    Link now working.
    28 Deg/latitude doesn't work.

    My CBA debit card worked.

  • Doesn't link to the mastercard page, anyone got the link?

  • I already have a mastercard tied to my uber account and was already logged into uber, so when I clicked the link it came up with a redeem button. However that mastercard (St George Amplify mastercard) wasn't a valid card.

Sadly the only other card I have is Visa, so I can't test it further.

  • +2

I was able to redeem using my CBA debit card but failed to signup using Coles Mastercard. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Tried Citibank Rewards Credit Card and it's not a valid card

    • Worked with my Citibank Signature card.

  • +1

Up cards don't seem to be eligible, were already on my account.

  • +2

"Use an eligible Mastercard to get this offer." (Citibank rewards) - does anyone know where the list of cards are?

  • Champion! I have been trying to get this everytime it comes up, finally got it.

  • +1

Thanks OP, got 6 months extended with Comm Bank debit card

    • so you already were subbed and got and extension? i signed up last night I and was wondering if that could work

      • +1

Yes I had paid for my subscription till 25/03 after offer activation, subscription got extended till 25/09

        • +1

it said that for me as well but in the app it says its gonna recharge at the end of the cycle for the full amount. is that showing for you as well?

  • +5

The last fast food delivery membership offer from Master Card went out of business (Deliveroo), is this a sign that Uber Eat could be next?

  • Up card - no dice
ME Bank Frank and Buck cards - no dice
Westpac debit card - no dice

  • If anyone has a maxxia card it worked for me

  • +2

    CBA debit mastercard not working

    • Already has a CBA credit card added and added a cba debit card but no dice

    • Mine worked, and it was already available in my uber account to nominate.

  • +3

Had this, cancelled it after first order cos found it useless

    • So you like paying fees???
Not really the Ozbargain frame of mind.

      • +12

Haha hell no i don't like paying fees.

Just stopped ordering Uber Eats and went through drive thru instead.

        • +1

          That's fair.
The places I get don't offer that and (profanity) driving and finding a park.

          • @schwifty: Fair enough bloody institutions. Hopefully this Uber sub can offset some of that hassle for you

Another pet peeve of mine is how a place might open at some stage and then I'd have to go to another place, cos they open at 4.30pm on that app and not 5.30 like on Uber….grrr………

I think you underestimate Uber one. You just have to hang in there. I have gotten half priced food on many occasions, as recently as two days ago. Also gotten half priced or 40% off groceries. Yes the groceries are marked up and there is still a service charge…but when you are taking 50% off or 40% off, it still works out in your favour.

      • Great! Haven't used uber eats for groceries, keen to know which retailer has half priced items?

        • +1

I get Woolies, IGA, Foodworks and a couple local independent grocers. And it’s usually not half priced items; you’ll occasionally get promo codes for “spend $50 on groceries, get $30 off”, combined with the free delivery for orders over $20, it’s a pretty sweet deal that is worth a month’s membership fee. (Making $0 for 6-months a no-brainer).
Some grocers are also combined with bottle-o’s and the promo is valid for alcohol purchases, you just need to show your ID on delivery.

Do shop around though, as some items have a pretty steep markup, but if you know what to look for, you can get a very good haul for $30 off. IGA is my go to since the markups are less compared to other stores in my experience.

          • @Jd1lla: Thanks mate, you are a legend

          • @Jd1lla: IGA prices near me are super inflated via uber eats, I have $20 off my grocery order of $40 or more but it simply isn't worth it.

I'm not even sure I'll use uber one at all, but have it free for 6 months so we'll see

            • @TEER3X: Got to shop for the specials!

Works better with spudshed though, much cheaper than the IGA's on the app

  • Bankwest Debit - doesn't work
    Citibank Debit - doesn't work

  • Damn didn't work with my mastercard credit card. I've done it before with this card, that's probably why.

  • I think this is a commbank offer. Its in my offers in the for you section on the commbank app

    • you might be right, I have edited it, thanks!
Happy to update if it works for other banks/brands

    • Wasn't in 'my offers' in my app, but the link still worked for my CBA debit

    • Thank you. Link through commbank offers worked.

  • Worked for me on my third card. I have 4.

    • +1

Can you just get how many cards you want? I suppose no?

      • +1

1 is from my very first account, 1 is a credit card, another is a CBA card linked to my home loan (the one that worked), and the last is a joint account.

Yeah you can end up with a lot, but it slowly becomes more annoying than useful. I want to get rid of the joint account for example since it is not used anymore. the first account is Westpac which now sucks, I am now passed the age limit for the best rates and they no longer offer rewards to me for some strange reason. Oh I just remembered they launched the shopback lounge, so I suppose that is one reason to keep it. I also have 2% cashback on the credit card for groceries….but I will end up closing that account very soon.

I didn't amass these cards for fun. They benefitted me at one point or another. Just eventually they outlive their purpose.

edit I just realised I have five lol….an HSBC card that has 2% cashback for general use but has hurdles that I am no longer inclined to meet. That one really needs to be closed.

