    If a dodgy $9 license key would break your budget, there's also the free "Community Edition" version of Visual Studio. Here's a feature comparison.

    While they're probably dodgy, I have used keys like this before for windows and office and they've always worked without issue. I figure that worst case they get revoked and I have to buy another one - but you can buy a lot oof $10 keys before you've paid off a full price one.

      It's against the terms of the license to use the community edition for work.

      Now buying dodgy CD keys isn't terribly much better than breaking the TOS but at least you have plausible deniability?

        Not quite. It's fine for commercial use up to 5 people, and $1m revenue.

        It's actually a super fair commercial use agreement. If you're over $1m, pay for your IDEs! And you probably want the extra features anyway.

    Windows & Office keys sold through these mobs are generally okay because they buy excess OEM keys, though they are usually at a cost higher than this. Not sure about OEM VS keys, though. Here is some sample code:
