    • Fonsii means 5x I think, so that's only 5 !!!

  • +1

Some ozbargain member with 10,000 DVD's probably ozbargained the lot lol

    (No it wasn't me)

these'll come in handy. I'm going to put them next to my set of VHS head cleaner fluid refill bottles

    • You mock but I bet you youre one that jumps on those useless DVD "sales" which is just future landfill

  • Bought one - can replace all my cruddy cracked broken ones - project for a rainy day.

I prefer to keep my discs indoors :)

  • These make great indoor frisbees and hurt like bazeesus when they hit you. Great deal!

  • darn, error when choose to pickup instore :(

I chose in store pickup for 500, no problems except delivery date said "on back order". For a clearance item?

Might get them, might not. Good deal, I just hope they find some.

  • I will give it out for free, i think I have hundred at home.

  • managed to back order some CD cases (1 order). Dont like my chances.

really wanted some of the DVD slim cases but wouldnt let me checkout.

wish some people weren't so greedy…

  • +1

Put a back order for 2 packs, well don't know why and whether will get them at the end.
It says the store will call me for pick up when the order is ready, if they call my mobile number, it probably cost more on the phone charge than the money they got from me. Why don't they just throw it away or sell it in bulk to some 2-dollar stores?

  • it says sold out after going through checkout. and no back order available?

  • +1

Just bought 100 cases..Thanks for posting!

  • Out of stock at OW on Elizabeth st (Melb).

  • Will these work with BluRay's!!??
    I think so. lol

    • +4

yes but don't use rewritables in these cases. The data gets rootkit uploaded to Officeworks secret trojan tracking website and stuxnetted to the men in black, but only from rewritable discs due to a firmware glitch in the cases. That's why they're cheap I think. Check out the little chip when you get yours. There are websites stating that they removed the chips and found they are not only 7200rpm, but can be modded to effectively silence the neighbours dog from 200 metres.

You can also use them in RAID array to store 5 CD's at once.

      • Hilarious. You had me in splits. Literally :D

        • Hi to all the other gymnasts that visit ozbargain too :) (wave)

  • would you like some cappuccino topping with that?

    • Why buy where office works offers free coffee. I

  • Is there a way to browse all clearance items?

Searching "clearance" comes up with 900+ results but it only displays 200 (4 pages of 50).

  • Just bought 10, our company goes through a lot of these. They're all on back order so who knows if they'll actually honour it.
For a comparison on how amazing this price is, our regular guys charge us $32 for 100 cd cases, or $320 for a thousand. With this deal we're getting a thousand of them for $14.30 delivered.
    Great find OP.

    • Oh noes! You're greedy!

Don't order more than 1 lot on back order or the OzB deal police will bitch and neg you for making them …..um…. need to go on back order too? Lol, some of these people crack me up.

      • Its fine, he/she has a use for them.

Its greedy when you order 20 for no reason other then they are cheap.

  • +1

    Uses of these CD cases:

    -Coasters
    -Frisbees
    -Puck for table hockey
-Stimulated sound of cracking debris from a shattered window used for an upcoming arthouse film.
-displaying these next to my 5 pack VHS tapes
    -mosaic masterpiece

    I'm out for now…

    • Yeah I reckon some federally funded artwork is the go. I might charge Julia and co about $2.50 per case that I use, and I might theme it on the national broadband network, which like CD cases, is already outdated and not worth what you pay for.

      Too political for Ozbargain?

  • Anyone managed to pick theirs up yet? My order went through for in store collection, but haven't heard anything else.

    • +1

I got an SMS this morning telling me it was ready for in store pickup.

I'm putting together a savings plan for myself and my family over the next few months, achieved by cutting out treats and reducing our expenditure to just the essentials.

And once we have raised the 84c, I'll be popping in to Officeworks to pick up my purchase.

    • Phone call came eventually and picked mine up. Huge box of CD covers all shiny and new. Mega cheap! Decent shop quality, was kind of expecting crap tbh. Excellento deal.

  • OK. Ordered a pack of 100 at around 7:40pm yesterday and just called OW if it's ready for pickup. I was told it was a back order and will take 5 business days to get it. Damn, it shows in stock when I placed the order.

  • Update: called up officeworks and its now a discontinued item so no delivery, got my money refunded.

  • Damn, would have loved 100 of these for that price. Haha!

  • Got a call this morning to refund my money.

    • same - they must be making quite a few :)

      • they left me a voicemail asking to call back for a refund due to being an out-of-stock discontinued item but i never did as for $0.84 i cbf

a few days later they emailed me a tax invoice

last week they rang to say that it was ready for collection

        :)

  • Dropped by the store (its near work) and they spent 5-10minutes trying to find it and work out what was going on before giving me a similar ~$8 item to get rid of me :P

  • Picked up my box of these today. All 7 kilos of it! lugging it round Melb cbd & now on the train home has got me wondering if it was worth the effort?

Sure, 100 plastic CD cases for 84 cents is definitely a bargain but… the line needs to be drawn somewhere!
