Has anyone received the confirmation email yet? Been 4 days since I made my selection.

    • Dont think we need to wait for email or did i commit any mistake

      • The terms and conditions tell you to wait.

      • +2

FWIW, even though the T&Cs say to wait for the confirmation email, there's this in the FAQs:

I forgot to make my exclusive benefit choice, what can I do?
If you’ve submitted an application for a Velocity Points Earning credit card within the offer period (between 13 February 2023 and 31 March 2023), you will still be able to submit an exclulsive benefit selection here until 11.59pm AEST on 31 March 2023.

        • I got an email "thanks for selecting 250 Status Credits* as your exclusive benefit. Once you're approved and meet the minimum spend criteria for the individual credit card offer you've applied for, your benefit will be applied."

          • @Ehty: Lol I received my card as well today, Hope they dont create any issue

            • @auindie: Got my email today

              • @ctb5991: Good to know; been a week now, and I am still waiting for the email. I've gone ahead and applied for the card already :S

  • +1

Anyone know what the exclusion period is from virgin money credit cards? I closed one in early October. I think it may be 3 months but not sure..

I also have a citi bank one open atm so unsure if that will have any impact..

  • +1

"(d) meet the minimum spend criteria for the eligible offer associated with the individual card if the application is successful"

Do we have to do this by 31st March too? The dates in the T&C's seem to infer we only have to select our bonus by end of March.

The Virgin Money CC seems to be over 4 months

  • How long has it taken everyone's confirmation email to arrive after selecting the offer?
Qantas 20,000 points promo email was immediate but not this one

    • +1

Think my email arrived after a week or so.

  • Was looking at the Virgin Velocity Flyer Card - 1500 spend per month. If it was looking unlikely to make the spend limit on a month would it be possible to buy something like a coles gift card? Couldn’t see it listed as an exclusion in the Ts and Cs. Anyone ever tried something like this?

    • +2

Should be fine, would just look like a normal transaction at Coles on your statement (assuming you buy it from Coles)

  • stack with Amex referral bonus?

  • Unrelated question. Does anyone know if Virgin (High/)Flyer Credit cards support Google Pay?

Supported banks section under Google Pay list "Virgin Money Cards". However, The cards official website only lists Apple pay and Samsung Pay.

    • +1

No. I have tried to add it, but failed.

    • They are administered by Citibank. I hear Citi signed an agreement with Samsung Pay back in the day without realising nobody used it, so they can't offer Google Pay until that contract ends.

      • Cheers!

I've had/have cards with Bankwest and CommBank that support both Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
Just checked Virgin money website, their debit cards support Apply, Samsung and Google Pay.

Hopefully they will add support to CCs soon.
But yeah, it might be a limitation with Citi. Don't think their debit cards have support for Google pay either.

        • Let's hope that contract with Samsung ends soon haha

      • Unless Virgin cards administered by Citi are separate from Citi branded cards which are administered by NAB then this is no longer true. I have my Citi Rewards card from this deal loaded into my Google Wallet and I almost exclusively use it via NFC on my phone.

        • No idea…maybe NAB are not part of the original Samsung agreement

  • not on amex essentials ?

Just received the 30k bonus points for a Velocity card I signed up for in December (have to keep it for another month to get the 25k bonus for March). So seems this campaign is retrospective to some extent for those who have recently signed up for a Velocity card.

  • Anyone know if I can sign up for the Amex velocity platinum using a friend's Amex referral link and then still be eligible for this 30K promo?

  • Is anyone else getting an error with virgin money application after you enter your name, address etc?

  • Anyone else knocked out the spend early on the Westpac card and seen any movement with the bonus points or their nominated velocity reward?

    • I knocked it out within my first month in March and only just received the 70k bonus points in my 3rd statement. Haven't seen the 30k bonus from this offer yet either.

  • Would anyone know if I will still get the bonus if I activated the offer after applying for one of the eligible credit cards?
    Terms and conditions indicate it's a no…

  • i still havent received confirmation. can i go ahead and apply for cc? will i stil receive 30k bonus points?

