Sofirn has recently posted some deals for Feb on their facebook page.

Cheapest price yet for the SC32. Even cheaper than recent AliExpress deals 1 & 2.

I've not seen the SC18 on here before, nor the SC21 Pro, although the SC21 Pro basically looks the same as the SC21 (except that it has anduril 1)

All come with battery included.

The SC21 Pro looks perfect for the pocket, but not if you're trying to impress the ladies! Maybe go the SC32 if that's what you're aiming for ;)

    Thanks, picked up a SC21.

EDIT: Just realise it the 'Pro' model with the Anduril 1 user interface.

    • Is this anduril pro interface going to be useful for the person who doesnt actually need a flashlight (minimal, theorectically possible use in future) but is just buying because bargain?

      • If you have never used the Anduril UI, then it will take some time to figure out/remember all the combinations.

Here's the UI Diagram Wrong UI.

Text document for correct UI. Also diagram.

EDIT 28/2: Just received mine, and it has Anduril 2 installed. (No 6 click muggle mode)

        • thats fked… i just went with the 18. battery life on the 21 looks balls

          • +1

            @Mudkip:

battery life on the 21 looks balls

That cause it using a smaller 800mAh 16340 Battery, due to its size and form factor.

For comparison, the others are using a 3000mAh 18650 Battery.

      • +3

Even if you don't use the modes Anduril is still great on the simple setting. It means your torches always work the same way.
        * 1 click - turns on to a set brightness
        * click and hold - turns on the lowest and ramps up to whatever you want
        * double click - turbo (the brightest)
        * 1 click to turn off
It's great to have instant access to super low, my set brightness and turbo from off. Plus you have the benefit of being able to tweak the levels. Now I have used Anduril I won't buy a torch without it.

    • What does it mean to have an Anduril 1 interface, is this to control it through an app? I don't understand, it's just a torch that you turn/off, or is there something I'm not aware of

      • +4

The UI is programmed into the torch and allow you to turn the light on, off and switch to different modes all with 1 switch (using different press and hold combinations).

  • SC18 for me. Thanks OP.

  • 21 here. Ty

    • +3

      Happy 21st!! 🥳🎂🍰

      • +1

Heh, I wish. Holding an infant, so lazy typing with one hand… Damn you

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought the 32

  • Can't go wrong with Sofirn. SC18 is a bargain even if SST40 doesn't have the nicest output.

  • Which one can I blind myself with?

  • Any idea if these have mounts that can be used securely when riding a bike?

    • I use these mounts.

ROCKBROS Bike Flashlight Mount 360 Degree Rotation Bike Light Holder 2 Pack Multifunctional Cycling Bicycle Clip Torch Light Mounting Bracket https://amzn.asia/d/5AS6wKs

      • Thanks, $10 bucks a mount for a 2 pack eh.

Will these lights be brighter if usb powered?

        • +2

No. They draw higher current from lithium cells than through USB. One thing to note is none of them will hold the brightness and will gradually step down in brightness due to temperature regulation.

          • @zealmax: Thank for the info, I need a wide angle far shooting depth light for my bike riding at night where there are no st lamps and hoping this does the trick for at least 45-60mins! p.s. Ordered the rockbros mount you suggested

            • @reece8: can confirm the rockbros mounting bracket works a charm, and I ride on some pretty hard gravel roads. thanks!

    • I am using Sofirn SP10 Pro running on 1xAA battery mounted on a vecro-strap handlebar mount.

      • Nice, got a link to that Velcro handlebar mount?

        • Sorry, no. I bought that mount many years ago. It looks similar to one sold by Sofirn but the top strap is 90 degree turn from the bottom strap.
          https://sofirnlight.myshoplaza.com/products/flashlight-holde…

Sofirn also sells another cheap bike straps:
          https://sofirnlight.myshoplaza.com/products/flashlight-silic…

          • @edfoo: Thanks they are certainly inexpensive options! I'll go with the more pricey sturdy one suggested above to begin with and see how we go. Those silicone strap ones remind me the knog lights!

