      • How so? This can do 120hz too?

        Also I meant the VA.

        • Oled is way better then VA , miles better

          • @botchie: I know that, but I'm not paying 2.5k on an oled monitor.
I also have the AW3421DW anyways and it's awesome.

            • @thousandsuns: Then what's the q? :) Dell oled is 1.5k , G7 is expansive but it's VA panel from what I can tell

              • @botchie: The G8 has an OLED variant, which is yet to release in Australia. The comparison I'm making here is this Dell vs. the Neo G8. Obviously, a VA panel will provide a better contrast ratio, so for HDR gaming, it is pretty much necessary to get the Neo G8 (for the best ps5/xbox monitor out there according to RTINGS).

  • How does it work with Macbook Pro M2?

    • +2

If not gaming, then 4k 60hz is enough, 144hz is overkill

  • Any similar deal for a USB-C monitor? Wanting to use it for my Mac M1

  • +1

Does anyone know why this 4k dell didn't feature in HW Unboxed top monitor list for 2022?

Didn't even get an honourable mention. https://youtu.be/WFfxOfZ8T_U?t=554

    • +1

Pretty sure they buy items to review. Perhaps they’ve not purchased it as of yet but I reckon they will after this deal!

      • +2

I know dell stock been a bit average. They do get sent a lot of review samples but possibly just couldn't get a hold of one like you say. Doesn't seem like any other explanation.

  • i would just keep waiting, feel like this year gonna be decent tech leap for display/monitors based on CES2023.
OLED, mini-LED is gonna be the new standard. still be pricy, but hopefully make all this not as new stuff even cheaper.

    • Not much new stuff coming to Oz anytime soon , and not cheap , mini led still not as good as oled, it's hard to see anything better then alienware oled tbh , maybe a bit brighter , 240hz but you cant see that anyway

      • MiniLED aren't just a bit brighter, they're a lot brighter, especially at full-screen. Working with productivity, the ABL can get pretty annoying with OLEDs as the brightness keeps fluctuating as you resize windows or bring dark mode windows to the foreground.

  • Thanks! Managed to stack that code with another employee code. Awesome!

    • +3

Care to share what the code is ? :)

      • +1 still cant jump on QD-OLED yet..

  • Not sure if it will be valid, but Amex (targeted I believe) has 10% cash back on Dell purchases.

Had one 6 months, hard to fault

    • Nice monitor for sure; just wish the USB ports are at the back not at the left bottom which is awkward and not great aesthetics. As a result of this, there are no slots for the Dell sound bar that I had from previous monitors.

  • Currently have a AW3821DW.

I want to go back to a triple monitor setup. Would people recommend this monitor in a triple 32” setup?

Or would a triple 27” setup be recommended. If so, which monitor would people recommend?

    • +2

Triple 32 is huge. It's hard to give advice without knowing what you're using it for or how much desk space you have or budget. I know some people need triple monitors for work to monitor real time graphs for stocks etc. Personally, I've never been able to concentrate on more than one screen at a time,so having a dual monitor setup has always been plenty. You should just start with 2 of these and then add a third if you need it. Fwiw, I saw this monitor in a triple setup on YouTube. It's not a long video, but will show you how it looks at least.

  • Thanks OP! Purchased been waiting for a good deal on these :)

  • +3

Thanks you for the post OP! Got the AW3423DWF for $1531.81. For those having issues with the K-12 Student Discount, I tried about 10 or so emails from the email generator before it worked.

Just ordered one also! Decent price :) will be a massive upgrade from my Kogan monitor lol

  • Are there any issues with G-sync? apparently it doesn't have g-sync and has issues in various situations

  • Got an update from Dell today, monitor is arriving tomorrow.

  • +1

Got the monitor today, it's amazing. Still need to play around with it. But amazing colour, brightness and motion.

  • Anyone elses me G3223Q dead on arrival?
    Just a nice black screen.

    Replacement on the way.
The box didnt give me the impression that it was new stock.

    • +1

That really sucks. Sorry to hear that. Hope the replacement comes quickly. My box was sealed and everything inside seemed new. The monitor wasn't picking up on my laptops DP connection for some reason. I unplugged and plugged back in and seems to be fine. Haven't had heaps of time to test everything.

Edit: I also updated to latest monitor firmware MT03. Also played 15 mins of Cyberpunk in 4k and it looked glorious in SDR. HDR did not look so great. Gonna try and play around with it more.

      • +1

I disabled HDR pretty quickly on mine. SDR is better.

        • +2

Unless the monitor has FALD local dimming or is an oled, the R in HDR just stands for rubbish.

Edge lit local dimming ends up illuminating all the zones simultaneously in most scenes at full blast, making contrast worse than SDR.

      • +1

Replacement came today. Works perfect, great for work. Great for gaming after work.
Dell has the pickup from my house for the defect tomorrow. Pretty good result.
Dell's delivery and pickup is impressive.

        • Amazing, congrats. Great to hear. This has been my third Dell monitor, no issues to date. All monitors delivered in under a week. Agree with you, has been great for work and it's encouraged me to finish some games I stopped playing - Cyberpunk.

FWIW - I managed to resolve the monitor not detecting DP signal by switching to a different DP port on my docking station.

  • Thinking about getting this - what is the best cable to use? HDMI 2.1?

Also will the one that comes with the monitor be good enough or better to just buy a new one?

    • +2

The one that comes with the monitor is quite short, so unless your PC is right next to the monitor, I'd say you would need a new one.

Like others, I'm connected via DP using an old DP cable, which is working well.

  • +1

Price is too good, pulled the trigger. Thanks ok!

  • Wooo! Want to get this one. Downgrading from 49 inch neo g9. Only after I sell it though…

  • +1

Anyone pulled the trigger on the AW3423DWF recently and got a delivery date?
Thinking of purchasing one but don’t want to wait 3-4 weeks to get it. 😢

    • I got mine within 4 business days.

      • Awesome, thanks for the info. :)

    • Mine came within 3 business days, very fast :)

  • AW3423DWF vs DW?

Should I go for DWF? My main worry is no Gsync Ultimate
