      • My new PC was arriving this week and I couldn't wait haha

        • +1

          Time to buy a matching 2nd and 3rd :P

          • @Trance N Dance: Exactly. And monitor arms to go with it.

            • @xoom: Highly recommend getting individual arms for each monitor. Usually is easier to manage monitors and angles then.

        • Did you buy from Dell?
Can you cancel or maybe ask for a refund on the price difference?
Worse they can do is say no, so no harm in asking.

          • +1

@FireRunner: It is already delivered, but i'll try asking for a refund for the difference!

            • +2

@NiceGarry: I recall seeing that Dell has a 30 day price guarantee when I purchased mine.
              https://www.dell.com/en-au/lp/price-match-guarantee#30-Days-Price-guarantee-(After-Purchase)
That link should have the details to assist.

          • +1

@FireRunner: Turns out that Dell has a 30 Days Price Guarantee. Just got a $75 refund. FireRunner you bloody legend for getting me to check!

            • +1

@NiceGarry: Now take that $75 and buy something else for sale here.

    • Got mine 2 weeks ago, needed to grab them and didnt want to risk price going up again. 430 odd each was good enough for me

      • +2

As others have said in the thread, you can get a refund for the price difference if within 30 days of the purchase (if purchased from Dell).

        • Oh true! Got them 3rd Feb, just snuck in! Thanks

    • I bought one about 28 days ago. Just called Dell as they have 30 days Price Guarantee, they will refund the difference, but unfortunately, they won't apply the coupon. Anyway, better than nothing.

  • -2

I was disappointed by this monitor, HDR sucks and general picture quality is worse than my U2515

  • Is this an avg price for 27" 1440p with high refresh rate?
Was buying a monitor a year or two back and couldve sworn they were alot more affordable back then.

    • +4

      Were they TN panels monitors?
Sub $400 is not common with 1440p 144Hz+ IPS displays

      • Could be why, been a while.

I'm on the market for a 27" 1440p IPS but think I'd only really want 120hz, maybe 144.

Is it worth grabbing this regardless?
Not sure how noticeable the difference from 120-144-165hz could be,
think I'd rather save with a lower refresh rate than spend so much.

        Thoughts?

        • +1

I think all the little features make this a worthwhile purchase.
USB hub, ergonomics, solid stand, 400 nit brightness, etc
Don't think you'll save much with a cheaper 27" 1440p 144Hz but will miss out on the nice features that make the monitor better.

          I had a Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD which was a 27" 1440p 144Hz
I definitely noticed all the little creature comforts when I upgraded to this model

    • +1

Yeah the pandemic made a mess of production. So things are starting to cost more.

    • You might be thinking of the M27Q which was ~$300 in 2021 but it was just that product iirc

  • I bought this monitor about 2-3 years ago and have no issues. Plan to buy another one to set it up as dual monitors if this is possible. However, my laptop has only one HDMI port. Any idea how I can get dual monitors to work? What hardware do I need apart from two monitors and one HDMI port?

    • You can get a usb c dock that has hdmi.

Thats how i got setup at work. One monitor plugs to hdmi on laptop. The second screen on usb c hubs hdmi port.

Bought this one but only because I needed the other ports

      https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Charging-Ethernet-Compatibl…

    • Does your laptop have USB-C with display functionality?
If so, you can buy a dock or displayport adapter and hook a monitor up though that.
      Otherwise, you're out of luck

  • Thanks OP, had been waiting to get a decent 1440p monitor for a while.

Got it down to around ~$370 with the unidays offer as well.

  • Can these be used with Samsung DEX? So one USB C cable to connect

    • Possible.

    • +1

I've done this with a USB C to HDMI cable, but this one doesn't take a direct USB C input so no regular USB C to C cable.

  • any good deal for 32 inch non-curve?

  • I'm trying to find a 27' QHD USB-C hub monitor that has over 100hz. Any recommendation please?

  • +1

Damn this site, now just purchased two more. I already have two at home so these will go well. What single monitor arm do people use with their monitors?

  • Can anyone confirm if this stacks with the $100 annual credit for Amex Qantas Business Rewards? Cheers

    • Confirm it stacks with the offer, doesn't seem to be affected by promo code. Got credit 3 days after purchase. Brings the price down further to $2xx.

  • How does it compare to this 4K one? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/746126
I use the monitor half for gaming and half for streaming/working.
I know they are not in the same price range but just want to grab a few thoughts of it in real life use :)

  • My eye are accustomed to 4k monitor for productivity work (I read a lot / university stuff).

Do you think the difference will be huge between 4k and QHD in reading text?

    • +1

Text seem great on it to me, but it is a gaming monitor so it will be biased towards that more.
However if you game, your GPU will find 1440p much easier than 4k.

Also 4k in a 27inch monitor seems a little excessive in the PPI (Pixel Density) department, so that might be why it looks sharp enough to me?
Having said that I think the PPI for this screen is about 110,
It looks like a 4k screen would need to be over 40inch's before its PPI drops below a 27inch 1440p.
So depending on the size screen you are coming from you probably will be dropping PPI.

Probably not relevant, but 4k will upscale 1080p better, but text is unlikely to be fixed 1080p content.

  • Thanks for the post.

