Samsung 9.1.4 Soundbar HW-Q930B/XY $749 + Delivery ($0 to Selected Cities) @ Buy Smarte

840

Cheapest price for this soundbar that I've seen!

Managed to get JB Hi-fi to price match this store, and then I stacked that with the $50 off perks voucher to bring the total price down to $699

Shipping seems to be free for metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne, while Perth seems to attract a $79 delivery fee. Haven't tried other cities.

$699. Now that is a bargain. I was happy with my $775 last week.

    GREAT JOB!!! Amazing sound bar.

    what’s the difference with 990b?

thats not a lot of bees really

        • -1

          Is it the knees bees?
          Or decibels?
          Or decibees?

    • +9

Aside from costing more, the 990B is slightly bigger, has extra channels, including the side firing rear speakers and a different subwoofer. The 990B generally considered to be a better system (based on reviews from Ratings and other audio reviewers) but most say that the 930B is better value for money.

      • I wonder how much the two subwoofers differ. Anyone heard them both? Thanks!

        • +1

I could find no discernable difference when testing both out

          • -1

@doobey1231: You're not going to hear a damn thing when "testing out" a wall bouncing atmos setup at jb hifi, no.

        • +3

I own the 930b and am very happy with it for price, listening to a friend's 990b the sub sounded a bit punchier for music - as you'd expect. Don't feel like I'm missing anything with the smaller sub but both are great systems.

  • JB Hifi doesn't have any of these in stock in Perth…. :(

    • Try for an online order!

  • +2

Great price especially when you price match and perks. I got mine on Sunday through a prior deal, loving it so much.

  • I got the good guys to price match the Samsung website recently for $760. They did it without any issues. Called up their head office and they found one locally for me and out the order through on the spot.

  • We have the HW-Q800T

Will the Q930B be a good upgrade?

    • Yes as the surrounds are amazing!!!

      • I got to probably demo it in store haha

  • +1

$595 for those that have 15% off jb gift cards, awesome price

    • +1

      Where can you get these?

      • Following this too

@dts88: November last year at coles, I just used them to buy an iPhone a month ago

  • Anyone know how to get the perks $50 voucher?

  • +1

Anyone use stands for hte back speakers?

  • +1

Got one from JB for 699 ( Vic 3108). Thank you!

    • How?

      • +2

Price matched it online and then used $50 JB perk code to bring it down to $699

        • Got it, nice :)

    • I got mine from there as well paying using discounted gift cards!

  • +2

Does JB record serial numbers of items dispatched? Just wondering. :-)

    • Saving $75 would be nice, but the pain for the gain isn’t worth it. I could end up with two sound bars!!!!

  • I'm interested in how much power these things consume after changing from my 15yo Yamaha AMP w/ 5.1 that consumed 800watts even when watching TV and playing basic 2.1 to a Topping MX3 that consumes ~100w and doing the same job (Sub power usage remains the same). It's been fine as I don't notice the difference, others might but I don't.

For this device if I add up the power consumption of all speakers listed in the manual it totals 108w. Is this right?

    • Operating Power Consumption (Main)
      42W

      Operating Power Consumption (Subwoofer)
      28W

      Operating Power Consumption (Rear)
      19W x 2 W

      Yep 108w

It's be interesting to know real world data is. Maybe we should be turning our soundbars off occasionally as I'm guessing the TV speakers use bugger all power (e.g. when watching the news, reality tv!)

    • +1

I put a watt meter thingy on the bar+sub and it was ~32 watts

My old denon amp drew over 130w alone just when it was on and nothing playing through it

  • -4

100 quid and i am in

  • I have old sony 5.1 channel speaker system attached to the TV using optical cable. Its just Dolby Digital in it. My living is big.
Will this be a big a good upgrade?

    • +1

Yea. I think you would be pleased. To my ears it is as good as if not better than a $3000+ onkyo custom system I had with massive fronts and centre.

  • +1

Someone please tell me I dont need to upgrade my Yamaha YAS-108

    • upgrade it 😈

    • You don't need to, but you want to. So just do it, I know you can!

    • It will be SO SO SO much better. YAS 108 is a good non-sub sound bar though.

    • I upgraded to these from Yas-108 :D

  • cheaper than Samsung Edu, $764.15

    • Samsung EPP $749 (after 50% discount)

  • Thanks OP

JB Hifi Price Matched - $749

Where did you get 15% off gift cards?

