Melbourne to Seoul, South Korea from $678 Return on Royal Brunei Airlines [July to October] @ Beat That Flight

Royal Brunei Airlines. A 4-star Skytrax rated airline, and before people yell 'dry airline!', I'll point out that while they don't serve alcohol, you're apparently able to bring your own onboard. But it must be consumed before you get off the plane.

Not fussed about the dry airline… more fussed about supporting a shit regime.

I thought you meant S. Korea!

Not exactly stellar record of democratic power transfers.

US lecturing about practices. How ironic

If you know Brunei as a country, you'll realise it's nowhere near how Western media describes it. It's predominantly a peaceful country with friendly people. The government itself have conservative elements pushing for religious dogma, much like every other country. If anyone is virtue signalling about supporting a shit regime, one could say about the US and every other country with their warmongering.

      • Couldn't agree more.

Whataboutism (or the Trump/Putin/Xi Defence) doesn't solve anything. Maintaining standards and holding yourself and others to it does.

The US is everyone's favourite punching bag, but are you expecting the world to get better by using that as an excuse to ignore everyone else? How about holding everybody to a higher standard?

      • I am not saying the US is a good regime. I just think Brunei's laws are questionable. Laws enacted by a regime.

make sure you only book a one-way ticket. Royal Brunei will not guarantee your return from NK

      best Korea

  • direct flight?

if so "Royal Brunei is unique for this type of list as the airline does not serve alcohol but people who bring their own alcohol and ask it to be served, can drink. However, if you land in the country of Brunei the alcohol will be taken from you so plan accordingly."

but plenty of cheap booze in SK (because drugs aren't, but getting easier to access)

  • remember paying $400ish return from syd-seoul nonstop via Jetstar, need something like that again! (that too was courtesy of your post)
