  • A bit confused here.

    • I can use the ebay Afterpay coupon but will only get 3% Cashback after 7pm
    • I need to pay with my Westpac card to get the extra 12% Cashback
    • What if my Westpac card is linked to Afterpay?

Is it just one or the other?

    • +1

      Interesting dilemma.

To use the APAYDAY3 code you need to checkout via afterpay so you can't charge the Westpac card for the transaction, so I assume that you will not earn the bonus. Along the same lines as using Paypal (even though it charges your Westpac card).

      • +2

You just have to decide which works better for the (eligible?) APAY item you’re buying,
        is APAY15%+3%
or no codes 12%+12% WP better outcome?

        • +1

and keep note the 12%+12% is capped at $20 each.

        • Thanks for the explanation. I believe that the APAY + 3% will be a better discount than the $40 ($20 + $20)

    • +2

You cannot stack afterpay deal with westpac.

      • Please show where does it state that ?

        • +2

It doesn't need to. The charge to your card will be "AFTERPY XYZ" and not "EBAYAU XYZ" therefore Westpac will see it as an Afterpay transaction. Therefore no Westpac bonus.

          (I assume).

          • @kickling: All I see at this stage is : 3% CB w/Coupon (7PM-10PM AEDT)
APay code is a coupon .

            • @lostgoat: Yeah that's right. You'll get 3% cashback.

              • @kickling: But I see your point of using Afterpay eliminates the Westpac card use :(
                You can't use both together.

            • @lostgoat: The 3% is ShopBack deal (with code, 12% without) westpac is bonus 12% on top. The westpac bonus cannot stack with afterpay because you need to directly pay eBay with westpac card. This means you cannot select afterpay to use afterpay code.

  • Thanks!

  • I'm really confused. I want to get an apple magic keyboard for an ipad pro 11 inch 3rd gen in white. I have a westpac mastercard. Am I better to get it through the APAYDAY3 ebay afterpay published on ozbargain for an apple store giving 15 percent off code or am I better to wait until 7pm east coast time, use shopback click through and pay with my westpac mastercard? Forgive the brain fog, I found it hard to follow the shopback thread for the sale time tonight. How can I combine things to get the best deal?

    • +2

It all comes down to how much it costs.

The 12%+12% / 3%+12% is capped at $20 each. So if you can get more than $40 discount using afterpay + 3% (ShopBack with code) , that is the way to go.

      • $439 before vouchers.

        • +1

          Use AP + 3% (wait till 7pm)

AP code will discount by $65.85

          • @CodeXD: Can you use shopback app and ebay app if you use Afterpay to pay?

            • @jimwh: Do you mean you click ebay Australia from ShopBack app and it opens ebay app? I don't have eBay app but I'm pretty sure it will not track.

              • @CodeXD: Yes, that is what I meant and paying with AP you have to go through another window or app?

So I better grab a computer to do it?

There is an eBay $5 bonus if you buy $50, seems to be app only?

              • @CodeXD: I've always used eBay app (opens up automatically) and it has 99% worked fine for tracking

          • @CodeXD: thanks :)

  • +2

12:30 am purchase tracked. Westpac didn’t track yet. Partial gift card.

  • -1

LoL you can just buy a Gift card.

ShopBack terms and condition DO NOT exclude them right now.

So hurry and buy them @ discounted 24% price if you find a decent one. ( just pay with Westpac eligible Card).

And I will seriously be pissed @ShopBack if they change their mind and say cashback WAS not eligible on purchasing giftcard, (WHEN THEY CLEARLY CHANGED TERMS AND CONDITION and categories etc. to reflect a removal of those words)

    • They do still say purchase of ebay GC is not eligible, but if you’re referring to other GCs in general then YMMV. Me personally the first and only time I tried to buy a Hoyts physical GC from eBay years ago was pretty bitter experience, card never received and ofc when I disputed it eBay didn’t wanna be held responsible for any sale of GCs. So steering clear of any GC purchases via ebay.

    • Tracked fine for me easy good 20 %+ Cashback on those gift cards.
      And bonus challenge too

      • What GC did you buy?

  • Is purchasing something present on your wishlist not validating still a thing?

    • I’ve never tested it myself, but isn’t it just as easy as noting item name and removing from wishlist and re-searching the item as you get back into SB -> eBay?

      • Yes easy but i forgot it was a thing again when i did it earlier lol.

        • I thought wish-list to cart was OK. But not if it was already in cart…

  • In simple terms, does the $20 cap refer to the max cashback that you can receive I.e $167 x 12% cashback = $20 cashback or does the $20 cap refer to the transaction amount I.e $20 purchase x 12% cashback = $2.40 cashback? Apologies for the noob question but its the first time I'm using a cashback offer.

    • +1

      First one.

  • For me the best stuff is items without a code.
And sorry besides bait goods . AMZ doesn't get close :)

  • My noon order tracked normal but no Weetpac tracked. Don’t know why this time

  • lol damn ebay, tried unticking the 5% store coupon and it wouldn't let me. oh well

  • @gotyourback

Shopback lists APAYDAY3 on the store "deals" page. Does this mean it gets 12% rate? Or just 3%?

