Thanks OP, great price. Hopefully digiDirect ships soon.

Last time I ordered a tripod and it took them 3 weeks to process the order.

  • Far out, I swear I bought the 1tb version last year for about this and thought it was a good price, hah. Nice find.

    • Tech is always like this unless there’s a natural disaster in Taiwan or similar. Could always wait for one more year.

I pulled the trigger for a 1TB SSD when it came with the Assassins Creed Valhalla code, making the drive around $130.

Now the drive sits full and rarely unused lol

        It do be like that haha, I ended up with two when they were 138 and they both just sit next to the PS5 holding all of my PS4 installs, also rarely used ;.;

    • It wasn't a good price for a 1 TB a year ago.

I own a t7 and there's an issue with some computers where these short circuit, causing PC to inactivate them while connected. Solution is to run it through other cable/adapted/hub. Lenovo customer support advised me about it after I was brushed off by sammy

    • Does running it through a hub affect transfer speeds?

      • +1

Because I wasn't prepared for workaround, I do get slower speeds since I'm just using my monitor's USB passthrough as a hub 😂

Could probably find a better way to resolve without reducing speeds as much.

I'd be interested to see if anyone else who owns one experiences the same issue. I haven't looked into it too much after finding out it's not my new laptop's USB port failing (my initial worry)

      • +2

To utilise the high speed of the T7 and not lose performance via a USB Hub, you would want to ensure it's a 10Gbps Hub. Standard Hubs are typically only 5Gbps.

  • Will officeworks price match?

    • +1

      Why not?

    • Don't think they have 2 tb model available.

  • Can you connect it to usb c of Android to backup directly on drive

  • this SSD chicken game is my nice for my new PC building

it's really good time to buy SSD now

60% cheaper than 2 years ago

  • Are these good for 24x7 1080p cctv recording?

    • +2

The 2TB is only good for about 720TB TBW. Expect it to fail or slow down after that. Hard Disks are generally better for 24/7, unless you plan on replacing it fairly regularly.

      • Thanks mate, I want to extend storage of my desktop to record CCTV and I know there are surveillance HDD but can't install in my Sff desktop, hence looking for a USB based external storage to use.

  • Starting to think my $200 for the T7 Shield 2TB wasn't that great a deal that I needed to buy it a few months in advance of receiving my car… oops.

    • Yup, wasn't a good deal.

  • Perfect timing - grabbed one thanks.

  • this or the rugged?

  • Would this be good in a pi nas set up?

  • Good deal.
I already have a lot of hard drives and have no need for a new one.
    But this deal is tempting…

What are peoples use cases for these?

  • I missed out on the Amazon deal. Got this one. Thanks.

  • Missed the Amazon so got this. Cash back and Qantas points makes it an even better deal!

  • Price now $298.

    • +1

      Red still $178

      • Also, now $298.

  • Expired quick..now to see if digi actually has stock or do we all get out of stock emails or stock delay emails

  • +1

I just received an email from digidirect cancelling my order stating "typographical price error". WTF?

    • Same. Pricks…

    • Oh same thing happened to me. My order has been canceled as well. :(

    • Same! Not happy, DigiJan.

  • +2

Order cancelled. I called it yesterday. Digi online is always so useless. Digi stores are run very differently and a lot better. Online always sells stock they don't have and delay or cancel

  • +1

    Yep. Cancelled here too.

  • Cancelled and refunded, just got the email :(

The cancellation email references the Typographical Errors section of their T&Cs.

  • +1

digiDirect are completely useless, I wouldn't trust any sale they put up as they just cancel without knowledge and have terrible customer service.

    Never again!

  • wonder how many got this deal.

so price match can be an alternative solution?
