Big Jetstar sale on. Tons of domestic routes as well, but I'm focusing on the international here, with a sample of what I've found so far. There are something like 426 route/date pairs on sale, so if you have a flight coming up, it's worth a look for your dates. Yes, even from Perth, for those that always ask ;)

All flights are return and include 7kg carry on luggage.

Always check two one way tickets, as it can be even cheaper than return

    It does not include all costs and efforts regarding delayed departure, cancellation, expanding airport parking fee and rebooking accomodation and more annual leave and giving excuse to colleagues due to the unexpected travel change.

        Stuck in Japan at the moment due to Jetstar cancelling a return flight back to Australia (engineering issues), rescheduled to fly out tonight. They provided about $130 for accomodation and $35 in food for the cancellation. Luckily i am only delayed 24 hours, some people have not been as lucky.

        I would have flown direct via Qantas but when I booked, they hadn't resumed flights.

        The 8 times I've flown Jetstar international I've ever been delayed or cancelled each time.

          Had so many different things organised… Paid for extra seating and oversized baggage…

          I reckon this airline is deliberately cancelling flights/seats for profit.

          Just landed in Cairns 24 hours late. Apparently the plane i was suppose to leave on has a flap problem and is stuck in Japan.

          They cancelled a Narita to Cairns flight scheduled for last night. Made people fly Narita to Kansai to get on the rescheduled flight to Cairns…..

      Currently stranded in Cairns after Japan flight canceled. Tokyo hotel and excursion bookings now a shambles.

          Canceled because of technical issues or staff shortage or because it’s a month containing the letter ‘A’ - nobody bothered explaining anything to us.

          We were told to arrange our own accommodations in Cairns and bill them for hotel, food and taxi costs. In their favour, Jetstar rebooked us to depart Tokyo a day later so we could at least enjoy a full week’s holiday as planned. Tokyo hotel rebooked, too, albeit for an extra $150 out of my pocket.

            It sounds too frequent to be "technical and staff" related delays.

            I suspect it's undersold and they're trying to cram more pax on the same flight. Although I don't know how that makes sense if the original pax need to be compensated for accomodation meals and taxi's

      had 2 x business seats booked and got dumped to another flight for 2 x economy seats that weren't even next to each other and middle row…
      would hate to think what I would have gotten if i had economy seats booked instead, maybe cargo hold

      cancelled and got virgin instead last minute

          Just got back from Bali.. rained for a couple days but was otherwise pretty sunny most of the time. It is the rainy season so unlikely to get rain during the middle of the year.

              In saying that I got back a week ago and it only rained once and that was in the middle of the night when I was sleeping, but March is the end of the wet season, so it starts to improve rain wise now.

    Jetstar ruined our holiday in February. A family of 5 supposed to fly to Thailand from the Gold Coast via Sydney.
    27/02 the IT outage at the airport on the Gold Coast. Jetstar cancelled the flight, we didn't make it to Sydney on that day. Got rebooked for the next available flight.
    02/03 Jetstar cancelled the flight to Phuket.
    03/03 Jetstar offered another flight with two connecting flights in Sydney and Melbourne.

    I'd rather pay double than fly with Jetstar, a company specialising in making everyone feel miserable, making Ryanair or AirAsia look like luxury travel companies in comparison

      They are all terrible if something goes wrong, for comparison in my experience Qantas is an appalling bunch of {insert profanity}

      But I will fly with them if need be ,it is just the industry. Make sure you take out travel insurance and enjoy the fun.

        Not sure if you have ever read the fine print of any of the travel insurance companies in super detail, maybe you did but highly suggest if you have not yet.
        Travel insurance is a joke unless natural disasters , no mechanical or airline fault is covered , only act of god or some shit like this….airline failures in any sort or shapes are not covered.

        I think if you are departing from your home country then they will treat you like a dogs breakfast if something goes wrong. However I got the opposite treatment when I was returning from Bangkok. My flight got cancelled due to "engine failure", however Jetstar put me on a flight the following week and also reimbursed me for the accomadation, food, essential items and public transport. In the end it was a win-win because I got to stay in Bangkok an extra week and not pay a cent.

    Again, not sure what's up with all the Jetstar hate. Their reliability and cancellation data is on-par with most budget airlines, simple as that. If you want to be treated like a human then fork out 3/4x more for a premium airline (not Qantas but something like Singapore Airlines)

      I think most of these muppets have only ever had one flight/holiday in their life and something went wrong so they are now haters. I’ve had shit experiences from 5 star Qatar flying in J to great $200 tickets flying air Naru. My mainstay $50 flights from BNK to SYD are what they are, cheap and mostly reliable. Can’t complain.

      Yeah, but this is Ozbargain, where everyone makes 200k+ p/a and expects to be able to fly around the world for $100 and receive top class service or else. Where people rage because their $30 slippers didn't remain in perfect condition for 17 years.     I will fly to Bali with Jetstar next week in a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

    Jetstar is also using the Airbus A320neo on flights to Bali from Sydney and Melbourne.

    The Airbus A320neo is a smaller single aisle plane without IFE and only USB ports for passengers.

      That is precisely the issue. Their planes a lot more modern than most airlines so why do they constantly have cancellations because of 'engineering' issues!

        The Jetstar dreamliners are getting pretty old now, they were some of the first to be delivered. If you actually want to know though, all budget airlines save money by having smaller engineering and operational margins. Less time between flights, fewer (or often no) spare aircraft, smaller stocks of spare parts, less maintenance personnel (especially at international line locations - typically subcontracted), pushing out MEL defect deferments closer to the limit, and a hundred other things.

        Also, my experience there was that 'engineering issues' are used as the excuse a lot of the time when it's something else but they don't want to explain it to the customers. Engineering issues can be sold as safety related (although they are not always!) so go down better than whatever the issue actually is.

        Despite all that, and as I said above, Jetstar maintain excellent engineering reliability and more generally their cancellations and delays are around the industry standard.
