This is my go to IKEA peeler. Same price and it's amazing.

    I wonder which is better.

    • Very likely to be the OXO, IKEA stuff is OK… But not VERY GOOD

      • -1

I can't comment on how good the OXO is but I can confirm that, in my opinion and that of people I have introduced the IKEA peeler to, it is very good indeed.

Hi, my name's Bob - I'd like to introduce you to my IKEA peeler.

        • -3

I can’t skip backwards on the moon, but of all the lamingtons in my grandma’s handbag, non-sequitur magic pineapple…

  • I don't peel anything, most skins contain alot of nutrients.

      Clarkson?

      +pesticides
      +herbicides

      • Not sure why the negs, you are right.. And rinsing doesn't necessarily remove them.

It is true that skins contain many nutrients but it is also true that most fruit and veg are sprayed.

        • +1

Don't you mostly peel root vegetables?
Kind of hard to spay underground :-/

          • @thedean: Good point but I generally peel apples also, as an example.

          • @thedean: Ironically its worse with ground veg and fruit, since the roots absorb the most whatever is in the soil.
If only organic wasn't so expensive…

        • +1

          The truth hurts

        • Who said I don't buy organic, or grow my own?

But I get your point too.

      Is that you Dahmer?

    • Most, you say…

  • Would this one be easier to use?

Which style is the one that reduces chances of me cutting myself?

    • +1

Comes down to personal preference I think, I don't think one is going to specifically reduce your chances of cutting yourself over the other.

  • I threw out something very similar and then bought one from Kmart for $2.5. Works great!

This is the best peeler I have. I much prefer it to my Victorinox.

Thanks OP, grew up using this in my dads house and nothing else has come close so glad to get one of my own.

  • OOS

    • +2

Temp OOS, can still place order

  • If I buy this with shop back, will it count towards the $350 Shopback challenge @gotyourback ? (Not sure if tagging works) I know kitchen is zero per cent and I think the terms and cons say it this won't count, but wanted to check in case my umpossible English failed.

    Already got an oxo peeler.

  • I bought this last deal. Very good, very sharp, be careful when using it. I also had the ikea one in the past but dont rmbr much about it. My wife was also impressed the first time she used the OXO. How often does a peeler leave a lasting impression haha.

It's not showing up as $8? Anyone else have this issue?