  • Just to clarify.

"Multiple transactions are allowed unless it’s specified it’s capped per member"

This deal is not specifying "per member" therefore this deal is per transaction?

// Nevermind. GYB notes confirm it is per tx

  • Well that was super annoying. When I went to checkout in the Ebay app, a 5% discount coupon had been auto applied to the item that couldn't be removed and which would reduce the 12% discount to 3%.

    • +2

If what you mean is the store’s “Save xx% when you buy more” kind of auto-applied discount, then that should NOT count as the usual coupon/voucher which you add manually in the field at checkout. Which means you’ll still get the 12% CB.

      • Thanks for your reply. What has happened is that the seller made me a 5% off offer about a week ago which I accepted but didn't complete the purchase so it's applied the 5% discount. I think I might have to go into 'Offers' and delete the offer which should then hopefully remove the code.

  • +2

Looks like it's still 10% cashback now with no coupon

  • Still no tracking at all here from over 24 hours ago… anyone else still waiting?

    • Got ebay tracking but nothing for westpac

    • +2

eBay tracking can take up to 7 days to track, theoretically, so we do have to wait until that window is passed before we can take a look into it, and Westpac Bonuses typically track shortly thereafter but I have seen then take 1-2 business day on occasion, particularly when there's high order volume.

      @Xc01567 FYI

      • +1

Yesterday, bought 2 items on ebay (partial Westpac) and another at first choice liquor (all Westpac) all 3 tracked but no Westpac bonuses yet

      • Still nothing. Hope I won’t miss out on the spend $50 get $5 bonus Cashback offer? I’ll keep waiting patiently….

    • same here - nothing has tracked. I used the SB app but no tracking yet.

      • mine tracked late today - Westpac part is fine at 12% but the SB part tracked at 10% not 12% as expected

  • +2

Tracking and Westpac bonus has just come through for me

    • Yeap me too .

      • Mine too, but just 1 out of 2 order tho.

    • I'm 75% there.

Both order 1 and 2 tracked, but Westpac bonus only tracked for order 2.

      • Order #1 for both SB and WP tracked.

        Order #2 nothing.

        • Still nothing at all here from my order :(

  • Got tracking but 'with coupon' amount seems to be at 1%, not 3%

    • Hey mate, these rates were available from 7pm-10pm AEDT on the 16th and 18th, on these dates outside of the flash sale period the rates were 10% and 1% for without and with a coupon code. If you're not sure why yours has tracked as 1%, I'm happy to take a closer look and help out, shoot me a DM any time.

  • Made purchase between 7-10pm period through shopback app, no tracking from eBay and Westpac yet.

    • +1

Hey mate, eBay can take up to 7 days to track so it may just be a delay on their end t report this to us. Typically I'd say it takes 1-3 business days in my experience so my guess is you should receive tracking this afternoon if not already, but again, they do have that 7 day window. Let me know if you do end up having trouble!

      • @bargain-hunter @kickling hey mates, as above, haven't seen any widespread tracking issues for this one but happy to take a look if you do end up having trouble mates.

        • Yeah all good, I know you always come through. Strange that it didn't track my second order. I did them some time apart so they wouldn't get confused.
          Cheers.

        • Thanks @gotyourback have sent you a PM as still nothing.

          • @bargain-hunter: Have been offline sick a bit this week mate, sorry for the delay, working through backlog now.

      • Thanks for checking in, purchase still not tracked on my $199 item that has already arrived this morning! Normally eBay purchases and Westpac bonuses tracks pretty quickly for me, so I am getting a bit worried.

Looking through my "click activity", there is one for "eBay Plus" at 16 Mar 2023 21:05 that is showing as "pending" for $0.00, I've only clicked through the deal to see what it was and did not purchase a eBay Plus membership since I already am a member. The actual click activity when I made the purchase was "eBay Australia" at 16 Mar 2023 21:26 and that hasn't tracked. Is there a possibility that the app registered the wrong "click activity" as the purchase? I made sure to restart the SB app before clicking through and adding the item to make the purchase.

        • You definitely clicked the wrong banner then. Guess in you clicked from "recommended for you"? ebay.com.au and ebayplus banners are different.

          • @Sheng: Unlikely I clicked the wrong banner, as I went through the Westpac lounge, not my first rodeo.

            • @thunderhead: I mean since you have as successful track under eBay Plus that means there was a transaction. Did you click on eBay Plus banner than head to eBay app and add to cart. Realised the mistake then clicked through ebay.com.au but didn't remove from cart?

              • @Sheng: There are multiple "eBay Australia" click activities between the eBay plus one and my final purchase. I click through the SB app everytime I modify my cart, I am that paranoid.

        • Actually, yeah. I also have an ebay $0.00 pending transaction…

  • Yeah mine hasn't tracked at all 😕