  • Applied for virgin flyer today - gosh that application form was a fight to get through, got error messages basically every time I clicked next. Approved within a couple hours though!

    • Did u have to scan and send them your ID again? I gave them ID and payslips and all during application. It went through quick but then they emailed and asked for all the same thing again. Need to call up to ask what’s going on but waste of time.

      • No I only had to submit payslips. I gave my drivers licence number in the application. Maybe your ID check didn't work online so they need to do it manually?

I just hope i'm considered a "new customer", it's been just over a year since i cancelled my last virgin money card.

      • I think the email is something automated, I also got it but didnt need to send again after I checked with them.

        • +1

Thanks so much for clarifying. Recently had a new license issued from Optus hacking so reluctant to send across the new one. The Latitude saga unfolding isn’t making handing over my ID much easier.

          • @1bargain: How long after approval did you receive your virgin card?

            • +1

@Brick50: Almost two weeks in WA

            • +1

@Brick50: Still waiting after 1 week approval.

              • @1bargain: Has your card arrived yet? I’m also at 1 week and still no card

                • @Brick50: Still waiting.
Been holding off a big spend but it’s been too long so I caved in and paid today. Pretty annoyed it’s been taking too long. I reckon it will come tomorrow when I don’t desperately need it anymore.

                  • @1bargain: Agreed! Same here, spent a fair bit today as I am sick of waiting.

Atleast the $1500 a month shouldn’t be too hard to hit compared to most other cards, but someone said the statement date starts the day you’re approved so we may only have a couple of weeks to meet that once the card finally arrives

                    • +1

@Brick50: Can confirm my card came today 😂

                      • @Brick50: Sadly still waiting and with Easter holidays, it’s reaching 3 weeks to get the card. Very unacceptable.

                    • +1

@Brick50: Thanks for pointing that out to me. It’s not fair if they take more than 2 weeks to arrive. It’s like it’s their strategy to make us fail to meet criteria so they don’t have to pay bonus.

Received 25k bonus points as well as chosen 250 bonus credits today after 1st statement generated for Virgin credit card

    • +1

Hi auindie, may I ask how long after the 1st statement generated before the 250 status credit was issued? Thanks!

      • +1

Statement geenrated morning and points and status credited in evening

      • When does the statement period start? Is it from the activation of the card or from the first purchase? I'm cutting it fine to get gold.

        • +1

Next day when it was approved.

  • +3

Same as above, got the chosen 30k bonus points with the first month 25k with the flyer card

  • +1

Been trying to sign up for Virgin card multiple times and can't get through to the end of application without endless errors, what a joke

    • +1

it's been 3 weeks and not getting approved nor rejected. frustrating.

      • +1

I’ve already been approved within 36 hours, and I’m a casual employee. Maybe worth giving them a call

        • just called the third time. They said my application expired and asked me to reapply. That's just too new and too shocking to learn that application can be EXPIRED without informing the applicants. I am still clueless as to why it is expired…

          • +1

@colorlessblack2: Strange, this and bankwest both gave me approval in 2 days, ANZ, nab etc. 2-4 weeks

        • +2

Yup didn't even take me 24hrs for approval. Applied around midnight.
Got a call ~11am the next day saying I've mistakenly put my yearly income as monthly income 🫣. They approved the card while I was on the phone.

Also bravo on their verification requirements when calling. They asked me the 3rd letter of the answer I put for my secret question and the second digit of my DOB.

          • @FirstWizard: just did westpac application and got approval pretty much within 12 hours. I don't understand virgin…

    • I found my desktop browsers gave me endless amount of errors. Tried my android mobile and only had 1 error. Imagine how many customers would have given up.

  • Does anyone know when Westpac pays out bonus points after meeting the minimum spend? After the first statement?

  • +1

If I have registered for the bonus eg. 30000 points or $200 Coles voucher and received email confirmation prior to 30/3/2023 but only apply for the credit card after the expiry date, do I still get the bonus or do you have to apply for the credit card before the expiry date

    • To my understanding, it's apply and be approved by 31st March

    • I am trying to find this out too. The way I read it, it doesn’t mention anything about needing to apply by that date, just register for the bonus. Couldn't find any email address to contact and confirm.

