I think its free shipping, but let me know if it isnt for some post codes and ill update.

Also, there may be an option for 5% (~$50) off first order for first sign up to acer.

Currently for 1698 @ HN - they are refusing to price match! (Tried both in store and online)

    Mainly want something reliable and will last some time for good bang for buck as I know the Lenovo is on a different league with higher specs and therefore a higher price

      Well it depends what you want to do with it. This laptop has dedicated graphics but the lenovo doesn't.

        I am using it mainly for entertainment post graduate studies. So lots of reading, writing and some video watching only. I don't mind paying a bit more but not sure if I am paying for something overkill and redundant at the Lenovo specs? I don't mind paying more for something more durable and reliable longer term though.

          This laptop should suit your needs nicely. It also has a bigger screen than the Lenovo so may be better for reading / writing / movies, unless you're going to be using an external monitor most of the time.

          For me, durability is not a top concern for electronics devices / laptops, although this laptop does feel quite solid. I already have a Macbook Pro from work so it will probably only see light use so I don't need a super dooper high end laptop.

          In saying that, I think it would be best if you can try them out both in person before making a decision, especially if you are the type of person who gets annoyed / frustrated by little things.

    hi all,
    just ordered one of these, came in the mail today.

    has a strange line from top to bottom of screen down the right hand side - looks like some pixel issue.

    Has anybody also ordered and had this issue?

      No issues with my screen - everything seems fine so far.

      I just noticed a red pixel right on the edge of the top of the screen and a yellow circle around it about the size of a pea. It's only visible when the background is white. I've emailed Acer, let's see what they have to say. I am hoping they will replace it.

      I didn't get a shipping notice. It just turned up couple days after I ordered it

      No notification or tracking. I ordered on Sunday and first delivery attempted on Tuesday. I got it redelivered today.
