[llama tries extremely hard not to write rude comment]

    • +4

yes I was too trying to think of a comment that won't get me banned.

    • +1

Can't possibly imagine what rude comment you feel like writing

    • It might be a problem if your lady needs one for that area, so I hope you mean the toes?

      • +6

This all so off-topic and should be nuke-nazi'd, then ranted about by a mod.

    • +3

A cockup a mod hasn't deleted your post yet.

<—- taking one for the team, cya guys in a few days!

  • +8

We can measure other stuff with this too right?

    • +6

your "finger" would probably be too small for the holes :)

    • +2

I meant… carrots! Boy you got a dirty mind. But seriously, no comment about the size reference.

      • -1

Why would you like to measure carrots?

  • +8

Needed a new circle stencil for work :D, thanks OP!

    • +4

what? i'm using mine as an orchidometer!

      • +23

lol, I had to wiki that and the picture is nasty!

        • +13

Prob shouldn't have wiki'd that on a packed train home….

      • +1

i'm using mine as an orchidometer!

You MUST read this "unusual" article in the BMJ that I stumbled across.

        http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC61053/

"An inexpensive and edible aid for the diagnosis of puberty in the male: multispecies evaluation of an alternative orchidometer"

        • +1

ROFLMAO, that almost made me spit coffee on my keyboard…I'm honestly surprised that the publishing date wasn't the first of April! Thanks for that! :D

        • What the hell did I just read?

    • Same here! OP shold update description to FREE CIRCLE TEMPLATE

    • haha, this is the first thing I thought when I saw it too. No idea till I saw the options Engagement…

  • +2

Firstly I'd like to say that Blue Nile is the best place to purchase diamonds.

However, getting a Ring Sizer for your woman with BlueNile.com all over it is inviting trouble.

    Don't do it Brothers.

    Think of your wallets.

    • Sooo… don't let my GF of 7 years ever see this item?

BTW thanks for the heads up about where to get diamonds online.

      • +2

        Yes.

        Jedi Mind Tricks.

'These are the Diamonds you are looking for'.

      • +2

bluenile, is absolutely, hands down the best place to buy diamonds from.
Prices are around 1/3rd the cost of retail in Australia.

But diamonds in general are a massive scam. If you have resigned yourself to buying into the scam that diamonds are, then this is the best place to get them from. Paying 1/3rd of retail for a lump of carbon is better than paying 100% of retail for a lump of carbon.

    • +2

" Blue Nile is the best place to purchase diamonds."
It is good, though their inability to send images/ideal-scope images of the diamonds pre-purchase is a big let down.
James Allen is a similar online store with pricing as good/similar to Blue Nile but the ability to provide detailed images of the diamond pre-purchase.
It is where i sourced an engagement ring from earlier this year

      • +1

        Congratulations :)

  • My work mate bought an engagement ring from these guys for over $10,000 bloody crazy!

    • +8

Let me guess, you both work in the mines? :)

    • -4

$6k is the 'minimum' so $10k isn't a huge deal.

a friend of mine bought an engagement ring for his partner at $25k.
      no job in the mines.
just a shit load of debt.

      • +13

"$6k is the 'minimum' so $10k isn't a huge deal."

sorry, when did $6k become the minimum your could spend? The ozbargain community must have missed that meeting ;)

        • +2

          it's usually a month's salary…that's the rule.

        • +5

          thats the jewellery stores 'rule'…
you can get an impressive rings for much less than that

        • +9

I thought it was 3 months'?!?!

          Man I got jibbed

        • +11

Your OzB visa has just been revoked, zzz! :p

        • +3

I salary sacrifice so my net salary is a lot lower… does that count? Do I include super? hehe

        • +5

I thought general rule of thumb is 3 months pre-tax salary O_O

That's why you should get engaged when you're still in uni!!!

      • +10

        Idiot.

I'm pretty sure there is an inverse relationship between length of marriage and spending crazy amounts of debt on wedding rings and "the big day".

    • +2

If only a divorce was as cheap as $10k

  • The free one's probably made from cardboard.

    • +1

actually, its lots of plastic rings held in a plastic surround that you pop out
(think those little model planes/cars that you pop the plastic bits out of the holders)

  • +8

    Just an FYI,
    these have always been free..
I got one several months ago when shopping online for an engagement ring, though didnt end up purchasing from Blue Nile due to lack of images of diamonds..and with the rather broad 'gradings' that diamonds get there can be pretty big differences between identically graded diamonds

James Allen is my tip for online purchases, similar price to Blue Nile (plus a few % off if you mention that you are a Whiteflash forum member) but you can get 3 images of diamonds sent for nothing and have an 'experts' opinion regarding the better selection (plus with images you can go to forums such as Whiteflash and get some decent feedback on your choice prior to buying)

    • +1

or you could just shop at whiteflash

      • +1

        whoops, I meant 'Pricescope forum'..
Whiteflash is another 'recommended' diamond supplier online, though is more expensive (aimed at more expensive buyers)

        • If you want princess cut, whiteflash's aset images are much more useful than JA's ideal scope images.

        • and both are miles ahead of no pictures from blue nile ;)

    • Isn't there GST and import duty (assuming it costs more than $AUD1000 when you buy from overseas?

  • Cool! Just got one.

What's the acceptable color, clarity and cut? i.e. from an ordinary person point of view, it looks pretty and shiny.

    • +3

Pick your size, then pick your cut..
then pick the best colour (E,F,G are all going to show white in face-up)/clarity (depending on size even SI1 can look flawless to nake eye) that comes after that..
      cut = everything

      • The 5th C is the most important… 'Cost'

  • +2

I've always preferred a tight ring on my finger. That way she doesn't fall off when I'm exercising.

    • +9

Don't you find it uncomfortable exercising with one hand down the back of your pants?

      • +1

I said 'she' darling. Not meinkampfortable at all.

  • How does this work?

    • -1

Simple, you put one hand down the back of your pants and ring around a bit, just like Matty said (he knows, he knows!)

      • I LOL'd, so I don't think it warranted a backdoor neg! ;)

  • Blue Niles prices are kida overboard, I only buy my diamonds from Diamore, which is more popular and and from diamondocean, also primestyle.

    • Blue Nile is the largest online diamond seller outright.

  • +1

    Received today, thanks OP!

  • How long did u order it, still havnt got mine…

  • hey i got mine yesterday

  • Hmmmm,it's been like 3 weeks and I still haven't got mine ;(

    • ok, just got it :D

  • I also did receive mine today. Pretty good concept. Pop out rings to take straight to your local jeweler.

  • +2

Thanks, I received mine today as well. (Unfortunately the rings only came in blue, so she'll have to wait for a Gold Posca pen freebie before I get on one knee.)

  • +1

    Received mine today. :)

  • Received mine on 24 August