      • Got 1000 from coles on Christmas:)

    • +1

Cheers, enjoy the good sound! Just set mine up and I'm very happy with it :)

    • Hi would you mind share the receipt? I am trying to get a price match but they told me it need to be a physical store

      • Here you go https://imgur.com/a/nZI7rgX

I believe Buy Smarte does have a physical location in Sydney that they do pickup orders from, hopefully that's enough ammo for them to approve it :)

Looks like their price match policy also does include online shops, as long as the delivery price is factored into the total price. https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360053193014…

"Online price comparisons must include any delivery costs."

        • Thanks!

      • Just chat with them and share product link.

        I just typed 2 lines:
        -Price Match
        - Link of product on other website

        • Thanks! I got it via the live chat as well

  • is the rear wireless ? only need power ?

  • +1

Got it for $740 a couple days ago after price matching appliancecentral for $790 minus $50 perks voucher.

Good to see it even cheaper!

    • +1

      $775 for me….even then I was happy.

  • ty op i think i better order one, $1500 soundbar for 699 is wild

  • jb wouldnt match for me hahaha they reckon buysmart want $99 to ship and he has to add that to the price

    • +1

Choose a postcode where the shipping is free!

      • +3

        ty got it sorted

      • Right? you've gotta be straight up dumb to give them the exact location if it's going to charge shipping lmaoooo

      • 4053 is free

    • Chat online n get the offer

  • Cracking price for the 930B, I managed to snag the older Q950a model (the previous flagship from Samsung) for about the same price last week, very happy with it!

  • I have this system matched with qn90b in a 4x3m media room. Sounds really good and there is genuine surround sound. But probably not as effective if you have them installed in a large living room.
Its also compatible with q symphony which is pretty much syncing the sound with the tv speakers. Makes the overall sound a bit fuller and clearer.

  • +1

Got one from JB with $50 perks plus 3% off gift cards making it about $680, cheers OP

  • +1

Don't forget to use 10% off TCN "HIM" giftcards via https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/758576 - convert them to JB Hi-Fi and you're good to go!

    Price Match + Perks + TCN 10% off = $629 purchase price.

  • -2

Bought it for $650 back in Dec from Good Guys. Plus had 15% off TCN Gift Cards + Good Guys store cash back worth $80= Net cost $470 or so

  • Hey all, is this sound bar universal, in saying this can it be used with my Sony TV?

    • +1

      Yes connection is via hdmi

  • If you have an Amex card with Harvey Norman Offer, you can also price beat online for $749 and with extra $50 off $300 offer will make it $699.

  • I have a Sony HT-G700, I don't know much about sound systems, but that had excellent reviews.

I've never really liked the sound of it. It's connected to my LG C9, PS5 and I'm in an apartment. Based on that limited information, do people think this soundbar is a substantial upgrade from my Sony?

    • Does the Sony have rears? Atmos? If no then this will be a huge improvement.

      • Depends on the content though

      • it has fake atmos which sounds crap.

        no rears

  • i dont know much about sound bars but my dad wants to get one, would this soundbar be compatible with lg 65 nano75 sqa?

    • +1

      All tvs.

  • I got this one but I feel somehow the sub is really quiet, any tips making it louder or making it more of a boom effect?

    • Rtfm

    • Wow. Mine is very very present. No concerns.

    • you can increase the subwoofer volume / output from the remote. just beside the overall volume button

  • could you get samsung to pricematch and get the 15% extra if you own samsung devices? IIRC with the samsung TV I had to provide 2 screenshots of the samsung phone/tablet I owned and got this extra discount too.

    • Just need to find out if Samsung price matches.

  • Omg, I actually did the same thing two days ago with the same store, I just completely forgot to use the $50 voucher, plus I paid $16 shipping fee here in Sydney as well.

Been trying it out tonight, not too shabby.

  • Listened to the 930b and 990b at a JB hi-fi a couple of days ago. The 990b is a bit boomier but I don't think you can go wrong with the 930b especially once cranked up.

    • And at $699!!!!!

      • That too

      • $630 if you use TCN HIM gift cards from woolies at 10% off.

  • +1

Contacted jb hifi through chat for a price match which wasn't a problem but there was no local stock.

So I drove to the closest tgg and asked if they can price match it. Ended up getting the soundbar plus 5 years concierge gold for $750. Happy