          • @edfoo: I bought some of the second type (not from Sofirn; they are sold everywhere) to get me out of a pinch for my work commute during the winter of 2020 and that same one is still going strong. I think I will be dead and buried before I go through all 5 that came in the pack.

They are fiddly to get the angle right initially, but weigh nothing and can be underslung under the bars. I never expected to use them more than a month or two and yet here I am.

            • @henno: Cool good to know cheap works!

  • +1

Could someone please help the lazy (me) and give a quick TL;DR of the differences between each model?

    • +5

SC18 and SC32 very similar. Side switch vs tail switch. SC21 Pro fancy UI better colour rendering but very short bettery life about18mins on turbo and 28mins on high.

      • bettery

the others had better runtime :(

  • Got the 18

  • +14

Don't even need it. Bought one because it is apparently a bargain, and I am sick and tired of seeing these torchlight deals, clicking on the post, reading comments, reading reviews watching reviews, then going back to check previous deals and comments. Sigh.
I have not used a torchlight in last 20 years, nor I feel I will need to use it(probably I will forget it at home if I even need that 1 time after 4 years).
    There, take the + OP.

    • +3

and when you do need a torchlight, you don't have it on you and you end up using your smartphone :'(

      • Haha exactly. I might need to change my whole lifestyle to take use of these 🤣

        • though honestly reading your comment actually stopped me from pulling the trigger, my wallet thanks you <3

    • I'm the same, I haven't used a torch for years but got the Sofirn IF22A from a previous deal for $41 after getting FOMO. Great little torch but I don't really have a use for it
      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003349281393.html

    • +2

I use my torch almost daily, invaluable tool.

      • +1

Teach me your ways! What use cases do you have, I mean, other than making the dark places bright(obviously)? I really want to use torch.

        • *mounts torch as smartphone camera flash

        • +3

Just off the top of my head:

I'm often up at night, and i use it to make sure i'm not walking into spiders/etc when in garden, walking somewhere, etc.
I work on the car/ in the workshop often, which even with a floodlight is still invaluable for targeted/detail lighting of what i'm working on.
Around the house if people are sleeping and there are toys/whatever on the floor etc, prevents stepping on sharp objects.
Sometimes fun to look into trees at night for possums, birds.
When looking in my (large) letterbox, even in day light, it's sometimes easier to shine it in than to squint and wait for my eyes to adjust. Have been caught out sticking my hand into a spider web in there before.
Getting under the desk/ back of the cupboard looking for an item, or plugging/unplugging bits of a computer, etc.

^ most of these uses, a smartphone light is probably good enough, but some uses it's not, and with a torch you get a lot more energy without draining your phone battery, so no brainer for me

          • @ssfps: Nice. Thanks for taking time to give us insight. Cheers mate.

    • You bought a lithium cell with added components!

    • Useful if you walk your dog in the dark as I do.

  • Any deals on LT1 lantern? So happy with first one that I need more around the house.

  • SC32 the brightest one?

  • How do I get the SC18 for $25.79, if I use code T6IXUUZN, it only takes 15% off and brings it down to $36.54

    • +1

Checkbox coupon on the product page for 25% off (might have to refresh a few times to see it) + the coupon code at checkout.

      • thanks, didn't see it

  • +1

Super tempting, but I just bought a couple of Wuben C2s for around $40, and I don't know if I can live without the powerbank / phone charging feature…?

  • Not a lot of reviews.

    • +1

      New models

  • Looking for a good torch for when we go camping etc, i need good light and good distance, are these those super bright things that can shine down the road?

  • +1

Stupid question but how do you apply the 2nd discount? I can only apply DOUWSVJD on the SC32KIT.
Edit: never mind, have to collect the coupon before the checkout page

    • There should be a checkbox coupon on the product page which gives you 15% off (might have to refresh a few times to see it).

  • +1

Thanks OP… about time I bought an OB torch (ordered SC18, and actually have a use for it).
Now… to complete my OB collection I need a bunch of eneloops, a powerbank and a dell laptop backpack (lol).

  • It doesn’t give the 20% off?

    • Might have to refresh a few times. If it doesn't show up, then most likely expired.

