series could be handy. It's all about pricing…

          • @TheBargainDog: 6800 XT / 6900 XT in stores and brand new? Or ebay and second hand?

@Sihorrih: eBay, but also locally on FB Marketplace, which I'm finding has the best deals atm.

  • Best looking GPUs on the market! (Not that that matters, but still)

Also thermally performing the worst in some cards. Hotspots reaching highest possible temperature. Hopefully they fix their cards as they do look really nice but this issue deters me away.

    I can't believe I bought a 3070ti for this price during covid.

    • If you were mining on it, you'd probably have recouped a decent chunk of the cost….and didn't buy towards the end.

    edit: Radeon 7800XT …

4070ti is better buy compared to this for similiar performance, better driver, lower price, DLSS, RT, Cuda etc.

I'm intrigued to know why people are downvoting. Is the 7900xt a better card for $100 more?

  • I have a GTX 1080 TI that's not keeping up with my 4k screen and video games (COD MW2, Baldur's Gate 3, Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2 etc), reckon this be a decent upgrade?

    • +1

Would be a massive upgrade, probably looking at 1.5-2.5x the fps at 4k plus the VRAM to boot which will massively help with 1% lows and stability. I have a mate in the same boat except with a standard 1080.
It is still overpriced though, so you'd find better value on the used market for previous gen cards…

      • Thanks for your advice mate, appreciate it.

  • How are AIBs allowed to use the reference card + the reference cooler and say it's their card? What am I missing here

    • I honestly don't know what's going on either. I thought perhaps there was no image for the aibs to upload so they used amds one but it's been a while and it's still that image.

  • This or the 4070ti?

    • Neither are great value atm, but the 7900 XT would probably be the better buy, especially with the extra 8gb of VRAM.

    Need an 7900 xtx deal!!