    • Did you get an answer to this?

  • Anyone else having issues with not receiving monthly bonus points on the Virgin Velocity Flyer card due to not meeting minimum spend because the card didn’t arrive for > 2 weeks (from WA) and the statement starts from date of approval? If so, were you able to complain about this and who did you speak to? Other credit cards now allow you to add the card to apple pay as soon as it’s approved - this one you’re forced to wait for the physical card. So far i’m not stoked with virgin money - the app is pretty hopeless and the OTPs take forever to come through.

    • I haven't received my card for 3 weeks. Now I'm worried. Following..

      • Have talked to them on the phone. First person adamantly refusing to honour points. She said as it arrived within 2 weeks (on the 10th business day) that that is considered normal and it's my responsibility to meet the minimum spend in the following two weeks (even though cards generally arrive within 5 business days and other banks allowing you to set up apple pay from date of approval). I then asked to speak to the manager and was told there's no point because the outcome wouldn't be different, I pushed for it and spoke to the manager who agreed to credit 20k points (she said this was the maximum and they cannot honour the 25k). Doubt I'll qualify for the 30k bonus now at the end of 4 months though…

        • 🙁 not fair. Should give buffer for delivery. I’ll call them asap. Still nothing in the mail.

  • I can confirm I've received 250 status credits on my first velocity flyer card statement instead of having to get the 4th :)

  • Still haven't received mine. Wondering if I'll even receive it before the first period finishes!

    • You can call them , they probably send the new one via priority mail.

    • I called them. They will allow me to combine 2 months spend so I have time to receive my new card and meet eligibility.

    • So I did call they sent a new one express. 2 days later… the old card then showed up! Annoyingly had to wait for the new one to arrive (2 more days later) because the first was cancelled.

They said if I don't meet the min spend to just call and they would give me the points.

      • A week after I called, the old one turned up. Someone accidentally received it and reposted.

Darn, now I’m still waiting for the new card and I can’t wait to put big spend on it. It’s been more than a month now. So tired of waiting.

  • So it seems there's no time limit on getting the bonus points once you get approved for a credit card. That's good to know.

  • Got my virgin statement 2 days ago but still no points on my velocity account despite stating the 25k points on the statement

    • Hey did you end up receiving it? How long did it take? I’m in the same boat

      • Still no points yet

        • +1

I have not received my points either. Statement period ended 2nd of May, statement received on the 3rd showing points.

        • @Rodger1 @Seeker888 any luck?

          • @winteroce: Nothing yet, though it says in the online account it has transferred

            • @Seeker888: @Seeker888 is this your Virgin Money account? My rewards are in 'active' status.. whatever that means.

    • Same boat as you on mine and partners account. Still no points either at this time.

    • I am in the same boat. A friend of mine who has this same card noticed that he and his partner are credited points on the 15th of every month (even though they are on different statement cycles). I will wait until then, and if no points, I plan to follow-up with Virgin Money.

  • My points just hit!

    • Good news, happy days! I think I received my statement same time as you so hopefully mine comes soon too :)

      • FYI, I had to call them and they manually processed my points.

        • That’s annoying but thanks for the heads up
Did they say what was wrong and if next month it should go through automatically?

          • @Seeker888: Nope, didn't say what was wrong. They said next month should be auto.

        • What number did you call? Virgin money or velocity?

          • @chillybags: Virgin Money

            • @winteroce: I tried calling them and was told there’s a technical glitch in the background, preventing customers with bills generated on the second and third of the month receiving points. They said they are already aware and working on the issue. I could not provide a time frame for it to be rectified. They said they were unable to manually process the point.

              • @chillybags: Thanks, good to know they’re working on it

                • @Seeker888: My points came through today. Can also confirm that I received my 250 status credits and my partners 250 status credits after the first virgin money flyer statement. I’m now only two eligible flights away from gold status.

                  • @chillybags: Ohh just checked mine came through too
                    Well done, exciting stuff!