      • I think you might be right. I think the coupon might have expired on the SC32. I'll try and refresh a couple more times, and if it's not coming up, I'll update the deal. (edit: you beat me to it!)

        • I think the SC18 coupons may not be working any more. I've written to sofirn to get them to check what's going on. I am not connected with them in any way, so can't do any more than that. Will update deal if someone else can confirm they also can't get it to work.

          • +1

@youknow: Most likely all the allocated coupon has been exhausted.

  • +3

I bought a SC21pro direct from their Ali store 3 months ago and it came loaded with Anduril 2.
The ad said it was going to be 1 though lots of the comments said they made the switch over to 2

    • What is Andruril? Isnt this just a torch? Sorry to newb here just looking for a good high brightness torch for camping

      • You can use it as "just a torch", but it has a firmware built in, that lets you choose brightness levels, strobing and other features all from a single physical button.

    • Just played around with my SC21 Pro from this deal, looks like it has Anduril 2 as well (no 6 click muggle mode).

  • I can't apply any of the coupon successfully any more. If someone else could confirm, I'll mark the deal as expired until the situation changes.

    • +1

I just tested the SC18 and still has $25.79 as the final price.

      • Thank you :)
Yes, I can do it now too. User error ;)

  • +2

Thanks OP Got the 18, my first EDC. And for some strange reason I ended up with an extra lumintop at checkout … sigh

  • Got an SC18, thanks OP. My first "professional" torch after buying those cheap aliexpress ones for years.

  • +1

    Thanks op

  • sc18 also expired.

  • +2

Thanks OP, I picked up the 32. I'm not telling the Mrs though, she thinks I've got an obsession with torches.(she may be right).

    • +1

      I can relate!

  • +1

I bought the SC32 coz why not?

  • If anyone wants to buy a sofirn sc18, you can get 2x SC18 for USD$29.1 inc shipping from sofirnlight. that's around $43 for two. $21-$22 each..

    • ~A$30 after you factor in GST and select battery option.

      • Battery made it $25, must have missed GST. Edit: price has gone up slightly also.

  • Well my SC32 arrived today and it doesn't work!! The only way I can get any light out of it is to hold the button down for about 2 seconds and it comes on really dull with red indicator light on. If I hold the button down the red light starts blinking and the light stays dull then goes out. I have tried the 4 quick clicks to see if it's locked and tried a known good battery from one of my other torches. I've had a much better run out of my Ebay $9 specials. I've had one for over 2 years now and use it every day at work for at least 1 to 2 hours per day and never had an issue. Trust my bad luck to get a dud one.

    • +1

Sorry to hear you've been unlucky. I'd recommend making contact with the seller via amazon or email. I am sure they can work something out for you.

      • Yeah, I sent them a message through Amazon earlier this afternoon.

        • +1

Just an update, the seller is organising a replacement for me. Very good communications and fast action, their service is top notch.

          • @whitey: And a further update - They sent a brand new unit minus the battery and it works perfectly.

  • SC32 arrived today - light tip end gets super hot after about 5 seconds on turbo, so I dont think it's really a 2000lumen torch and it takes an annoying click combo to get to this brightness - It may be 2000lumen but only for 1-2-3 seconds before getting super hot. I thought this would unseat the Ozbargainers favourite Wuben C3, but I think the C3 holds supreme overall.

    • How long can you run Wuben C3 in Turbo mode before it gets hot?
I suspect almost all these torches cannot run on Turbo mode for long anyway. They get very hot and the battery voltage will drop, the brightness only stays at maximum lumens for short time (a few minutes) before it gradually drops and settles on a lower lumens.

  • +1

Happy with my SC18 that arrived today.
    Thanks OP.

    • I also got the SC18, and am very happy with it. It seemed to be similar spec to the SC32, just a few minor differences, but much cheaper.
My Sofirn collection is Q8 Pro, BLF SP36, IF22A and now the SC18. The SC18 is like a baby compared to the others, but the only one that's sensible to carry in your pocket or on your belt. I've been really happy with all of them, so I'm a bit sad to see a couple of people have had less than great experiences with the SC32.
