      • Why is there so many stock for the 55" 2021 model compared to other sizes?
I've been looking at a 65" and the A80J looked perfect, but cant find it anywhere. Out of stock and discontinued.

So are the other screen sizes more popular than a 55"?

        • More people buy big tvs for loungeroom than bedrooms.

    • +3

OLED for 1k would be unreal. I had to jump on this one though. FOMO is real

    • +1
    • -1

You might be right. That's always a better deal around. 65" around 2k mark here's hoping and 75" at 3k mark

  • How many HDMI 2.1 ports? Just two right, and one is for earc?

    • +4

Yes, but the upside is the sound from this tv is epic. Acoustic screen with subwoofer is amazing

      • I'm actually have a spare Sonos beam for my second tv but no earc port

        • +1

If you want this tv for two gaming consoles and surround sound then it’s not quite right. Otherwise it’s ridiculously good

          • @choofa: Yeaaaah… Soooo freakin torn!!
Right now it's just a PC, but I could see myself connecting a console in the future. :'(

            • +2

@GuniGuGu: It’s $1300. It will be 3 years before you get a better value tv than this. And then you will want something much bigger. Just bloody buy it!
Disclaimer: unless you cannot afford it. Or if your better half blah blah blah

              • +1

@choofa: You should move into sales…. i purchased one. Added some jb vouchers to save another 5% :P

                • @GuniGuGu: Damn… I'm probably going to cancel my order. After purchasing it, I realised it doesn't have gsync. It does have VRR, but it seems painful to get it to work properly on PC. I think if I can get an LG CS for the 1.5k mark I'll have less stress :P

                  • @GuniGuGu: Sorry, I wasn’t aware of that. I hope it works out okay for you

                    • @choofa: Hahaha dude, don't be sorry at all :P I wanted to be talked into it. I was just doing some more digging afterwards and seems like the LG will be less headache for me in the long run! Enjoy your tv. Very jealous! Great price!

      • +1

        Can confirm.

  • +4

Kogan TV died last week, 10 months old, warranty claim almost sorted. This has all worked out well, thanks OP!
I'm getting my first non-budget TV!
$42 for delivery when I've got 3 stores within 10min drive stings a bit though :/

  • +1

That's a great deal. i bought one from JB yesterday for 1282.5 (1425 x 0.9) plus time spent on driving around looking for TCN HIM GC from woolies (10% unitl today), a bit pissed actually when i received 15% off deal from JB

  • I know oled can look amazing with source video that brings out its best. How does it go with streaming channels like Prime and Netflix and just general TV (I like British crime dramas)?

    • I pay for the premium Netflix, looks perfect.1080p looks great too, Sony do great image processing.

    • Free to air channels broadcasting 720x526i will always look blurry regardless of the TV panel, but with all else being equal OLED will still look better than a QLED / miniLED backlit LCD. 1080p scales well into 4K even before TV-side upscaling, as long as your source is at least that it should be pretty sweet.

    • 4K Netflix is probably the most common source of 4K HDR (i.e. best quality) video these days, and Sony generally has the best image processing for upscaling non-4K content.

  • No stock available in Canberra or for delivery in Canberra.

I guess that saved me an impulse buy.

    • Same. Saved me some $$$ as well :)

      • +1

Nah you missed out sorry 😬

        • +2

Nah, I didn't. There was some stock 20km away.
Agree its a great deal and an awesome TV though, but I didn't need it right now so indeed saved $$$. :)

        • Already got a 4K TV in my office and one in my bedroom this was definitely an impulse buy.

  • +2

I recommend this TV to anyone. Picture, sound, menu and EARC all work perfectly.
I can use the TV remote to control my AV receiver. When I want to use the receiver I press the settings button on the TV remote, scroll to Audio Output, and choose Audio System. That turns on the receiver and routes the sound to it, then the TV remote controls the receiver volume.

  • Thank you for posting

In holding out for the 65" version at this price

    • +3

      Good luck

    • -1

You would need to wait another two years

  • +2

Man I want this.. gotta stay off OZB

  • I need this like tomorrow but the delivery in April kills it.

  • +1

I have this exact model. Use a VPN to access Bravia Core for some free high bitrate 4K movies and streaming.

    • What country do you set your VPN to?

      • Interested to know as well and what VPN you use as the TV flags for VPN whenever I try?

      • +1

I'm using Surfshark set to the U.S.A

        • Doesn't seem to like NordVPN as can't get past date of birth, when try to create login.

          • @opposablethumbs: I had to change the State that I was in a few times before it worked, but I got there in the end.

          • @opposablethumbs: I have the same problem with Cybergost VPN I get a Network error when I get past date of birth .

            • @chafrill: Unfortunately, haven't had any luck with NordVPN or Surfshark, despite trying with multiple US states, including clearing cache, restarting etc. in between selecting another state.

Open to any further suggestions, as 4K logo on startup of Bravia Core looks stunning, so likely movies would be pretty damn fine.

    • How do get on Bravia Core? I tried to register and it's asking for a "voucher code".

      • BRAVIA core won't work unless it thinks the tv is in the USA, hence using a VPN.

        • Thanks for the tip, will try that.