Been waiting for a deal for a new gaming monitor.

  • +1

Bought mine 2 years ago, still excellent in all ways. Not looking to upgrade until GPU performance changes drastically (3070-> 5070? Or equivalent).
Worth looking at analytic reviews for settings adjustment to colour/refresh rates etc.
Great price for (still) one of the best monitors in 1440p 165hz IPS category.

  • Is it better to have two screens or a large 34 or 38"

    • +1

I have a 34" Alienware Ultrawide with one of these babies on either side of it.
      8560x1440p FTW!

      • is yours double horizontal set up, or one horizontel and one vertical?

I'm thinking of whether i get a 2nd monitor of different size.

  • i have 4 of these and still love them.
(3 on a sim rig + 1 on the desk)

    excellent value all round

  • Thanks. Bought one.

  • Will this work with a ps5 @ 1440p 144Hz?

    • No it won't , ps5 doesn't support it

      • +1

        PS5 now supports 1440p…

        • 60 or 120 fps with this monitor?

  • -1

Not the cheapest, I remember buying this for $300 some time ago.

    • I think you remember it wrong….

      • +1

It was as low as about ~$360 with all the stacking. But perhaps there could be targeted offers etc to get $300.

    • +1

That was the non DGF model - so 75hz

      • Don’t Give a Fukc model?

  • +1

I grabbed one of these back in 2020 for $510 when every other day a Dell monitor deal was posted. Love it! I don't think it's a market leader in brightness or anything, but for the price you're not going to find anything close.

    • It's an excellent monitor for the price to do work and game on. Can't fault it except the freezing when you have USB devices plugged in. I don't think it needs to be any brighter, I had to turn it down quite a bit as I had eye strain working on these monitors.

  • Anyone know how long it takes to get an order confirmation. The sites was buggy when i ordered it and i dont know if it went through or not

    • +1

Took about 5 minutes for me.

      • +1

thank you just reordered and got the confirmation

  • I have 2 of these. They're good!

  • Chiming in to say that this monitor is a really good deal! I bought it last July when they were this price on eBay and I was not disappointed. Letters look crisp for work, refresh rate is good, no weird tearing, everything is buttery smooth. Highyly recommend this one.

  • Thanks OP, bought 1 without doing any research

I'm relying on the comments on here

  • -1

I have two of these and could hardly disagree more with this constant spruiking of its untouchable price performance. They're great for two years ago and not in the conversation now. Check out Hardware Unboxed/Monitors Unboxed for an easily digestible run down of the actual competitive options.
I wouldn't pull the trigger on these today unless they were to dip around 300 and I had a definite need in the short term as there are better available that will also go on sale at some stage.

    • +3

I haven't seen anything better at this price point.
What product(s) in particular are you talking about

      • +5

Dont you just (profanity) hate it when someone comments how you shouldn't buy a particular item and then not name why or an alternative. Its just like dont buy a secretlab chair because there are office chairs that do a better job and then the price goes to 2k+… its so useless.

    • +3

What amazing display advancements have been made in the last two years that render the S2721DGF non-competitive? None. What are “competitive options” sub $500?

  • +1

I've had a black screen problem with this every couple months and need a power cycle. Bit disappointing. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/mokr14/dell_s2721…

    • Yeah, have had that happen a couple of times too.
Not a super big deal but freaked me out the first time.

  • Get this or wait for a cheaper deal for the LG 27GP850-B?

    • This is what I was debating as well… decided to bite the bullet and get two of the Dell's for $360 each with the coupons as I've not seen the LG drop that low. I much prefer LG as a brand in terms of quality though…

  • If anyone has a spare Unidays code that would be much appreciated!

  • Used this for over a year now, and overall is good. But the monitor is oversaturated compared to my other monitors and you may need to configure the monitor with the ICC to fix the issue.

  • Hello keyboard warriors :)

Anyone know what's the deal regarding purchases made on the weekend? I haven't heard back from the DELL regarding a confirmation of my order….

    • Bought on Sunday, arriving today allegedly.

    • Delivered today

  • Thanks op been waiting for a good monitor deal bought 2.

  • Got confirmation mine has shipped already :)

  • anyone received Amex cashback ?

    • Yep, delivered on Wed and Amex cashback showing this morning.

  • +2

This or the LG UltraGear 27inch? specs seem similar.

    • I have both (2 UltraGears and one of these) and I'd prefer the Dell as it has a much nicer stand. The LG stand is comparatively flimsy and I need to push the screens down every few days as they slowly rise over time. The LG monitor has an external power brick whereas with this it's internal. In terms of picture quality, I can't really tell the difference even with them side by side.

  • +1

Finally got mine today thanks to a delay from Startrack :( Great monitor for work/gaming and watching videos :p

    • Got mine today too! The refresh rate is soo smooth and its pretty crystal clear.

    • +2

Nevermind I thought the base couldn't be moved cause at first I was worried of breaking it but I saw a similar thing online and some brute force seems to have loosened the swivel base now it's fine.

      • I thought I had broken mine as well. Thankfully the monitor just has good ergonomics lol

        • They should put a note on the base, I was close to opening a return for it.

  • +1

Ordered last night with both discounts applied and received confirmation shortly thereafter.

    Great value against comparative panels.
