      90% off.
      Just ask.

VA panel. That's a dealbreaker for me

    • +5

What do you expect for this price? An OLED panel? This is a great gaming Montour. Had mine for ages and love it.

      • +2

Not saying it's a bad price but personally can't stand the smearing with VA panels
Would have been tempted with IPS

        • +2

Worth noting that smearing on this one is much much better than most VA panels - only noticeable on pure black background + white text

        • +2

It would be way over $1000 then.

        • +2

Whilst this used to be true and big concern, there have been a number of monitors come out in recent years that have no noticeable smearing or ghosting (if setup appropriately) unless you really go looking for it on black backgrounds. One of my monitors is one of those, an LG, and its genuinely not an issue at all even for FPS (and ive owned plenty of IPS and TN screns over the years). It makes some VA panels monitors brilliant bang for buck even for FPS games.

          • @Xizor: Oh, interesting. Might have to look at some VA monitor reviews.

          • @Xizor: Oh that's pretty interesting. Is the lg you have one of the high end super fast refresh VA's?

I like my contrast so usually want va over ips. OLED is making that a bit more confusing but maybe one of each could work and play to the strengths.

        • Any recommendations on a non gaming (i.e. working) 34”?

          • +1

@Principal Reasonable: This one. Its absolutely fine for work use. Unless your work is professional graphics, CAD etc that demands something much more capable and expensive.

Got this last deal and i love it

    • Yeah, even with VA, I have a few now. Great monitor for the price.

    • Same. Great monitor for the price

    • +1

Likewise. I've just noticed three dead pixels right up the top of the screen which are barely noticeable but I can see their policy is it needs to be at least 6 dead pixels for a replacement. Will keep an eye on it and seek a replacement if any more appear.

It's great to see that Dell is still using that old Destiny 2 screenshot, all the while the Destiny 2 community is melting down over the latest expansion!

    • +1

Besides the campaign story being pretty weak
( that’s a generous way to put it ) the new strand gameplay is pretty enjoyable

    • Are live service game communities ever not melting down over updates?

  • +5

Title might be incorrect, resolution is 3440x1440 not 4k.

    • Did you downvote the deal just because the title was incorrect? It is fixed now.

        • +3

Regardless, your invalid neg will be removed

        • +3

That's a false analogy because the dealership is correctly advertising it as WQHD. The person who posted it on Ozbargain made a mistake, which has been later fixed.

          • +1

@bio: It wasn't a mistake, it was deliberately added I doubt very much op doesn't know what a 4K is. That's why I downvoted it. And I stand by my statement regardless and I'm happy to point this out and be right even though I got downvoted.

            • @craving: OP has nothing to gain from lying. OP is not Dell. It was clearly a mistake, which has now been fixed.

Instead of negging the deal, you should have reported the deal with the reason being "title/description".

        • Actually, this happens all the time, most cars advertised as producing 250kw (measured at the flywheel) would produce south of 200kw at the wheels.

    • Actually, I think a mod must have added the 4k to the description because I definitely did not. I am well aware this is a 3440x1440 monitor, hence including it in description. 4k it is not

  • How is this monitor compared to AOC as below

    https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/34-inch-and-abo…

    • +1

The Dell has better build quality and a brighter screen, however the AOC has an IPS panel. So the Dell would be better for immersive games like Subnautica where the contrast and deeper blacks really shine, but the AOC is better for FPS games thanks to the better response times and lack of blur

  • +3

    Definitely not 4K

  • +2

mine came with a bright dead pixel - claimed a replacement and it's already on the way

    • Similar story I had one delivered the other week with the entire left half of the screen having a slightly darker contrast to the right. Replacement sent out and received in under a week so their support is good.

      • +1

Also make sure you enable 144Hz in your display settings!

  • +2

    Damn no USB c

  • +1

Great monitor, brought 1 about 2 years ago for $540, would buy again, if this had IPS it would be the best.

Had some major issues at first but got a alot better after flushing display drivers with ddu and updating screen firmware.

I had to use the factory display port cable to make it work right with everything on, HDR, full colour and frame syncing, I find it can be a little temperamental though with Windows 10 HDR, I have a 1080Ti. If I run the cable inside the channel behind my desk it doesn't like it, I have to run it out in the open, things like that. If I adjust the system volume mid game the colour goes funny for a fraction of a second while the windows volume thing is on screen, I also sometimes get flickering when loading into some games, seems to be normal though as my friend has the AOC and he gets that too.

If you go on rtings you can get their colour ICC profile for this monitor and set the screen menu settings to use, so its more accurate.

  • This deal or the used deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/759914

Main use is for work, excel, outlook, PowerPoint

    • The used one is fine for work. Low refresh rate may be a problem for other stuff.

  • Keen on retiring the dual 24” used for productivity and gaming and replacing it with a 34” ultra wide. The Alienware oled is a bit over my budget.

Anyone that games on this panel can share their experience? I hear black smearing is an issue with VA panels.

    • Haven't noticed much black smearing when gaming on this monitor for the past year.

Ultrawide experience is great with open world games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Red Dead Redemption 2.

  • +1

Great monitor for the price. Had one for a while now and love it.

  • considering getting one but two 34 inch is not going to fit on my desk.

    • I have dual monitors of these attached to the wall stacked… Purchased last year & I love them

  • +5

This monitor is ridiculously good. Far superior to the 34" Xiaomi

  • +2

$492.70 with the Unidays 7% and the K12 coupon.
With the Amex offer could be $443.43

  • Actually paid a little less for this through an ebay deal when they first released it. Great monitor for the money. I use it for gaming and work.

  • Finally pulled the trigger on this monitor. Coming from a 1080p 24" TN I'm pretty excited, thanks OP

  • +1

I have a 12 year old Eizo Foris FS2331 VA 23 inch monitor with 58K hours.

Been mulling over getting this or waiting for some new mini LED local dimming true HDR monitor…. a whole bunch are slated to be coming out this year

  • +1

Can't believe this is still on sale for this price after longer than 3 weeks.

  • Just got an email that the order is delayed until mid May..