I know the Aus A80J (and the high-end A9xx series) comes with free movies via Bravia Core, so sounds like the registration process is different (for Aus vs US)…

          • @theo96: A80J excluded from the Aus Bravia Core list, but on the US one.

  • Is it me or are all the TVs for click and collect in Victoria all sold out? And only option is for shipped @ $49 shipped 4th of April.

    • Lucky you, ours was 6th April

      • Thanks we're brought it anyways. Ask questions later. Can always cancel .. got the month to think about it. Hahah!

  • +3

couldn't say no at this price, new bedroom tv :)

  • Do JB post between stores for free? Or you have to pay the $49 fee?

  • -1
    • Sample size of 14..

  • +2

Anyone else's order get cancelled on them? I'm fuming.

    • I think there must have been a last minute rush, mine wouldn't even go to the payment page this morning, just kept loading. Tried a few things but finally clicked over to 7am and it was expired. Would be so annoyed if it did finally go through and got cancelled

    • +4

Yeah mine got cancelled… and I cancelled my c2 order from The Good Guys so now I have no TV coming lmao

      • OH NO! That sucks :(
The manager at the store I ordered from said I wasn't the only one.
Oh well, the only reason why I purchased it was because I thought the RRP is $1895 when it is in fact $1495.

    • Yep same here - apparently b cause of failed verification?

      • Not trying to be salty but I’m not even mad. I really only wanted 4k@120hz but it turns out not many games support it. My X930E is double the HDR peak brightness. These are great for a dark room but no so much for a bright room.

  • Dads been looking for an oled for some time now, showed him this last night and basically an instant buy. Thanks op.

  • +3

Got my ready to collect message an hour ago. Can't wait to pick this baby up because I don't need it 😂

  • +1

Haven't received an SMS link for delivery yet although the order was confirmed :(

  • Ordered late last night. Woke up to a cancellation email because of failed verification. Has anybody had this happen before? Will they honor the post perks voucher price?

  • I purchased one, but I'm trying to cancel as I want a LG TV with GSync. Does anyone want it? I think I might be able to update the address to have it delivered to you. (I'm in victoria)

      • It does, but only on 3000 and newer cards right? My current PC is 2080ti :(

    • PM sent.

      • Look up, he didn’t want it because he thought it doesn’t support G-Sync when it does.

      • +1

You sent your Pm to the wrong person

      • +2

I've already agreed to sell it to p3r514n. Hoping JB don't give me a hard time about changing address.

  • +1

I'm not sure why no one ever posts this, but Sony A80J series have serious issues with wifi. It keeps disconnecting, fails to reconnect, sometimes restart is required to make it connect. Pretty annoying, especially if you'll rely on the built in smart TV functionality.. :/

    • +4

There's a setting for smart wifi control or something like that. I had the same issue until I enabled it and haven't had a disconnect since.

    • Change your time source in the settings to get from network and it should fix the issue, worked for me, no issues since.

  • -1

Does this come with the PlayStation 5?

  • My delivery date is 10th of April :(

  • GWAHHH will this ever comeback?

    • They had plenty of stock so I bet it will be back at a lower price.

      • Not sure why you're getting negged.
Stock is in abundance for a 2021 model so it's very likely to reoccur if they can't clear them out at $1495.
Even then, it's still an absolute steal.

        • Not sure why you're getting negged.

Yeah it's not the first time, it's happened a few times now when I mentioned a possible better future deal lol.
Like what's the issue? ozbargain user doesn't want another deal? The only other reason I can think of is they "don't want to see a better deal, because they bought one on this deal" which is the equivalent of a baby having a tantrum lol. Well it's no secret the internet has turned grown men into whiny little bitches you can see it nearly everywhere now you can't avoid it.

Even then, it's still an absolute steal.

Yeah I agree great price for an OLED. I can see them bettering the price by another $100 though to really convince customers they need to upgrade when they don't.

          • -1

@harshbdmmaster718: Yeah, it’s quite sad really.
Honestly, I reckon you could easily walk in and negotiate 10% off with minimal effort.

  • I ordered it around dinner time on the 7th, but it just got cancelled. Apparently no stock in QLD.

    • Got a notification today that mines is on back order with no ETA. I’m in Sydney.

      • Same, what a bummer

  • I ordered pretty early in the deal. Got an email today that they are out of stock and asked if I'm happy to wait or if I would like to cancel. I told them I'm happy to wait. I'm in Queensland

    • Sounds like the high in stock numbers were an available stock system error 🙄.

Or maybe they didn't expect to sell so many, so the stock numbers included units "on the way" and they were about to be restocked but that wasn't soon enough.

      • Yeah, the manager at my store told me due to the influx of orders, their inventory was delayed and therefore
        inaccurate 🤷‍♂️

  • Hi all, Anybody who received this tv, can you confirm if this tv had that new label with Sony and model name sticker in the right hand side upper corner of the tv? I got the tv and it only had the power consumption sticker in right lower corner. I was wondering if this is same with all the aussy tvs. Thanks.

  • +1

Mine was the same, just the power in the lower right.

    • Same

  • Does anyone have a screenshot of the pricing, date and model? Sony didn't price match me and wants a screenshot :/

    Would be very thankful