        • Damn that's more than specific :) Thanks for the explanation.

  • Worked with my Wise Visa shrug

  • +2

Didn’t work with my up card - had a thought and went into the Uber app to cancel my membership and it offered 90% off next month, so that’s something for other non CBA customers who were already uberone members

    • I got the 90% offer as well. I'll try cancelling once a month to see what happens!

    • It also works on the free 6 month trial, when I went to cancel. So now I have it free until September, then 90% off for the first month I have to pay for it.

  • I signed up as previously was unable to before. I have had uber one before and it still gave me $30 off $40 spend for joining.

  • +1

Worked for me, not a big Uber Eats user now that everything has skyrocketed but it will be used no doubt.

    Thanks OP

  • 28 Deg/Latitude worked
    CBA debit card worked.

    • +1

      So, did get get 6 + 6 = 12 months extra?

      • +1

        Applied to 2 different accounts.

  • CBA Debit card worked.

  • No good with 28 Degrees nor Macquarie.

I'm never eligible for these things.

  • +1

Worked CBA debit standard. Also used this promo before so happy days

  • +2

Also, heads up - you can open a new account with cba on the app in 5 minutes for free, have the card in a week, activate it, redeem the offer, then close the account.

    • Im not sure if you can cancel it… when you place an order itll charge you a depivery fee if its not a commonwealth or other eligible card

      • +1

This is a good point. I have messaged uber for an answer to this.

        • I wouldn’t have even given them the idea personally

          • @XxBargainHuntaxX: The contractor that reads the message won’t bother forwarding the idea anywhere, and even if they did, Uber wouldn’t bother reading it.

            • @Hargain Bunter: Uber replied to my very carefully articulated message and say

"you will only be able to use the benefits of your uber one if you use the mastercard payment method that you used to redeem your free membership"

Seems they subcategorise promotional memberships to enforce the proper type of card is used.

      • Wait and see eh - it’s worth a pop at least. It’s letting people outright cancel their membership and telling them it’s still eligible for 6 months, I figure it’s one of those things where once it’s redeemed, it’s locked in for that timeframe

      • +1

You'll need to have the card you used for the free 6 months as your default credit card payment method, but if you load up your account with uber credit, it will use your uber credit rather than trying to charge the card. Also, you should be using discounted uber gift cards to maximise your value.

        • Ah so youre saying that uber credit is still an eligible form of payment for this promotional membership. Good to know. Thanks

  • +1

    Worked with comm bank debit

  • +1

uber eats should be free, the food always comes cold anyway

  • Worked for my CommBank debit card, thanks op

  • +4

Cheers, worked. Can cancel straight away and still get the 6 months 🙂

    • Yes done the same.

  • Worked on cba debit

  • +4

Beautiful. Worked on a regular CBA debit card. Make sure to cancel your subscription right now to avoid being charged after 6 months. It should automatically not renew when the expiry date comes.

    • Yep super easy to do, cheers

  • Never used a food delivery service before.

So with this I could order a cheeseburger from McDonalds and only pay the $4 total?

Please explain.. I don’t know much about it.

    • I think there's a minimum spend to get free delivery, with $20 on food and $30 for grocery (If you were referring to how the deduction of delivery fee works).

      • Thanks.that’s understandable I guess.

Are menu items at regular prices too or are they increased? Eg, $25 menu item would be $25 delivered.

        • According to other comments, it was jacked by at least 20-30%. I'm not sure about specific number but it was jacked, like $25 menu item $30 delivered.

  • +2

Did not work with my CBA debit (platinum). Also not in my offers area :(

    • Yeah the platinum debit didn't work for me either, but standard debit did!

    • Same

  • CBA debit card works, thanks OP

  • Extended by 6 months.
    CBA debit.
    Thanks OP

  • Yes it worked for me using my CBA debit mastercard.
    Thanks OP :)

  • CBA debit works for me.

  • Worked on my basically unused CBA debit card. Thanks!

  • Extended my membership for 6 months with my CBA debit card. Thanks, OP!

  • Also extended with CBA Debit MC.
    Thanks

  • Worked for my regular debit card but not my platinum debit card. Thanks OP!

You can also cancel straight away and still keep it for the whole 6 months!

Also tried my Coles Mastercard but it didn’t work.

  • Brand new CBA debit that I activated 5 minutes ago worked

Wise didn't work (yes legacy MasterCard)

  • -2

Worked with combank, does anyone know if I cancel it now whether the membership will cancel immediately or can I use it for 6 months?

    • I didn't neg you but you should really try reading through some of the comments before asking something. It has been answered more than once.

      • Sorry mate, my bad, didnt notice them earlier

  • Worked with my commbank debit card. Double whammy with the $30 dollars off for joining as well. Thanks!!

  • This is bloody gold OP, cheers (worked with my long standing CBA Debit Card)

  • Finally got it! Never worked before but worked this time! Thanks!

  • CBA master debit card worked. Thanks, Op
